A closet Pax system assembled by one of TaskRabbit "professionals" between 10/19 and 10/21/20 had left one sliding mirror door, out of place and crooked. We went to Ikea and spoke to customer's service manager who give us the email address of TaskRabbit and *******@lugg.com (Lugg is a transport service?)., On 12/23/20 we sent to both a long email with all the information and pictures of the problem. But until now 000 answer from TaskRabbit.
I booked a tasker in the morning to move one piece of furniture. By 1 pm the tasker pulled out. I only noticed the notification by 2 pm. The alternative tasker offered was not available any more by that time nor was anybody else.
In short: Not reliable for quick jobs.
This was a time sensitive job (estate sale)
Hi. I have hired taskers a few times and i also know people who work as taskers. No one on that platform is licensed or insured for what they do (if it requires license like plumbing or electrical) they are all rookies who don't know much. Taskrabbit encourages them to lie and say they have license. Don't use this app. They are a scam as well. They charge you extra for service fees also they take a cut from taskers wage. And they do nothing for it in return. Their customer service is also horrible.
I set for a mover. After the pricing and unexplained fees were set up, an hour later I was told that the mover would not be able to perform the job. No other reason or excuse was given. Instead of this company holding the next available mover with the same pricing, this employer charges more money and a higher tax. No apologies was given nor were there any accommodations. This is not good business etiquette and this company should not have to be made known in order to accommodate their client/potential clientele.
I booked a tasker to assemble 2 beds for me, whilst my house is nearing completion after a fire. I booked the tasker for 14:00 as the furbiture was being delivered between 08:00 and 12:00. I had to have family members waiting at the property to let the tasker in as I have been away at work, only for the tasker to decide he would not show up. If you book this service and receive Romano. O, don't expect anyone to turn up, complete waste of time.
What sort of set up is this? If I'd of read the reviews before I never would have booked. One tasker turned up the other one didn't. It was a two man job so we asked for reschedule then I got charged for the cancellation. No one answers the support line. This is not a service as there is no delivery just money pinching!
As most people have said, don't pay the application fee and sign up to be a tasker. It's a scam and the fee is not refundable. They'll never respond to you and you'll never hear back from them. I haven't heard back since signing up for over a year now. I'm working with a legal team to contact other applicants to file a class action lawsuit against this company. IT'S A SCAM! They just keep the application fee.
Seems like a scam to me- many of the feedback reviews for different workers are from exactly the same person (name & photo) for the same work at the same time i. E. delivering 30 parcels across London at short notice. Perhaps they've just put up fake reviews to make the site look used/good?
Bought Ikea furniture and then I had booked taskrabbit. Was notified the evening before that this gentleman could not make it. Then they set me up with another gentlemen that informed me the evening before that there is am extra $60.00 because this gentleman lives downtown Calgary and I live in Airdrie. What a joke. I will never ever use this company, all you get is the run around.Don't use this company.
I've tried to hire people with taskrabbit twice now and it's a pain in the neck. People are listed as available but when you try to book they don't confirm. Plus Task Rabbit charges an additional fee above the fee listed for the contractor and you can't see that until you book someone. I did finally book someone for moving and they were great. Going to try Handy instead though.
I hired a tasker for moving and hauling. He came on time move the furniture scratched my wall and then told me. I could use a marker to fix it. He moved the furniture to the location then told me that even though is was only one hour and a half it was 2 and half hours of labor. This was two people so I basically paid 200 hundred bucks for one hour and thirty minutes work. In addition, to the fee that task rabbit charged me. Just get a professional. These people are free to report what they want. Task rabbit does not have checking and check out time for them. It is up on you to argue with tasker. If I had hired a regular mover I would have paid 150 for the hour and half. So don't be me and look for a cheaper way out.
If I could give zero stars I would. Extremely high prices and they don't stand by their work! They are going to hurt Ikeas business. I used them to put together ikeas closets. I was quoted for 5 hours of work at 40$ per hour. Seemed reasonable.
