I wish I could give them a negative rating. Purchased Ikea furniture higher task rabbit to come and assemble, guy names Scott J. Had no idea how to assemble yet he still put together in the worst way charged me for 5 hours, furniture fell apart when I moved it and TaskRabbit has not responded nor refund my money. Worst company I have ever dealt with and now I'm out 390.00 plus another 400.00 cost to replace furniture.

I just paid TaskRabbit $105 per hour for their inept (but 4.9 star rated tasker) to drill incorrect holes on my bathroom cabinet drawers. He then tried to cover this up by smearing gray paint over the holes. This was $75/hr plus the TaskRabbit current Trust Fee of 35% on top of that.

They would not refund any of my money. Only offered a $75 credit toward future work but I certainly will not ever use them again. I could not find anyone to come do this repair before their time deadline and they would not extend their deadline or refund any money I paid. So according to them, I have no proof of my loss. They acknowledged by photos but had no comment and just insisted on me proving monetary loss. They do not care about you at all. I am not sure what they use the "Trust Fee" money for but it certainly does not go toward creating customer goodwill or truly compensating you for work gone bad.

Do not ever use TaskRabbit. Almost anyone else out there has to be better.

Be prepared to get OVERCHARGED
December 13, 2021

I hired a nice young man to come and help move some items from our yard. His hourly rate seemed totally reasonable. I even overestimate the number of hours I would need him. When you sign up, they do state that there is a site fee (which all sites have). I had no idea that charge was 35% of the amount the guy would be charging. To make things worse, suddenly I get a notice from the guy that he also was charging for his time to drive to our home and back (an extra 1.5 hours) AND that gas it cost him to do this drive.

This website is great in theory - and perhaps good for a simple - 1 hour task. Outside of this, you are WAY better off finding a professional that you can give upfront pricing.

I plan to never use this site again and would advise you caution...

Do not trust their happiness pledge and instead use a local contractor that is bonded and trustworthy. A tasker botched a TV mounting job in my home, rupturing a water line and causing me to incur more than $700 in plumbing and water damage repairs. This was clear negligence on the part of the tasker, as (pictured below) they clearly drilled through a nail plate and into a water line, but Task Rabbit has simply refused to pay for the damage incurred. After undergoing a cumbersome claims process, Task Rabbit finally proposed a reimbursement of $150, and is unwilling to provide me a number for the claims department or further explanation for why only a fraction of the damages will be reimbursed. Do not trust this company I am completely appalled by the lack of responsiveness, respect, and ethics.

Tool Thief

My tasker was Mark F, he didn't bring his own tools and took some of mine with him! I want them back but, can't contact him! He installed a drawer poorly and now I have to buy a new one. Just use a real handy service..

I hired a cleaner name Edith M. To clean days ago. Then the day of the job she cancelled last min with a BS excuse. I'm in extremely difficult situation because of time she cancelled. I contacted customer service which was basically no help at all.

Read the fine print

The tasker totally covered up the heating vent in my bedroom with the hardwood floors I paid him to install. This company has a " customer Happiness" policy. But, if you read the fine print they are basically making you responsible for any negligence of their Tasker's. It goes a little something like this. First, you will need to report any problem or negligence by the Tasker, if you can get in touch with someone. I was on hold for 30 long minutes before someone finally answered the phone. Second, you will need to find 3 companies to give you quotes for the damages. Third, you are to file an insurance claim with your homeowners insurance. Last, you are to pay for the work and they will reimburse you a percentage. No customer can ever be happy with such a policy. By the time you realize this ridiculous policy is in play, they've already been paid and so has the Tasker. That, ladies and gentlemen is what you call a scam

The tasker comes to hang my TVs while doing that he drills a hole in a water pipe destroying my home and the one under it. I ask about their insurance they don't have any. Then offered my 445$ for all the water damages. I sent all invoices from my apartment that came up to 2123 in they basically said they not paying it. Yes I was soooo sad in still dealing with this now. I would not recommend this business at all.

