The Grommet COULD be a great new site to purchase innovative gadgets. Except for the fact that their customer service is terrible! I placed an order that said it could take 5 days before shipping... not a problem... I ordered it 11 days before I needed it. Here we are 11 days later and it still is "processing". Hasn't even shipped yet! DJs flippant response was that "we posted it could take 5 days to process so sorry nothing we can do" since when is 5 days the same as 11? In this day and age with so many businesses out there a small company can afford to have poor customer service, they're not gonna last If they do.
I'm SHOCKED at the complaints posted here against The Grommet. I love this company, their range of products they offer, their amazing customer service and their freakishly generous return policy. Complainers do happen to jump online faster and more frequently than happy customers so keep that in mind. They have something like 2 million + customers. I'd hardly let the handful you see here dissuade you from checking them out They have some incredibly cool, quality products you can't find anywhere else.
Interesting website promoting new and innovative products in a variety of areas - home, travel, children, etc. I've ordered twice from the website and have been pleased with both items. Products were shipped timely and were as advertised.

I originally bought 2 silver stainless steel travel forks. They are very well made. I was so impressed with them that as soon as I received them, I ordered 2 more. They are small enough to put in your purse and they stay clean in the case.
I have ordered from this place before, but this time it wasn't good and probably will not shop again. My total order came to $100 they offer free shipping on orders over $50 but, because my order shipping was split coming from different places I didn't qualify. This is common as Amazon and other places do the same. But, my qualifying order was $49.95 so I thought off by a nickel maybe if I called they would cut me a break since I really was ordering over that amount (not my fault coming from different places). The guy didn't seem too helpful and just blamed the computer program not being able to manipulate or adjust; that was it. I didn't want to buy anything else, so they lost my business. I went to amazon the site of ALL found all the stuff I was wanting to buy and then some so they got my money and more. Everything they offer you can find somewhere else most definitely. They should be more competitive in this environment of competitive online stores. This way they won't be in business too long.
Wow, lots of negative reviews for The Grommet's customer service. My experience with them was very good. Ordered my products which all arrived. But one (pillowcase with mulitple layers) wasn't sewn properly and had come apart. I took a picture of it, logged an "other" request (you can log a return request but have to use Other for a replacement request). I also then sent a picture of the item to customer service email. It did take them 5 days to get back to me but a replacement was ordered the next day. I offered to return the damaged item and they told me to keep it or dispose of it.
I do love the unique items they sell and the fact that they support small businesses.
I found this site while looking for gift ideas for a friend. There are some really cool products, but after reading these reviews, I am not going to risk the purchase with them. Etsy also has cool, unique products and a bigger variety for that matter. And I have purchased from Etsy several times and it's been a great experience every time. Disappointing to read these negative reviews. Small store or not, if you have terrible customer service you most likely won't be in business long.
Placed an order and received it in a timely fashion and the item was well made. However, I changed my mind and wanted to return the order. They have a return portal online but it doesn't work so I called their customer service number and was on hold for 22 minutes before hanging up. At one point I was given the option to press "2" to receive a call back, which I did, but was returned with silence, no asking for my call back number, nothing. I sent what I believe was an email (no email address given on the site although that was one of the suggestions). As of now I have heard nothing from them. If you are smart you will spend your money elsewhere.
I placed an order on Dec 9th, paid extra for expedited shipping. Shipping is still in processing. The phones are offline, they haven't responded to my email. I think this site is a scam. Don't buy anything from them, just stick with Amazon.
Had an email that said it shipped. Arrived at family's house last night and found out their presents hadn't arrived. When I looked up tracking info, the shipping label was printed on Nov 28, but the package was never shipped. Still sitting in a company warehouse. Customer service MIA.
Once you open any cosmetic purchase it's over for you. I ordered a 50.00 root touch-up, light brown, it turned my roots bright red. I was informed it could not be returned because I had opened it. How else would I try it and find it to be absolutely awful.
I would never trust them again.
Ordered Bondic liquid plastic welder kit. Order received- leaking fluid. Called Grommet and they sent replacement order containing SHAMPOO. They refused to send out proper item (they claim due to passage of too much time). 21 + dollars down the drain!
Cannot recommend this company.
If I could give zero stars I would! I ordered 4 pest rejects and got a package full of some odor removers 1 pest reject. I got the package a month ago and still dealing with customer service via email since their phone number doesn't allow you to talk to anyone - just leave a message. I am now on email number 6 and still haven't even found out what the invoice says as to what was supposed to be in the package! Completely inept people emailing as customer service representatives as well - absolutely useless. NEVER will order from them again.
90% of reviews are negative. Cool things on the website but I'm not taking the risk. Hopefully these reviews on this site and many others will be noted but likely won't until business goes down. Thank you for the forewarning. I won't be participating.
U wrote a review on the buttery and gave it three out of five stars. Later I looked for my review only to discover they did not post it. This has led me to believe that they do not post all reviews that are less than five stars to make the products look better than they are. I will not trust them to purchase anything again. Buyer beware!
I wish I'd seen this site before buying anything from them. I bought 2 things on one order that I'm disappointed in. But they came from different locations so to return them I have to pay separate return shipping for each item making it a very bad deal. The men's sandals I bought were much smaller than the size they claim to be and I had to pay shipping to return them. If I want to return the butter dish I have to pay again, and that ends up costing too much. I don't recommend this company.
They shipped me a pair of laceez before Christmas. The tip broke off from one while I was lacing the shoe for the very first time! They sent me an email on March 27 that they were shipping a package that day. Here it is June 4,69 days later, and the package has still not reached the post office!
Purchased a dog tag and barely lasted a few months before it broke and is unusable. Company does not support their products and have very short warranties. They leave you high and dry! Had I known, I would have never purchased anything from this company and will never again. Stay away!
Have now sent three emails asking for shipping instructions to return an item. The site says you use a number that is inside the package to get a return authorization. The cost of the item was significantly higher then from another source so I don't want to open the packag, I just want to return it. Alas Grommet makes that task as hard as possible. No way would I ever use that site again. And really, there are so many better on line sites available that no one has to.
They screwed up my packing label with fed-ex and made it signature only, When I called to have them change it, they said that it's just easier to have it sent back and resend the order. And they were not able to send a package in the meantime since the items are out of stock. Oh, and it's Christmas time. Oh and the crappy customer service agent never apologized once. This was my first order and will be my last.
