The tasker clearly mentioned he had power tools, in his bio, and I requested him politely to bring a drilling machine. He said he can't.
After a long drawn discussion, he finally just changed status to unavailable, without even apologizing for being unable to provide the service.
There's absolutely no place in the app for complaints or grievances.
It's just a big money making scheme.
This site is full of people with zero skills who want to be paid more than experienced tradespeople. During a recent job the final bill was 300% of the estimate ending with damaged furniture, and items installed incorrectly. Never again. What a sham and a scam.
I booked TaskRabbit to assemble some Ikea furniture, set a date and time. I corresponded with the Tasker a few times before the date. But on the day of, he didn't even bother to show up. I messaged him several times, but no response. I then tried to contact TaskRabbit for assistance, but could not get any live person to assist. I received an automated email response back advising that they would get back to me in 1-2 days. This is not acceptable. I would never use TaskRabbit ever again.
I registered as new Tasker, but I got an error saying "something went wrong…" please contact customer service. When I called the customer service she is going to take 7 to 10 business day to review this request.
It seems we are living in 1990s.
Their model is flawed because you cannot rate a taskrabbit unless they show up. If they stand you up, the job was never completed, so they can maintain their 4 or 5-star rating while you get the shaft. My experience: I always post a fee that works out to at least 25/hr for minimal skill jobs. My first experience hiring a TaskRabbit was great. My second experience was abysmal, because the person who accepted the job never showed, never contacted me, and never replied to my texts. I had a short window of time to get this done and was left hanging all day. Task Rabbit customer service said I could cancel the task and I'd get a $10 credit for the next job, but had no answer when I asked how can I add this feedback to the taskrabbit's evaluation. So... buyer beware. Have a backup plan. You can't rely on a taskrabbit's ratings. (This one had done over 20 jobs with a 4.5 star rating.)
Appalling service. My booking was cancelled three times with no explanation. The last contractor cancelled at the last minute, after confirming with me that he was coming and I had taken the morning off work to be there for him. I have sent two complaint emails to Task Rabbit, neither of which have been responded to. I will never use them again.
Signed up because someone I spoke with said he was able to find work, set his own price (eventually). It's been 2 weeks and I still get messages saying my bg check is still being processed. The app has since stop working, closing everytime I try to open it or update it.
I was skeptical initially, and wish I HAD NOT given them my personal info, money and bank account info!
If you have to pay upfront to register for work Beware!
Signed up to be a tasker. 3 weeks later got an email saying back ground passed. 9 weeks later still waiting for them to activate my account. 18 emails got 5 responses all by same woman saying someone else will need to activate. No number to call. Total scam miss managed company
I hired gentlemen to help me place the sunshade, which was assembled already just need 2 people to place the top part, I didn't mind paying for the full hr even if it takes him 5 min to do the task. And yes I read all reviews before, so to have some peace of mind I asked the gentleman to please have any of his ID with the picture before I let someone that I hire on the internet in my home. He cancels on me, saying he doesn't feel comfortable with showing his ID...and I should feel comfortable? Nah, thanks, I prefer to throw that sun sade in the trash. Better be safe than sorry.
I have never used TaskRabbit before, and I hear horror stories about them read bad reviews, but used them anyway since I was desperate. I booked a "tasker" 3 days in advance. Task was a pick-up of 8 trays of food from a restaurant, and delivery to a school. It was a distance of 4 city blocks in San Francisco, a distance of less than a mile. The task was simple food delivery that can be done in 30 minutes. Upon booking, I received a few generic responses (see screenshots below) "I am happy to partner with you per your request." Or "Awesome." I realize that they could have been bots generating auto-replies. I did not get any responses after that. The guy never showed up, and I had to ask another friend to do the task. I tried to call Task Rabbit. The company does not want to be called / contacted, because they probably receive a lot of irate and frustrated folk. Very unreliable company with unreliable "taskers."
I was in need of a simple task to be completed and thought TaskRabbit would be a convenient option. However, upon receiving the bill, I was shocked to see that the service fee was over 30%. This fee is extremely high and it feels like TaskRabbit is taking advantage of people by charging such exorbitant prices. I felt like I was taken advantage of and it left a bad taste in my mouth.