Paul Q was our taskrabbit.
Not only did he not show but he didn't even let us know. So my wife and i had to do the work ourselves. This is absolutely bad service. Task Rabbit itself is a bad service because they didn't even reach out to us to apologize for the unfulfilled task. And their is no way to leave a bad review on Paul Q because he never showed up for task.
Would not recommend to anyone unless you are ok with the 50/50 chance of getting someone reliable and trustworthy.

I asked for help in getting Wayfair upholstered furniture assembled. John H had years of experience assembling Ikea products, so he was quick to understand how to do the job. He arrived early and was very professional and fast, handling the furniture with care. The two furniture items had many pieces, and I would have found the job very difficult on my own. He cleaned up after the task and moved the pieces to their final location. I will definitely recommend John H to others and ask for his help in the future.

Task Rabbit is basically a thief. I've never been unhappy with the work. My most recent task receipt had a $110 trust and support fee for a $250 task. Their "trust" fee is somewhere around 7-15%, but I was charged over 30%.
No response to multiple requests for assistance. No arguing the fee, tacked on at the end. Scary, not a place I want to visit again.

From trying to request the service to the end is catastrophic. This company has a third party assembly service with Ikea. After finding it difficult to book appointments due to credit card verification issue and eventually successfully, the so call Tasker changed my appointment and when eventually came he's not capable to doing the job. The assembly of the product requires 2 persons but thinks he can do and and end up using my toddlers 7&9 children to hold stuffs for him and helping in screwing. It's a bunk bed and end up abandoning the service half. I contacted the customer service, initially they responded and later charged me for service not done. I contacted them to refund my money but never responded again. I called their customer support number and waiting on phone and no one picked up the phone. I then emailed the customer support, no one replied again. The worst company I ever deal with. Please stay from this guys.

I was taken advantage of by one of their contractors. I attempted to call and could NEVER get anyone on the phone. I was able to file a complaint via chat. I submitted proof of the scam and was told they were only a Technology Platform and although they had a "Happiness Pledge" my claim did not qualify. Stick with local contractors that you know and trust. This "technology platform" allows contractors to take advantage of consumers and does not have any accountability.

David was so helpful and friendly. He has a good sense of humour and worked at his job with joy. He made sure I was making the most important decisions with him such as where exactly to position the desk before he drilled. Very good, I will book him again for other jobs.

Taskrabbit.com stole my money
April 11, 2023

I hired a person from taskrabbit.com to help move my daughter and he damage furniture and broke the television. They asked for proof and I sent over 7 pictures. The pictures were not sufficient and they took 360.00 for moving an efficiency no appliance. Broke a new television and said it was resolved and nothing they could do for me. I would understand if they would have at least made some kind of adjustment.

Unauthorized Fee

My tasker Alex A. Did not show so I had to cancel with Dylan O. Yet I was charged a cancellation fee. Initial email to support was just auto responded to without any way for me to explain my side. I tried calling support to explain but was on hold for over 20 minutes and there is not an email I can respond to directly!
Please refund the amount you charged my account as this cancellation was due to Alex A's last minute cancellation.

Housekeeper who showed up a day late with almost no notice and then completely unqualified, simply did not know how to clean and skipped all VIP elements like dust under furniture, cleaning mirrors, or emptying garbage! Wt?

Booked a tasker. They never showed up. Task rabbit charged me anyway. Took them three days to get back to me about this and still it was just an automated email response. This is the worst customer service I have ever encountered. Crooks!

Lousy company and bad business model

Tasker cancelled on me a few hours before and left me scrambling. Other options were literally 4 times more expensive. Task Rabbit customer service claimed they don't monitor or manage the taskers. What kind of help is that? Is have better luck asking someone from the street to help

Filled to become a Tasker over 3 months ago not approved yet when asked always get same email back saying high volume people signing up causing delay come on its over 3 months already. Took my $20, I strongly don't recommend also I will be filling complaint to the consumer affair.
