Not only does this site have wonderful products, but so much of the profit goes to awesome charities and great causes. If you're going to shop for gifts or for yourself - look here first please. You might be able to find exactly the gift you're looking for AND feel really good about where your money is going!
I saw an ad in my newsfeed from this site. I love them for their donations etc but I was highly offended to see their current promotion on The 4th of July was a flag shall. Literally the flag. All comments were negative. No feedback was provided. I'm livid at the company that I mistakenly thought did better.
The Animal Rescue Site is an amazingly easy way to donate to 9 different causes by simply clicking the link for either a single cause, or as many of their 9 selected causes you prefer or donate.
Clicking to donate only takes a second & all 9 less than a minute, making daily donating fast & easy.
They will even send you a daily reminder if you want.
Each has their own link along with an explanation of what the charity is, what your click will provide for it & how previous clicks have been used to help.
There is also a link to The Greater Good, an online specialized boutique that donates a portion of purchases as well.
The items sold are good quality & reasonably prised with daily specials.
I have personally been using both sites for almost 10 years now and have never been disappointed by anything pertaining to them.
I visit this site every day and click to feed the animals. I have also purchased items from their store and received everything in a timely manner and as stated on the page. It's a great cause and everyone should go there and help feed the rescue pets. I've never had any bad experience with this site in several years of dealing with them.
I ordered a coffee mug gift set, It ended up being better than the photo in my opinion, I even received a free scarf with my purchase that is not as bad at all, makes a great stocking stuffer this time of year. I also really liked the fact that even purchasing something donated money to help animals. Shipping was free, and arrived within a reasonable time. I would recommend The Animal Rescue Site to anyone.
I have ordered much from this site but it bothers me greatly to see that almost everything is 'Made in China'. I feel that due to the horrendous cruelty that takes place (skinning dogs alive, for example) - in China, it's ironic to be supporting trade. If the Chinese Government were immediately affected (by lack of sales) - perhaps this would put pressure on them to address their animal-treatment. Also - we should have choices to support USA products more. ANIMALS NEED HELP... changes are needed.
The 3 stars is due to the customer service and return options. I've bought many items off the site and am typically satisfied. My last purchase was disappointing. I ordered a sherpa hoodie and sherpa SLIPPERS. Imagine my surprise when my "slippers" were actually sherpa-lined plastic clogs (feel like crocs). When I inquired about exchanging, I was referred back to the site and found I could ship back at my cost, and the whole process would take about a month. Well, pointless for me since the cost to ship back is almost what paid for my non-slippers. However, if I make any future purchases, I will see if I can order it elsewhere first (heard some items on Amazon) that has much better customer service and return policy.
Although I remain disappointed in that my nieces never received their Christmas gifts, I applaud the site's full refund for my nonreceived purchase. I would consider purchasing again IF alternative shipping options are offered
FP, My sincere apologies that your order never made it for Christmas. Even though it was the shipper that mishandled your item, it is still our responsibility to make it right. I am happy to hear that you received a full refund for your purchase and I hope that you will allow us to do better in the future.
Will NEVER NEVER EVER consider "purchasing" from here again. If I want to throw my money away I don't need to give it to these people.
We've bought several pair of flip flops. They are comfortable and holding up even after 2 seasons. Shipping isn't the fastest, but nothing to complain about. We've never had to contact customer service, so can't comment on that.
I was sent 2 of the same item even though I ordered 1. In the same order I received a Hooded Jacket, the inside was full of animal fur and other unidentifiable stuff. Very pre-used and returned by someone else! I contacted them for both items and was told they can do a refund or reship but your responsible to ship them back. $18.00 for shipping!
Buyer beware, return shipping is on you no matter what the reason!
Another Chinese based knock-off site, like many of these pages that come up in your Facebook news feed. This is one of hundreds, mostly hosted by Shopify that try to appear to be legit but are just out there to take consumers money. They steal images from artists, designers and photographers. Buyer beware of FB pages that advertise pages like this.
The 3 items I ordered were supposed to all be buy one get one at no additional cost however when I received my order there were only the single items in the shipment. I contacted customer service and was told no, those items are never big. I didn't imagine it and certainly did not make this up. Now I'm stuck returning and paying shipping cost! False advertising!
I ordered 2 pairs on lounge pants, purple. I paid $40.00 and was told 70 meals for animals would be given to the Rescue site. When the order arrived it was not flannel material like stated, color was maroon rather than purple and the cloth was so flimsy you could see through it. See Photos below. The photo of blue and puprle flannel pants is what was advertised, the other two are what I got. DISGUSTED
Great selection of products with reasonable prices, and fast, accurate shipping.
Lots of items to choose from. Makes great gifts. Tax deductible possibly since a donation of sorts... ask your accountant.
I purchased 2 sets of "handmade" pine needle coasters. Each set was identical in everyday and the coasters were obviously machine made. They are very nice and I would probably had bought them if they had been honestly described. But I refuse to shop with companies that falsely advertise. Now I even doubt if they make the donations they claim to do.
