Tasker was pleasant but dropped and broke the couch he was building. A week later a pile of broken couch parts is still sitting on my floor. TR had me file two separate claims, and still has not committed to a day when they will come remove the broken couch and replace it. It's impossible to talk to a human--either you send an anonymous email that says they will get back to you in 5-10 days (on Day 7 and counting) or you can text them and they just keep saying over and over again someone will email you in 5-10 days. Worst customer service I have ever received from any company anywhere.
Poor website which means you can't book instantly for that day.
Terrible email confirmation of a booking (it did not even have the collection and drop off locations on the job confirm email).
No transparency on pricing - it is not clear that they will not do anything for less than a full hour's rate.
All in all, I would never use them again.
My registration process to become a Tasker has been on hold for 5 weeks now. I have emailed the support team on five separate occasions. Every time, I get an automated reply stating they are sorry for the inconvenience and that my inquiry has been sent to a "senior agent." Nothing more comes out of this. I hear this is a legit platform to find work for flexible hours and that sounds great. However, repeatedly telling me that my inquiry has been bumped up and nothing happens after that is VERY frustrating... I give this application 0 out of 5 stars because I have been given no service for $20. I will be filing fraud on the charge in a week's time if this issue doesn't resolve.
The "trust and support fee" is outrageously predatory - more than 35% of the service you book. They are extremely misleading in how they get you to agree to it- they show the hourly rate of tasker very obvious and in large print and then in very fine print state this 35.3% fee - so my $272 cleaning job was slapped with a $96 "trust and support fee" for a total of $368- was not expecting this extra $100 charge and could not afford to tip the tasker even though she did an excellent job. Will NEVER use task rabbit again- I'll go through small businesses directly.
I am wondering... is it the location? I live in North Suburb of Chicago, Il. I never hear of Taskrabbit complaints. I do understand that when you have a bad experience you should inform other. Reviews are important! Honest workers will give you a business card and share personal information ex: where they live, kids, how they want you to be happy with their service. Taskrabbit should not charge if task is not completed/if you are not satisfied. Sometimes it's great to google the person who you hired, they will appear on social media somewhere. Honest and trustworthy people are who you want in your home and working on projects.
Mr. Amir ( TaskRabbit) so called tasker came to my house and open all the boxes. Then he informed us that it is not possible to assemble my wardrobe and dresser since he is not trained. When I asked to discuss details about it. He told someone else will come so soon and just escaped from my house. I was waiting for 6 hours for someone else however none showed up. Additionally, customer service is worthless. After that, I called IKEA people for requesting some help. They just killed my valuable time and made my weekend ruined. I will not recommend TaskRabbit to anybody. They will only give you nothing but headache. Please think before order something on TaskRabbit.
I hired a painter who advertised himself as minimum 2 hours job and providing his own tools; he called me, demanding 5 hours minimum and I have to buy painters tape paper, etc, but we agreed on 4 hours minimum. Next morning a few minutes before we had the appointment, he canceled, leaving me with $80 of paint.and other supplies. He told me to buy tape and all the rest of the stuff. There is no way to complain about him to the company. And it's very difficult to find somebody on the spot for the job that needed to be done today. Just terrible way of doing business
Hired a tasker for light carpentry. The person showed up drunk then threatened me when I did not pay him his two hour minimum despite him not performing the work. I sent him money to try and appease him then he threatened me further demanding more money. Notified Taskrabbit of the issue and asked for the last name so I could file a police report. Their response was I violated their terms by sending money outside of the platform. It's a shame they are more concerned about their profit than they are about the safety of a human being. First time and awful experience, will never use them again.
Hired 3 different taskers, none had the skills needed to do the work. The guy doing electrical work could not install two recessed lights and took 7 hours to replace 5 light switches, change out one coach light, replace a box on an outdoor outlet, and changed two of four halogen bulbs - he broke a $5 bulb and could not get the fourth to come back on. He also rewired the outlet incorrectly and had to take apart another box to figure out how to rewire. The tasker hired to do exterior work ignored instruction to replace rotted wood and a panel of broken cement board siding before painting. He over sprayed leaving the finish chunky and wasted 4 gallons of Sherwin Williams paint without getting much done in 6.5 hrs. Without asking, He used new cedar shake planks and my plywood to cover the patio, driveway and grass. He also cut 15 fronds from a mature palm tree without asking. Didn't have a ladder to paint the top of the fence. Waste of $400 plus $200 in paint. Done with Task Rabbit.
