Out $700! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

I ordered several items from this company and was really disappointed in the quality, so I sent every item back. I only ever received a refund for one item. I contacted customer service multiple times, and on one occasion, the representative was f**cking me around (I could hear her giggling with her coworkers - I assume with her hand over the receiver), asking me the same question repeatedly, until I finally gave up. I contacted the manager of customer service directly by email, and never received a response. I wrote a review on another site, and received a reply on there from their customer service, asking me to email them again. I did, and again no response. This is just a horrible company, a horrible experience, and a horrible waste of money.

Dishonest

This is a while back now but having read other reviews I felt compelled to write. I ordered a mother's day e-voucher for £200 for my Mum. She did not receive it. With lockdown meaning had not seen her for 6 months I wanted to give her something special and had she not said that she was a little surprised I had forgotten mothers day I would never have know she had not received it and the White Company would have in effect stolen my money. I wonder how many others this has happened to unbeknownst to them. When I complained they said simply they would look into it and it took until Friday afterwards before she finally received it - 5 days after Mothers day. All I received from the White Company (Siyanda McCabe) was an emailing stating "we have now sent it" without any apology. I was appalled and replied saying I was hoping for an apology. They wrote again apologising but I must say I expected maybe a voucher as an apology which I suggested without reply. I wasn't looking for a free be but I did expect my order to arrive on time when it was time sensitive and at the very least an unprompted apology after which becomes meaningless. I have spent a lot of money at the White Company over the years on my wife, Mum, sister and development projects but I will now think twice! Appalling customer service.

Waste of time

Such a joke company. I put an order online and waited for over a month and nada...
Had to go to the website's chatroom to inquire about my order. They told me the items I ordered was no longer available (after a month) and no one even bothered to contact me to let me know I should go and look for what I'm trying to purchase elsewhere.
They keep you hanging without a simple email notification or something...
Never shop at that company again.

Terrible customer service

My 87 year old mother was looking to a buy a gift for a friend during lockdown. I suggested she try "The White Company". Having bought stuff in their shops before, thinking their stuff was reasonable quality. There was a problem with the delivery and message card. My mum called the company to make a complaint but also to let them know what had happened, as they might want to be aware, so it didn't happen again. The woman she spoke with on the "helpline" was absolutely not going to take any responsibility or offer any apology. Doesn't make sense, my mum wasn't after a refund she just thought she should give them the heads up, so the same thing wouldn't happen again (to another customer) Really awful service, wouldn't ever buy anything from there again or recommend (I'd stick to John Lewis)

Still waiting refund

My partner ordered me some pyjamas. £80 which is an expensive treat for us. Never have had pyjamas this expensive. However they were too big when they arrived. We sent them back with their recommendation of using Hermes. Over a month later, still no refund and impossible to get through to customer services. I hate this world we live in now where this seems to have become acceptable from these type of companies. Never will I be ordering online again. Disgrace

Just received my order from the White Company...
Having never ordered from this company before I was very concerned it would take ages to receive the order as I placed it BEFORE ( sily me) I checked out the ( mostly bad) reviews.
When I tried to contact them to ask about the ETA for the delivery I couldn't reach anyone at all.
Never heard from anyone so I was flying solo.
The order actually arrived really quickly, however, the packaging was sloppily put together with a stark white linen jacket's plastic covering stuck into the adhesive on the Purolator packaging, & when I managed to pry it out of the plastic there were a few dark stains, albeit faint ones, on the jacket.
Still, for a $300 CDN jacket I expected the white glove treatment ( come on, they are the WHITE COMPANY after all!).
The 2 mint hand washes I ordered smell amazing, however, once again really poorly packaged... actually not packaged at all -- No plastic wrap on the dispenser pump & one of the bottle's tops was actually broken right off & there was about 1/6 of the liquid soap missing & had leaked onto one of the plastic covers of the blouse that I ordered... sheesh, I don't know how a company can package things so poorly. At least most of the items were on sale, but still zero excuse.
Even though I like the look of the clothes & they fit fairly well & I LOVE that mint wash I just don't think I can order again unless their attention to detail improves A LOT.

Just managed to get through to customer service to be cut off when things got a bit too complicated for them deal with. A parcel ordered a few weeks ago appears to be in permanent transit with Hermes. Very disappointing as I had always rated this company, but no longer.

Awful company

Do not use this company. Wish I had read past reviews before making an order, which did not come. They ignored several telephone calls and two emails, eventually a helpful girl did answer and I found out that my order was out of stock, I cancelled immediately. Never use them again.

£60 Exploding candle!