I actually foolishly placed more than one order to get an advertised promotional item. I have NEVER gotten the item. Instead, you get a cheap piece of crap. Don't bother contacting customer service. They truly don't care. They have zero interest in making things right and retaining a customer
I thought of buying from these people then looked at the products. They are the same poorly made products as on other Chinese sponsored sites. Then I checked Charity Navigator to see if they were even a charity. Nope! This is a scam. Only support legitimate sites where your money will actually go to a good cause. Money spent on this company is going to the same country that eats dogs.
After seeing the horrific images from the dog eating festival in China, it seems ironic that an animal rescue site would sell so many items made in China. I threw the shirt away that i ordered when I saw it was made in China. Unfortunately, they don't state what country an item comes from so you can make a decision. They just list "imported." Buyer beware.
I click everyday and have purchased many items from here and never had any problems. It does bother me through that they get some products from China who are know abusers of animals. I am sure it's a money thing but if our goal is to help animals we shouldn't be supporting a country that abuses them. Just my thoughts.
I ordered boots last year but due to their cause I never complained but the boots were cheap and ugly. I donated them to a homeless woman so at least they helped someone but I'm curious how legit this place is and if buying these ugly boots truly feeds animals? Not so sure...
Answer: Hi Sharon, I ordered a bunch of items for my 3 Sisters for Christmas and had them sent to my residence first so I could check them out. As advertised. GREAT Site. IMHO.
Answer: Is it secure? Yes. Thats the only thing you can trust. Everything else is shifty and cannot be trusted. Their promotions are false advertising and bait and switch. Handmade items are cheap Made in China items marked up. If its BOGO or any get free at all, you will not get what you are expecting. If you have a problem, customer service will not only not help you, they will be rude. Buy elsewhere
Answer: Kathey, I hope you have received your order. If not, please contact us at customerservice@greatergood.com for further assistance and we will be sure to resolve the matter for you.
Answer: The Animal Rescue Site Store does not sell products for humans where animals (broadly defined from coral to cows) are killed or injured in the manufacture of the item, or which were tested on animals. This wording is specifically included in all purchase orders. We do sell some organic or natural pet treats and toys which promote the healthy development of cats and dogs as pets; which in the case of cats are exclusively carnivores, and in the case of dogs are direct descendants of wolves which are exclusively carnivores. We are a long-time member of the Wildlife Friendly Enterprises Network (WFEN), and actively sell all WFEN certified products which reduce conflicts between wild animals and humans in order to protect wild animal populations and reduce animal death and suffering caused by ranchers who use poisons or traps to kill predators; such as using guard dogs to protect sheep on rural farms or reimbursing villagers in Mongolia for the not killing snow leopards which occasionally prey on their goats and sheep. We have invested in a large sanctuary in rural Kenya to help preserve wildlife communities and elephant watering spots adjacent to Tsavo National Park and source certified wildlife friendly t-shirts from there to help provide jobs for local communities to reduce human animal conflict and pay to provide ranger patrols to protect elephants and other wild animals from poachers. We do sell some products derived from animals including alpaca, camels, goats, sheep and fresh-water pearls when the animal is not hurt during the process of creating the product; and in the case of domestic animals where they are raised by small farmers and the products are made by small rural fair trade artisan groups who work closely with their animals and shear the excess fibers to provide both income for villagers and to reduce heat exposure for their domestic livestock during the summer. We do not sell products for humans on the Animal Rescue Site made of leather, fur, feathers, down, ivory, shells (unless beach gathered), coral, tortoise shell, elephant hair, mohair, salt-water pearls, mulberry silk, horn or bone; or sheep wool where the sheep were raised in non-humane settings or treated roughly during industrial sheering. We do sell some products made from fossil animals (rocks), humane silk (after the worm has left the cocoon), butterfly wing jewelry (from butterfly wings gathered after the insects have died) and Hindu quality leather made from animals which died of natural causes. We take our mission to promote animal rescue very seriously, and do not want to hurt some animals to help others. We work closely with our suppliers to find great products which have meaning and are one of the largest resellers of certified fairly traded and wildlife-friendly products in the USA.
The company generally enjoys a positive reputation for its product quality and commitment to charitable causes, with many customers expressing satisfaction with their purchases and the overall experience. However, significant concerns have emerged regarding inconsistent sizing, shipping delays, and challenges with the return process, leading to frustration among some customers. While many appreciate the mission behind the brand, the customer service experience appears to require improvement, particularly in handling returns and providing timely support. Overall, the company’s dedication to animal welfare resonates well, but operational aspects need enhancement to elevate customer satisfaction.

Hi Tiffany, thank you for your taking the time to leave a review. I am sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with our return policy. The reason we cannot pay for returns is due to the nature of our business. We first, offer very discounted shipping to you initially, but due to us donating percentages of our revenue to charity we also cannot afford to pay for returns.