Seriously, find some other way to get the job done!
I had someone pick up an order for me at Lowe's, claimed the order was not ready, but apparently took the order for himself. Taskrabbit refuses to give me the contact information of the person... Lost hundreds of dollars and am not getting help from their customer service with this,
Please do yourself a favor and stay away!
They charge by the hour and dont vet their people to see how competent they are. I had someone come and hang curtain rods which took him 3 hours to do! Im so upset and there is no one to contact at task rabbit!
Hired mover to move a armoire down some steps. He came out and realized he needed an assistant. When he returned with said assistant (thus upping the price of service), significant damage was incurred (holes in wall and carpet, which was newly installed, bannister was nicked several times, in addition to the damage to the armoire itself...). The worker assured us that this was what was covered under their "Happiness Pledge". After many emails and pictures supplied and all kinds of "proof" that they required, it became apparent that the "Happiness Pledge" is designed for them to be happy that they received your money. They cover their asses with an arbitration clause which is there as insurance that you won't pursue it and if you do, you will lose because arbitrators are in their pockets. In short, yeah, they suck.
We hired a Task Rabbit electrician at 63$ an hour for 3.5 hours and expected to pay 220.50$. However at the time of billing Task Rabbit charged nearly 40% fees over an above directly to the credit card without our knowledge. These fees were not disclosed upfront and were sneaked in. This is clear bait and switch and misuse of credit card without our permission.
I sincerely request that our nearly 80$ in extra fees be refunded and also that going forward Task Rabbit clearly inform all consumers about any fees that will charge so that the buyer is made aware. This will give buyers confidence to work with Task Rabbit again. We have immediately started alerting our friends about this practice so they are not duped by such hidden fees and charges to their credit cards.
We have reached out to BBB to help resolve this and issue the refund of the $83.5 fee that was wrongly charged. These bad customer experiences keep companies from becoming great like Amazon.
Was directed to Task Rabbit by IKEA. Had an appointment scheduled and they didn't even show up... the worker was Eugene C. I would recommend you don; t waste your time and just deal with a more reliable company. However maybe another worker would show up? Would give zero or negative amount if an option...
Insane fees. Paid $80 of Trust and Support fees on a $220 task. These fees were never listed anywhere during the booking process, but get added in the end. Will stay away from TaskRabbit from here on.
My tasker had no clue what he was doing. He damaged my wall and left without completing the job despite being here for hours. He said he would return to fix the mess he made but didn't return. Task Rabbit charged me anyway plus an extra $90 "trust and support" fee! I had to pay almost $1,000 to repair the damage he did and have the project completed. Not happy. One star is too much!
I tried to be specific about lighting- what fixtures down, and what was replacing them. Sent photos, he was confused and angry and said he wouldn't do it after taking the job because i didn't communicate it "correctly" in his estimation. Just a warning, if you're older and they want it their way, they won't work for you. That's my impression.
Tasker Chris G. Called me and raised his price 6 times the already overpriced he was asking. He asked me to pay him 600 to move a couch 20 miles. I'd like to make a formal complaint he also hung up on me as I was still talking. Simple task I payed 75 for a uhaul and moved it my self. I will be leaving on online review for task rabbit as well informing other users to beware!
We hired a person to assemble IKEA furniture. I took a day off so I can be there. The person didn't show up. When I messaged to find out, he simply cancelled teh task. No asking about rescheduling nothing. Just plain cancel. Really?
Signed up and registered on Thursday, 7/12/18 and scheduled Nicolas to come move a desk from my home to an apartment. Originally wanted Friday, he asked for Saturday and I accommodated. When he didn't show up or message I tried to message him x 2. I received a "job cancelled" message from Taskrabbit 40 minutes after he was due. I made arrangements with my schedule to accommodate. I also contacted customer support but haven't heard back from them either. You can't do a good job if you don't show up.
Answer: Mine responded and loved to chat. At the end, he cancelled the appointment. What a waste of time. Very disappointing.
Answer: Hi Carlos, thanks for your inquiry! When registering, a form of payment as well as bank info is required. The form of payment covers the cost of registration and the bank info is linked to your account so that you can receive payment from your Client once you begin tasking.
