Bought a very expensive Rowenta Iron (269.99 plus tax) at The Bay, St. Albert in Feb 2023. It is only 7 months old and it started leaking badly about two weeks ago.
Took it back for an exchange or refund, but apparently their return policy is thirty days. Funny that was not mentioned when I bought it. Oh, sorry. On the back of the receipt in the smallest possible print is their 30day policy.
I now have a $269.99 paper weight. The cashier helpfully pointed out the 1-800 number to call Rowenta to see if they will do anything. Yeah, that always works.
I was, till today, a faithful Bay shopper. We are talking 60 years plus. This experience tells me that customer service or standing behind a product they sell is no longer in service. They seem to have forgotten that there are many other places to shop. That is where my money will be spent from now on.
Ordered 2 patio chairs online. Paid over $400 in total. Order was fulfilled from 2 different stores, one of which shipped the wrong chair. With no stock left to correct the error, I returned both chairs via Purolator. 10 days pass after the Bay received my return and still no refund. On the 12th day, I receive a refund for half of the total amount (they charge me for return shipping even though it's their error). After numerous telephone calls and many hours of my time wasted, they can't seem to figure out how they screwed up. As of today, I am still owed $212 and have no idea when or if I'll ever receive it. Don't know what else I can do other than warn others about purchasing from this once successful but now abysmal retailer. Avoid The Bay at all cost! You've been warned!
A footnote: All of The Bay's customer service is now handled by a call centre in the Phllipines so it's virtually impossible to speak to someone who actually works for The Bay in Canada.
Terrible customer service. A return was authorized and then they returned the item after several emails and phone calls because I had not received the refund. With Covid it made it impossible to make an in store return which was explained to the customer service representative on numerous occasions. Will never do business with Hudson Bay again, will shop from Simons, Nordstrom or Macy's. Ignorant email from customer service so called supervisor, which should be sent on a customer service relationship course. Advised them I would be writing this review but no response back. I guess they don't care about loyal customers.
After ordering several items in November and being consistently told my items were on back order and will ship - I got 2 notices of cancellations 1 week before Christmas. I used Paybrite, paid both items in full and still do not have my refunds. Customer Service at the Bay was completely useless - not to and to mention, none of them spoke very good English. After 4 attempts for help with 4 different people - all ignored my requests and to this day I still dont have answers. Paybrite is trying to investigate. I will never make another purchase from The Hudson Bay again, used to be a great store but has gone completely downhill. - beware!
A few years ago, I purchased a pair of "14K gold" earrings (with cubic zirconias, that's fine). I now find myself in difficult times and attempted to sell them. I paid $299.99 for these earrings over a decade ago and found out that they are "gold plated." I was floored. I contacted the Bay, told them the situation, and asked them, "What are you going to say? Do I have my receipt after over 10 years?" They replied, "[We're sorry, shop with us in the future, we love you.]" See attachments. I have stood by the Bay for decades, and have never been so appalled; I would not have expected it of them. Greed simply knows no bounds. It's pretty bad when your most favorite store for most of your life turns out to be run by crooks.
I ordered Clinique eyeline and soap on September 13,2020. This item would weigh less than a pound, shipped from Canada to Canada. My location is not rural in fact I live on the busiest street in my city. I've emailed, replied to questions regarding my experience, contacted them on social media. Only reply comes from Facebook but still have not received my package. Next time I'll just order directly from Clinique. Really negative experience.
Purchased a couch and expected delivery in 4 months. Sold my old couch a week before delivery date. Contacted customer service to find that it would be an additional 2 months before delivery. 2 months pass and I'm still waiting so I contact again and told it's still a month away. I'm now on holiday so I ask them to contact me via email so I can have a family member accept delivery. So they call instead while I'm overseas and I don't get the message. I phone again to arrange delivery and I'm told the couch is ready for pickup. While I've already paid for delivery I have to convince the bay that I've already paid for delivery. Problem solved so I think but I again have to confirm delivery and again told it's ready for pickup. If all goes well I'll get it Friday 8 months and 1 week after I paid for it.
Never again will I step foot in this store.
So i purchased shoes & dresses online, they delivered only shoes with out the dresses when i phoned the call centre they said the dresses were delivered & made it sound like i was lying. They later said they will follow up with distribution centre to find out & they can only decide if am getting a refund or not since they delivered. I was so upset to hear that & right now i just want to return everything i bought from the bay! This will be my last purchase am so done with them! Now its my word against the distribution report that says the dresses were delivered. I feel so robbed am sitting with no dresses / my money!
