I purchased the 6 date package late last year for $3500 and the initial experience was incredibly slow. My matchmaker found me about 1 date every 2 months and the match maker got fired or disappeared after the 2nd date. Also, before the 2nd real date we had somebody cancel at the last minute. The 1st and 2nd date were women I had no chemistry with.
The new matchmaker that replaced the other has basically been trying to force feed dates down my throat. I laid out my criteria and they pick out the bare minimum requirements of what I'm looking for and also try and get women older than what I set my age range at. The 3rd date I actually liked, but she didn't like me back. The 4th date the girl basically just started staring at the wall like she was bored out of her mind and I ended up not caring after. The 5th date showed up 10 minutes late and tried basically rushing so they could leave. I'm still waiting on the 6th date, but I'm not holding my breath.
Also, it's pretty clear that they're trying to treat this like speed dating. Literally the day after I finish my date they already have another person lined up. My guess is they just find the same girls and just throw them against a bunch of matches.
Also, the women they pick are not high quality at all. 3 of them were 28-30 year old women still living at home, 1 was incredibly overweight, and 2 I asked about the process from their PoV, and they just said that they get interviewed for 5 minutes before setting up a date.
The TLDR was this was 100% a waste of my money. I went with a matchmaker because I work 12-16 hour days and money isn't an issue so I thought they'd do the work so I don't have to sit on phone apps for hours a week. Nope, should have stayed on the apps.
So I've only had my Welcome meeting-but I really like Megan my matchmaker and I'm looking forward to the journey
Terrible. Paid up front. Coach was rude and cut me off. No one is contacting me to move along.

Answer: The app so much better because you can look at photographs and get a sense of the person and you know yourself much better than these matchmaker so only meet you for an hour and then only give you a 10 or 15 minute follow up. I actually feel bad for these matchmakers, because I think they are forced by this model to deal with a lot of very disappointed people.
