$20 registration fee and they say my application is on hold (for months now) because they are having trouble confirming my identity. I work in liquor sales and have worked every summer at a children's camp. Background checks are not a problem...
They have stopped responding to my emails asking for update. This is absolutely a scam. I know its only $20, but this needs to be looked into!
When you try to be a Tasker in certain areas they say that we already have enough Taskers in this area. Advertising for more participants in saturated areas might be a part of Task Rabbit's ongoing effort to attract a diverse pool of workers. However, if they are not currently accepting new participants due to saturation, it could create confusion. This situation highlights the importance of transparent communication between platforms and potential participants to manage expectations and avoid frustration. Companies should strive to provide accurate information in their advertising to maintain trust within the marketplace with Task Rabbit is obviously not doing! 5 thumbs down. Areas that are not available to Taskers should be temporarily paused until more opportunities are available. False advertising. Period! And a waste of my time to sign up. For example, when I signed up to be a Tasker, they took all my information. They know my location and where I was going to look for work. At that point, they should have stopped me, but they didn't. Typical big business always thinking about themselves. Taking our information and then selling to someone else-- Their secondary business. BEWARE!
I have worked with Ruben two times in the last couple of months and he always does an exceptional job. He is very professional, detail oriented and an outstanding handy man. I've had him build two complex pieces of furniture and both look great. He also cleans up which is much appreciated. I'd hire Ruben for any home task, he does a great job!
The handyman came in was not experienced even though on taskrabbit website says he had done +100 similar jobs. The guy was very slow and sloppy and spent three times the time than originally quoted and also created a mess in the room. In total, i spent $400 and 5 hours install one ikea closet shelf.
Andy was incredibly easy to work with! I scheduled him the night before to move a piece of furniture from one location to my apartment. I head back from him immediately and he maintained that level of communication through the entire experience. Super friendly, knowledgeable and efficient - would highly recommend.
As a former Taskrabbit I can honestly say that I did work for a few nice people, but most were just looking to get work done at rates far below market value. Many times I would place low bids on work (e.g. Logo design for a sporting goods store at $300), only to find out that they expected to pay 10% of that.
Over all I would have to say that if I wanted something done, or if looking for temp employment I would go to Craigslist.
I used Task Rabbit 3 different times when I was living in Los Angeles 2014-2015. Twice I used them for handyman projects and once to help me pack up for a move in July '15. I never had a problem with the 3 workers used. I wish they had Task Rabbit in Ft Lauderdale.
I am editing my review as of April 2021. I used Task Rabbit last month to have a piece of furniture put together. The tasker (person who I hired) charged me $165 for 3 hours work (even though he was only there for 2.5 hours - guess they round up). The company, Task Rabbit, charged me an additional $24.88 calling it a "Trust & Safety Fee." It's not a flat fee. The more the tasker charges you, the higher the trust & safety fee. Not quite worth it anymore.
Beware of this site! The do not guarantee the work of their "taskers". I had a simple fix on a kitchen cabinet. Instead of buying a new hinge the "taker" used some kind of glue, charged me $75, then the "fix" came apart after 2 weeks. I sought help from taskrabbit, perhaps sending another tasker or a credit, and all they said was "sorry, we do not guarantee the work of our "taskers" but we will be happy to give you a $10 credit towards the next task you book with us". Come on! This isn't the only failed "fix" I have experienced with a "tasker". The other was to install a bolt into a beam in the ceiling so I could hang a swinging chair for the kids. When then chair was installed and the kids sat in it the whole thing pulled out of the ceiling and they crashed to the floor. Shame on me for giving this sight a second chance. Please do not waste your money with their "taskers". They are second and third rate "handy-people"
I tried to hire a Tasker for a service and received confirmation from both the website and the Tasker that my service was booked. Come the day of the service and the Tasker does not show up and does not respond to messages/phone calls. I sent an inquiry via email to customer service to determine what happened since the customer service # *******275 is a automated dead end. No response, just Task cancellation emails 20 hours later. What the heck? Their terms and conditions indicate they can charge me for a last minute cancellation. What about me? What is my recourse? Either stand behind your service you are providing or do not. Do now pose as if you do. This is the second time I have had a Task cancellation. I am done with this company.
My tasker failed to followup on their job and the company refused to help me resolve the poor work. When I contacted them they said it was too late and they were no longer responsible. I would suggest everyone stay clear of them.
I wanted a tasker to mount two towel bars on a tile wall, because I had no idea how to do it myself. Insert Task Rabbit. At no point did the tanker express concerns and then had the audacity to keep going once it butchered tile number one! No no, but F@#k no! Just don't it!
I hired an Elite Tasker with a truck to help move. He confirmed on Tuesday, but was a no-show on our move day. Did not call or alert me in anyway. When my second tanker arrive and shared who else was coming he told me that he had a reputation for not showing up. How is this okay. He should not be an Elite Talker if he is not reliable,
I chose Sardis to come build a huge closet I bought at ikea. He got there on time and build this closet for me in 45 minutes tops. He was efficient, and kind and did a perfect job. I will definitely use him again. I asked if he could do other jobs like plumbing etc. and he said yes he does. So if I were u out there I would choose him for any job. Thanks Sarkis
They use kids who dont no crap and do half $#*! jobs. I highly recommend ppl use experienced professionals. They also over charge once the job is done and since they have access to ur credit card there is nothing else you can do but go to court... I will never recommend them to anyone...
I needed a maid for three or four hours. I picked one off TaskRabbit that was $30 an hour. I get a notice that she is not available but one is available for $45 an hour. I needed it bad so I thought OK. When I checked out at 4.5 hours my bill with a 10% tip was $407. TaskRabbit charges a big $#*! fee per hour for every hour the person is there. I will not be using them again. I can't afford to pay a housekeeper $100 an hour
Whatever quote they charge you initially when you sign up is not enough. They will charge way more when they finish. Wont respond to email and now on hold for 30 min on the phone and no one has answered yet. Calling my credit card company
I used Task rabbit to help with my IKEA order. I gave the tasker a 4 out of 5 rating in which he was upset and threatened me by calling me out my name and asking me why I gave him that rating. I felt really unsafe by what he was saying. It was totally unacceptable especially since the person has been in my house. When I contacted Task Rabbit to make a complaint all they said was they would talk to him. Not acceptable. He needs to be fired and should not be allowed to threaten clients let alone abuse his power. Task rabbit took no action and I will never use them again because clearly there is no accountability.
I used task rabbit in SF to pack up items to be shipped across the country. The packing was inadequate and a computer monitor cracked. When submitting a claim I was denied reimbursement because I did not take a photo or video of the tasker packing the item.
The happiness pledge is as marketing gimmick. Do not fall for it.
If you encounter any problems, it's important to understand that reaching out to the tasker directly might not be an immediate option. We strongly advise you to be careful and stay alert to prevent any possible misunderstandings.
A closet Pax system assembled by one of TaskRabbit "professionals" between 10/19 and 10/21/20 had left one sliding mirror door, out of place and crooked. We went to Ikea and spoke to customer's service manager who give us the email address of TaskRabbit and *******@lugg.com (Lugg is a transport service?)., On 12/23/20 we sent to both a long email with all the information and pictures of the problem. But until now 000 answer from TaskRabbit.
Answer: Mine responded and loved to chat. At the end, he cancelled the appointment. What a waste of time. Very disappointing.
Answer: Hi Carlos, thanks for your inquiry! When registering, a form of payment as well as bank info is required. The form of payment covers the cost of registration and the bank info is linked to your account so that you can receive payment from your Client once you begin tasking.