If I could give zero stars I would, but it does not appear to be an option. My order was lost, and their suggestion was to take it up with the carrier and/or go buy another one of the lost items. No replacement product was sent. Not responsive customer service. Requested a return and they gave me a timeline of two billing cycles(if it was going to be approved!), which is two months. Just absolutely atrocious, won't be ordering with them ever again. I hope they go bankrupt with this sort of attitude towards their customers.
I ordered online and they sent me nothing. When I follow up my order they sent me a photo behind the building door, a box that even not a clear photo that is your package and it is delivered and you should call the police we are not responsible! Now I really don't know what should I do?!
Why spend your money at a business that won't answer their phones? I called 3 different locations to speak to an operator/customer service. It's the same number. No one answered. This customer services says "We want your money, not your problems", which is what not answering the customer service number is saying.
I would have give 0 stars for their online platform. I bought 3 part online thinking I am buying them from Bay but its end up being 3rd party to which has no store to return these items.
Bay is trying to compete with Amazon? I don't think so, you can return items to Amazon without any cost but Bay leave customer to the mercy of original; supplier.
I will never shop again online at Bay.
I bought a couch, it turns out, through their market place third party. I had no idea, it looks like it's from The Bay and even the payment shows up as The Bay on my credit card. The couch broke on the first day and now the Bay has passed all blame to the third party and refuses to refund my money. The third party has in theory agreed to refund my money but a month later it is not refunded and neither party will deal with me. They are passing the blame to each other. I will never shop at the Bay again.
In December 2022 i pay two items on line and change my mind when I received it. The color on the picture was not matching with the reality. I return the two items after one week. They give me back money only for one item. Since December 2022 I claim with their customer service for the total reimbursement...nothing...Their customer service are lying, I call 5 times and can't speak to a supervisor. They give me wrong confirmation with wrong confirmation number. Can't recommend this...non sense
The Bay is not what it used to be and are selling products through outside companies called "Marketplace". In most cases this is not apparent to the consumer - quite devious on the Bay's part. If an item is purchased through "Marketplace", it is very difficult to make a return as The Bay directs you to the 3rd party supplier for your return/refund - no in-store returns. Very sad this company has stooped so low. Buyer beware!
I ordered a dress through the bay only to have it arrive and not at all as pictured on their website. What I discovered is that it is through their ‘marketplace' and not the bay. As a result, the bay doesn't care. I have to pay the cost or returning the item which means I'm out of pocket for an item that wasn't what I ordered. When I contacted the bay they responded with a cold, unfeeling nothing they can do. Be very cautious when you purchase anything from the bay.
Can I select no stars? Do not purchase from the Bay online! They sent me the wrong watch, and then made me pay to ship it back to them, where they didn't even update me that they received the return. I am now told I have to wait weeks before getting my money back, for a mistake they made. The watch is expensive, and there has been no acknowledgement of the money I am owed, or the frustration I have been put through, just to have my order corrected. I am so fed up.
I had ordered a dress for my staff Christmas party on Nov 26. The bay email I got after said it would be delivered on or before Dec 3. My staff Christmas party was last night (Dec 10) and I still have no dress. When I go to the deliver company tracker it still shows that the package has not been received for delivery. I had emailed customer service on Dec 8th, they gave me a case number and said customer service would contact me as soon as possible. They never did. I called and spoke to someone at the bay online customer service on Dec 9 and they said they would ensure I could get my dress before my party and Dec 10 and would contact the delivery company and then call me back. They never did. This was the worst online shopping experience ever. Never trust them or buy from them!
I ordered my husband a robe in November through one of their partners, Leveret. It was reg. $139.00 on sale for $55.00. We received it mid December and were very surprised to see a price tag on the robe for $39.99. I emailed them asking for a full refund as this was fraud. I was told by the Bay that I would have to contact Leveret, who in turn told me to contact the Bay. I go all kinds of excuses and went back and forth for 2 months. I think they do this on purpose and most people will just give up. Not me! The last time I told them them that if I did not get the refund, I would contact the Better Business Bureau, Marketplace Investigations and I would plaster all the pictures and emails on social media. I finally got my refund. And just to show how little they care, this happened to someone else in Sept. (had I noticed that review before, I wouldn't have ordered it). So, the Bay was aware of this and still allowed them to continue. So sad! The Bay used to be a Canadian Icon…not anymore!
No one will tell me how to return my order I placed. It didn't come as described and now I want to return and customer service just tells me to be patient. It's a SCAM. Do not order from The Bay.
