Question:

I have never ordered from the animal rescue sight and i wanted to make sure it was a real and secure sight?

Answer:

Is it secure? Yes. Thats the only thing you can trust. Everything else is shifty and cannot be trusted. Their promotions are false advertising and bait and switch. Handmade items are cheap Made in China items marked up. If its BOGO or any get free at all, you will not get what you are expecting. If you have a problem, customer service will not only not help you, they will be rude. Buy elsewhere

Question:

I'm not sure jessica. i just do it once every day. i imagine they have precautions in place for it. they pretty much get plenty just with the one click a day cause you can set up for an email reminder every day. that's how i do it.

Answer:

I have signed nearly every petition on this site. So much help is needed for these animals out there. There are wolf hunting parties and the slaughter of wild mustang horses for their meat. This cruelty has to stop!

Question:

Do you not know or not care about sheep routinely tortured for wool??? no one who cares about animals would promote wool!

Answer:

The Animal Rescue Site Store does not sell products for humans where animals (broadly defined from coral to cows) are killed or injured in the manufacture of the item, or which were tested on animals. This wording is specifically included in all purchase orders. We do sell some organic or natural pet treats and toys which promote the healthy development of cats and dogs as pets; which in the case of cats are exclusively carnivores, and in the case of dogs are direct descendants of wolves which are exclusively carnivores. We are a long-time member of the Wildlife Friendly Enterprises Network (WFEN), and actively sell all WFEN certified products which reduce conflicts between wild animals and humans in order to protect wild animal populations and reduce animal death and suffering caused by ranchers who use poisons or traps to kill predators; such as using guard dogs to protect sheep on rural farms or reimbursing villagers in Mongolia for the not killing snow leopards which occasionally prey on their goats and sheep. We have invested in a large sanctuary in rural Kenya to help preserve wildlife communities and elephant watering spots adjacent to Tsavo National Park and source certified wildlife friendly t-shirts from there to help provide jobs for local communities to reduce human animal conflict and pay to provide ranger patrols to protect elephants and other wild animals from poachers. We do sell some products derived from animals including alpaca, camels, goats, sheep and fresh-water pearls when the animal is not hurt during the process of creating the product; and in the case of domestic animals where they are raised by small farmers and the products are made by small rural fair trade artisan groups who work closely with their animals and shear the excess fibers to provide both income for villagers and to reduce heat exposure for their domestic livestock during the summer. We do not sell products for humans on the Animal Rescue Site made of leather, fur, feathers, down, ivory, shells (unless beach gathered), coral, tortoise shell, elephant hair, mohair, salt-water pearls, mulberry silk, horn or bone; or sheep wool where the sheep were raised in non-humane settings or treated roughly during industrial sheering. We do sell some products made from fossil animals (rocks), humane silk (after the worm has left the cocoon), butterfly wing jewelry (from butterfly wings gathered after the insects have died) and Hindu quality leather made from animals which died of natural causes. We take our mission to promote animal rescue very seriously, and do not want to hurt some animals to help others. We work closely with our suppliers to find great products which have meaning and are one of the largest resellers of certified fairly traded and wildlife-friendly products in the USA.

Answer:

I hate to tell you this but their customer service is awful. They are dishonest. You can try contacting them but you will get excuses. Be prepared to contact your credit card company

Question:

How much goes to feeding the animals

Answer:

Greater Good takes a big chunk of it. So your donations don't all go where they should. It's better to donate directly to those who actually do the work. Wings of Rescue is a good one.

Question:

Wondering if this is a legitimate site and if the funds they earn truly go to help animals.

Answer:

Yes, they are part of greatergood.org which can be found on Charity Navigator. Greater good donates to a variety of causes, not just animals, but the idea of shopping the "animal rescue site" -- I say that in quotes because it's really greater good -- you are specifying that you want the proceeds of your purchase to go to animal causes. You can find more of this information on their website in the "about us" section of their website. If you want to support all of their causes you can shop greater good proper. They explain all of this in more detail on their site and you can find greatergood.org on Charity Navigator.
