TopResume

This has obviously been transferred offshore to non English speakers (as first language). It was full of buzz words - I felt like I was reading a script for an old 70's Batman tv series. Any substance and real examples were removed from the original I sent them. They misinterpreted simple things that I wrote that are very important in my industry, rather than asking for clarification or leaving something as is that they didn't understand. I believe the writer was just trying to pump me up - but basically including a straight out lie.
Other than taking some inspiration from the layout (a slight improvement, but no major changes) I am unlikely to use anything from the resume they sent me. Biggest waste of money ever.

I've always been able to get jobs by writing my own resumes, but I thought getting it done by professionals would help my chances. I got zero response using the resume and cover letter they wrote for me. After a few weeks I rewrote what they did, and suddenly I started getting responses again. So the end result is that I paid them $250 to make my efforts for weeks useless.

I would recommend either writing your resume on your own or finding someone who will charge a reasonable amount to put a basic one together for you and then modify it to fit your needs. That's what I'll be doing in future.

For over a month, I have struggled with multiple writers to provide something at least resembling an executive level resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile update.

They have met my every feedback email with a response trying to defend their outputs which read as though a barely-literate eighth grader wrote them. I have had to explain basic English language concepts to them multiple times, and they still do not understand.

They butchered my resume into something that does not even remotely resemble my industry experience, and the cover letter clearly shows the writer has no concept of what my resume reflects that I actually do for a living.

Never would I submit to a potential employer the drivel these people gave me. The employer would think me an utter moron.

Do not waste your money with this place. Their incompetence knows no bounds.

The staff, surely don't have a single clue to write an engineering resume, all she does is to trash talk about my CV as improper wording etc, but eventually submitting to a the exactly same with re-arrange sentences from my CV, and all of the input is wrong, she just simply copy paste and add some useless info not related to my work scope, and to make it worse, she even used the same sentence to my other work experience.

Customer support was not responsive, even during the draft process. You will just waste the seven days limit as they're buying time along the way. They don't even bother to do the correction given.

Definitely easy money.

This is a terrible product and experience. The first draft of the resume I got back was so far off that giving feedback to the writer on each item I needed changing would have been way more time and effort than just writing it myself in the first place.

The overall quality of language was awkward, grammatically incorrect, and sounded like it was written by someone not fluent in English. Word choices were like someone did a mad-libs exercise with every buzzy cliche business term possible. The proposed format was even more copy than I had started with, with long paragraphs of text.

I ran my original resume and the new Top Resume version through a couple of resume scoring platforms and the Top Resume version scored lower than mine.

I pinged Customer Service twice through the chat and once via email and got no human response.

This was a waste of time.

I am an international student already under huge amount of student loans. I paid to get the most expensive services of TopResume, but my resume was completed by an unprofessional person. He made my resume 2 pages long, which is not acceptable in companies with jobs related to Computer Science (my major). He just assembled my resume with the data I provided without giving his inputs or suggestions like, which projects would be preferred on my resume. I think it was a huge waste of my money which I earned through hard work as I am still using the resume I created.

I ordered a resume and cover letter and expedited 48-hour service for an additional fee. Services as of yet have not been performed, and there has been zero communication from Top Resume except a pop-up to inform me the writer is "busy".

Avoid this company. I tried their top level package that includes resume, generic cover letter, and LinkedIn profile, written by one of their "top 10% writers". The result were poorly written, generic documents. When I reached out and asked for a refund, they only offered to match me with another writer. I pointed out that I had already paid for one of their top writers, and that the documents were useless. But this was to no avail. No refund, just a lot of messages back and forth. This may not be a scam, but an utterly useless service. Chat GPT will write a better resume for you than Top Resume.

I was very surprised as I expected a personal service making my CV better than it was before, whereas what TopResume sent me looks like something coming out of a "google translate" type automated tool. The CV has lost all of its specificity and multiple points are grossly incorrect. I have exchanged multiple times with the reviewer, but there were too many comments. Maybe this service would have been good if I had no CV to begin with, but in my case, I have lost 200$ in a scam. I have asked for a refund but have not received it yet.

At first I was assigned someone who is not familiar with my career field of advertising creative professional. I contacted my rep and she immediately arranged for customer service to assign me a new writer. My new writer was not only familiar with my industry, but she rewrote my resume in a way that I felt made it much stronger. I will recommend TopResume to everyone whom I mentor when they are trying to rewrite their CV.

TopResume's "Industry Experts" are the young kids out of school who cannot find job anywhere else. They are given templates to create the "professional" resume. People who do critiques have to analyze 100+ resumes in on hour with little or no breaks in between. Save your money and save the kids.

The person I got matched up with had no idea what he was talking about in regards to the IT Networking Field. He would put things that made no sense as achievements as well as call certain terms something else. For example he called RDP a routing protocol. Horrible experience and I had to constantly tell him how to do his job

I paid for the highest package as well as $75 for priority delivery and I got a poorly written CV that was full of grammatical errors, the writer butchered my original CV, threw out important experience points and after 5 days got the same with a bunch of comments and only a title change. I also didn't get a LinkedIn profile makeover by the deadline so other than a cover letter, I didn't receive what I paid for. Their writers are poor and they have zero customer service. No one has responded to my complaint to date, and I think they are buying time till the edit window closes. Stay away and save your money as I feel that I was robbed by professional scammers!

They gave me a poorly formatted resume that was full of misspellings and grammatical error. All of the bullets were full of filler and other nonsense. Any hiring manager would have binned that resume for how bad the resume was. The cover letter I received was generic garbage that they probably copy and pasted from a template.

Please do yourself a favour and just avoid this company! They probably do not provide refunds because they know that their writing service is so bad.

Following the resume critique provided by Top Resume, I took Top Resume services paying $219. After working with "resume expert" over two weeks to get revised version of my resume which, naturally, was expected to address all the concerns in the initial resume critique.

However, my new resume scores only 25/100 on management score (my earlier resume scored 55/100). Given the resume critique had highlighted 55/100 as one of the critical improvement areas, I see this resume re-write and Top Resume services as not useful at all. Hoping to get a full refund given their services failed miserably on the parameter they had set themselves.

I was concerned about the process at first, but my writer, Nora, was absolutely phenomenal! She quickly and effectively took my input documents and reviewed my portfolio before crafting an absolutely brilliant resume, cover letter, AND LinkedIn profile update for me. I could not be happier with the experience OR the final product. Giving feedback and edit requests was perfectly painless and quick, and rewrites were turned around almost immediately. Again, I could not be happier!

I am very pleased with the Resume, Cover Letter, and LinkedIn rewrites. Sabrina did a nice job formatting the information I provided and sent timely updates. She responded well to my edits and suggestions along the way.

After the documents were completed, the general help team was completely unhelpful. I purchased the "Career Confidence" package which includes a 60-day Interview Guarantee. I understood this to mean that they would help connect me with a recruiter network, however I was mistaken. When I asked the general team about connections and recommendations, they gave me two third party options that I could choose from. I followed up to ask a few qualifying questions but my order was marked "complete" and never heard back from a team member again.

I recommend the service for the document work they do, but make sure to ask any questions before you accept all of your revisions. You're kicked to the curb once that happens.