I understand that businesses need to make a profit, but this pricing structure is not fair to consumers. It seems like TaskRabbit is more interested in making money than providing a quality service.
Overall, my experience with TaskRabbit was extremely disappointing. I would not recommend this service to anyone and I will not be using it again in the future.
After waiting all day and cancelling all my plans, my tasker didn't show. It was very difficult to communicate with my tasker, however, he guaranteed he would be able to come. My tasker decided only after the window period to cancel and he did not provide a reason to do so. We are unable to get a hold of him as well. This is such as lousy service and am severely disappointed in their employees.
Their happiness pledge is a joke -- like Public Enemy calling 911. I hired a tasker to help me clean and I warned him a piece was fragile and to treat it with care. Of course, he smashed it to pieces and didn't tell me. He left before I could inspect his work and I found it hours later. It was an item of moderate value that was discontinued and irreplaceable.
I filled out the taskrabbit claim form via typepad and heard nothing back. I contacted them again and they said they had no record of my claim. I filled it all out again via zendesk. And again, heard nothing back until they said they were closing my claim! They have a pledge all right, but it doesn't include happiness. Just a pledge to ignore you. AND THE WORST thing is, I had to pay $21 extra for their Trust Fee to get nada compensation.
Ikea and Taskrabbit quoted me my cabinet to be assembled would cost about $120 - $140 to complete. I was charged $487 by the tasker as he was not as knowledgeable with the ikea systems, it took him 11 hours to assemble. I was mislead and would have never agreed to pay half the cost of the unit. I could have bought an already assembled item from somewhere else. In my opinion this is deceiving and unethical business practice.
I used TaskRabbit to get a pair of dressers assembled as recommended by Ikea. Big mistake. It cost me Total Charged $359.46 for this assembly. One person showed up. Took 5 hours to assemble. The app was down when I was checking the details. Putting it here for others to beware. Seems like a scam to me.
I hired a task worker to assemble a bed. I gave details on the size and structure (queen solid wood bed) the task worker accepted. He was courteous and polite however he requested I help him a few times. I could not with a 18 month old running around, besides if I could do it myself I would have. To top off the stress the headboard fell hard on the bed frame and it broke the headboard in 2 pieces. In summary the task worker went to the hardware store bought a few screws and hooks and pretty much screwed the damaged wood back together. Of course I allowed him to because I needed some where to sleep however I reported the incident and expected a resolution compensating for the damaged item. Taskrabbit only offered reimbursement on the services charged. I am currently now questioning what exactly was the resolution to my damaged item. I do not recommend them for any job and believe their policy & procedure in regards to damaged items is false advertisement.
Registered with Task Rabbit in May 2022. Paid my $25. Gave consent for background check, did one and one interview with the Coach; scheduled my availability every day and nothing.
So, I enquired what was going on and no one responded. Decided to check the reviews and after reading the reviews I don't think I want to be a Tasker any more. Such reviews like "Clients are free to add extra tasks on the day and make extra demands not agreed upon, if you (as a tasker) decline, you are subject to negative reviews even though the client breached the agreement with no penalties to the clients by Task-rabbit spoils this for me. So I will put my account on pause for now until I delete it.
My first experience was great. Second experience resulted in the guy asking me last Minute if he needed two people for a job that had been described to him in detail….then telling me the second person would be double the cost. Unreal! He knew exactly what needed to be done and waited until an hour before the job to try and charge me double. No thank you. Sad to say they have lost my trust
Joke service. Unreliable nonsense. Had a tasker reschedule twice, keep, e waiting all day then cancel at the last minute as the parking arrangements were not to his liking. Tried to feed back but the website is a joke too.
$20 registration fee and they say my application is on hold (for months now) because they are having trouble confirming my identity. I work in liquor sales and have worked every summer at a children's camp. Background checks are not a problem...
They have stopped responding to my emails asking for update. This is absolutely a scam. I know its only $20, but this needs to be looked into!
Answer: Mine responded and loved to chat. At the end, he cancelled the appointment. What a waste of time. Very disappointing.
Answer: Hi Carlos, thanks for your inquiry! When registering, a form of payment as well as bank info is required. The form of payment covers the cost of registration and the bank info is linked to your account so that you can receive payment from your Client once you begin tasking.