However the task rabbit employee sent me a message asking if they could bring an extra person and they would be able to get it done quicker. I agreed.
Well boy was I wrong. It took 2 people 10 hours at 80$ an hour. My total came to $900+.
To make matters worse the doors on the closets started to come apart after 1 month. I reached back out to Task Rabbit and they said they cannot help me since it was after their 14 day policy. Such BS.
NEVER AGAIN!
Trust me. Save your money. Either don't buy IKEA or find another company to install!
Hope this helps someone out there.
Disgusting customer service. They gave me 1 hour notice of cancellation. This is not the first negative review they have - I can understand why. You are better off getting someone from Craiglist or Kijiji sadly enough.
Only after your service is completed will TaskRabbit notify you of a 7.5% "Trust & Safety" fee that is separate from the service fee. (The service fee is deducted from the take of the "tasker," but the T&S fee is simply added on and kept by the company.) My inquiry about this duplicitous practice has gone unanswered.
Another problem with TaskRabbit is one of communication. After arranging a service, I needed to provide additional details to the tasker. The only way to do that was through TaskRabbit--but TaskRabbit never conveyed the message (or even got back to me!).
4 hours in, 10% completion, unskilled laborer, total failure. Avoid at all cost. My daughters loft bed wasn't assembled and now the job falls onto me who is already stretched to the max. Can't contact anyone at Task Rabbit or Ikea, don't know if we are being charged for this debacle either. Where do we go from here?
Be warned. I've used Task Rabbit 4 times in the last 6 months, of which 2 were repeat jobs because the first guy, who ironically had a high rating never sorted the matter.
In all instances there was an over charrge - 1 hrs work, being charged at 3.5hrs for screwing in a simple toilet seat!
One tasker even over charged for 2 hrs work, when he was there for only 35 minutes - the idiot had submitted his parking ticket which clearly showed 35 mins, which then means that he wa barely on the job 20 min, accounting time to get back and forth from the car.
I do not believe those ratings are genuine and you need to be warned. Many scammers on the site!
I was tired of Taskrabbit taking such a big cut of my rate. I built a new app called "Dayworks "
Dayworks is free to workers and only charges $1.99 to hire. Right now it is just mainly for construction trade but more categories will be coming soon. We are available on Google Play and iTunes. You can also check out dayworks.net.
App needs serious improvement. I scheduled a task that never happened and got charged for it. Disputing the charge with my credit card company. Was able to rebook but the first error should have never occurred.
I paid for registration and never got verified. I'm a completely average guy and there's nothing dodgy about my profile. They really have no reason to reject me. It wasn't made clear that the fee is non-refundable and that verification is not guaranteed on the sign-up stage. I learned it when going through FAQ after the fact.
No response from Customer Service about this issue or any other.
I attempted to join this gig-economy stuff out of necessity. Taskrabbit is conning those who can least afford it.
Overall there are many companies out there with people that care about your experience. Apparently TaskRabbit doesn't care about us, look at all the reviews. I thought maybe it was just me, but when I opened this page to review, I wasn't shocked at all. Thumbtack is was better in every way. Just to let everyone know, TaskRabbit allowed their tasker to cancel on my 84 year old mothers move. I always pay the rates and am a very generous tipper. I had to find people at the last moment. I have removed my account completely as should everyone else The demise will be that of Task Rabbit alone... RIP
Answer: Mine responded and loved to chat. At the end, he cancelled the appointment. What a waste of time. Very disappointing.
Answer: Hi Carlos, thanks for your inquiry! When registering, a form of payment as well as bank info is required. The form of payment covers the cost of registration and the bank info is linked to your account so that you can receive payment from your Client once you begin tasking.
TaskRabbit has a rating of 1.3 stars from 700 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with TaskRabbit most frequently mention customer service, credit card and next day. TaskRabbit ranks 78th among Service Marketplace sites.