I wanted to share my recent experience with The White Company regarding a rather expensive candle (£60). Just to preface this review with the fact that I have been frequenting the stores and buying online for at least the last ten years with many purchases that I have enjoyed. Unfortunately this time my experience has not been pleasant.
The candle is expensive and quite a luxury as many who shop there know. They are beautifully scented and do last quite some time. I have a cupboard full of the candles as they are my favourites. I am always careful to heed the usual advice, not to leave candles unattended and I always use a mat underneath ( heat proof). The candle in question exploded as it neared the end of its life ( over an inch of wax left)... shattering into smithereens of glass and flying boiling hot wax all over the furniture and room. Luckily nobody was hurt. I emailed the White Company customer service --- after about 6 days somebody emailed me to request photos and the barcode. Luckily I had taken photos but not of the barcode as this was burnt and I had thrown away the fragments remaining. The person who wrote to me was not backing down and insisted that nothing was wrong with the candle and even though she admitted that there was more than enough wax basically shunted the blame off of The White Company. I am gob smacked considering its pretty expensive... and I am a regular customer with no complaints before...( this has not happened to me before with any candle by the way). I am not sure I would go back to the White Company after their shoddy treatment of customers/lack of customer service/ >>. And refusing to take responsibility. Infant the woman I dealt with was quite pompous. Any candle buyers beware! The candles can explode and The White Company do not care and will blame you for it!

Extremely disappointing.
I have £60 worth (just got them last Christmas) of vouchers (paper one) and was told I can't use them anymore, that they could be used only up to June 1st. Their announcement about it was apparently displayed in shops! How would I know this? Im not free enough to go around shopping centers looking for announcements. They basically stole my money! Absolutely appalling service and pathetic replies.
I wouldn't purchase again from this store!

I ordered a champagne bucket and 4 glasses from The White Company on 30 November 2018. Despite receiving an email on 4th and 1th to say the parcels had been dispatched, both parcels never arrived. I emailed customer service on 31 December. To date, I have not received a response. I called on 7th January and was told they would investigate with the courier and get back to me. I did not get a call back so I called them again. I was told the same thing and offered a refund. I did not want a refund I wanted my articles. I sent another email to customer service and have received no response. Last night I called again and emailed customer service again. When I called I was told the courier had closed the tracking number due to the time period and the parcels must have got lost. I was amazed that they would simply accept this from the courier, how can they lose two parcels and their client (The White Company) just shrugs their shoulders with an oh well attitude. I am so angry. The items I wanted have both been discontinued so I can't even reorder them

AWFUL

PLaced a order in the sale it said it had good stock in all sizes, they sent a email to say out of stock and kept my money pending for 12 days before I could spend it again.

Don't keep people's money pending if you don't have a item it's lawfully wrong change your payment arrangement.

Only keep a transaction going if you have the item if not cancel it and ref it straight away.

Awful customer service

My Daughter received one of their silver trinket boxes for her 18th birthday as a present from her uncle which after a few weeks tarnished severely. I contacted customer services who were absolutely appalling. Even though I could tell them the date it was purchased and the address of the person who purchased it - They refused to do anything without talking to the purchaser. I was reluctant to go back to her uncle as it's embarrassing complaining about a gift. The white company constantly move the goalposts through out my whole communications with them and refused. To exchange the item. I will never use this company again And everyone out there please do not buy the silver plated items as they are shoddy and not worth the money.

They're so cheap they use a courier service which uses another courier service called wnDirect, whose tracking never works.
I don't see how a company can profit on lost and undelivered items, only to re-send same items (at least that's what they promised, after over 2 weeks of waiting for items that didn't get delivered).
I hope someone shut them down soon.

I smell a scam.

I have been ordering from The White Company for years and love their products. I also have a soft spot for Chrissie Rucker and Nick Wheeler as inspirational leaders, however I am getting nowhere with my latest (or should I say placed back in March) order for over £600 which was supposed to go to Fuerteventura. It has gone astray and no one in the company seems to know where or why. The original order was placed on 18/03/18 and I am still waiting to find out where my order is.

Lights in a tangle
November 16, 2017

Purchased the star battery lights and although very pretty they took a ridiculous amount of time to untangle as the end was hidden in the middle of the bundle of wires. An absolute waste of valuable time. Avoid at all costs unless you have a few hours to spare and like untangling things!

Exploding candle

Candle blew up after a few minutes with fireball and glass all over the place. Fortunately water bear by and doused flames. Could have burnt down house- company not interested did not even pick up the candle and CEO was utterly indifferent

I ordered a sleeveless linen top on the 17 th May and was told that it was shipped on the 18 th - when I still had not received it by June 5 th - called them for the second time.
I then got an e mail thanking me for my return and that they will credit my account in due course.
Primarily, this was never shipped in the first place - nor I had returned anything - called again and was told that this item was out of stock.

I was a returning customer - loved the products but deplorable customer service- his can something be shipped and then the customer told it is out if stock

I placed a large first time order with The White company. After 3 weeks no sign of the order and the tracking stopped at Heathrow. I emailed their CS and got a snotty response from "Sue Harrison" who told me that I should have paid an extra $30 something to get tracking! I was completely unable to get hold of their US customer service (>15 min hold times) so tried their British number... same problem! I tried emailing 3 more times, got the automated response that "we will get back to you within 24 hours" but they did not respond to any of the emails. My only recourse now to to try to get my money back via my credit card company. Sucks. A couple of hundred bucks and they were birthday presents. I am going to call my local Attorney General's consumer hotline.
