The day before my scheduled task, i got an email saying the tasker (arnulfo m. - DONT EVER USE) has canceled... i immediately tried to reschedule my time-sensitive task, but was not allowed to choose the day i needed... I SENT AN EMAIL MESSAGE TO TASKRABBIT SUPPORT, AND GOT ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSE... REALLY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!. They offered no apology, no help, no options, no compensation, no problem-solving... awful! So i, in my mid-seventies, had to do the task myself (badly!)...
Wish i had seen these reviews - tasker overbooked i asked for 2-3 hrs he told me last minute he had a client at 1130a i was like how you gonna finish my task if you supposed to start here at 10a - i requested 2-3 hours
His response: none of your business
I cancelled his task of course -
Then task rabbit charged me - gave me a support line that was closed
Its a scam - i m report them to the consumer affairs bureau
Dont think america is the richest country and everything is fair and well - i have come across so many scammers its starting to feel like a third world country
TaskRabbit refuses to schedule us in order to put together our IKEA furniture purchase. Their message of refusal comes back to us automatically immediately each we time we try to contact them.
Across the board, my experience using TaskRabbit has been great. I've used their service at least once a month for the past four years or so. I struck gold with my first Tasker. She was great, and I used her for a few years, until I couldn't afford her prices anymore. When my initial Tasker would become unavailable from time to time, I would try other Taskers. All were great, but I wanted to keep my first Tasker. When I eventually had to find someone cheaper, I was skeptical about the caliber of Tasker I would get. I am thrilled with my new Tasker, and have used him going on a year now. I have never had any problem with any Tasker. Because I want to tip my Taskers more than the site will allow, I've had to contact TaskRabbit almost regularly to have them add the tip themselves. They have always responded quickly, and in a friendly and professional manner. This is the only time I've ever had to contact TaskRabbit directly. I've never had any problems with their operations or web site. I am very happy I found TaskRabbit. They have been a tremendous help in my life. I do miss their discounts, though (hint, hint).
AVOID TASKRABBIT! Though I had a few good Taskers, most were not skilled enough to complete the task well and often cancel. In the past two days, I've had two different people cancel. One because his car was broken down and a second which I cancelled because he showed up 40 minutes late, harassed the front desk in my condo building, then harassed another resident before finally harassing me. I did not let him enter my condo and escorted him out. He was pissed off because our building requires workers to identify who they work for due to safety issues and he refused to answer because "that's not something we do in Seattle". He also showed up on a bike without pre-planning on what to do with it. And even though he showed up 40 minutes late, he still grabbed a coffee beforehand.
When I tried to call TaskRabbit headquarters because we were all so shaken up over the incident, I was only able to "chat" via text with someone, and the follow up from higher management came via email. They WILL NOT call you. To me, it feels like terrible customer service, like they give two cents about what happened to their customer and doing something to prevent this from happening to another. Instead they just told me to block him. He should be fired.
This whole thing is ridiculous and I've already deleted the app. They even offered me a code for $100 off but I won't ever be using TaskRabbit again, nor would I ever recommend it to my clients, family or friends. Find another service. TaskRabbit gives two poops about their customers.
2 weeks ago I had a simple but necessary yard task that I could not do myself due to an injury- so, I tried task rabbit. The first "tasker" cancelled and rescheduled- and on the rescheduled day completely ghosted me. And the app doesn't let you leave a review for someone who just doesn't ahow up. Tasker 2 changed the start time at the last minute, I agreed, then an hour after he was supposed to show he ended up texting to say his car had been hit while parked and he had to "deal with it". He was at least
Communicative. I Cancelled.
Tasker 3 (last chance, tasker) is due this morning… after today, regardless of whether someone shows up, I am deleting task rabbit.
Oh- and … They add a 40% "service and safety fee" fee to the taskers fee- for what service? For whose saftey?!? I guess they deserve at least one star o have launched a useless app with no customer support and less than 25% reliability (in my experience) where they make a ton of passive income off of other people's labor (if they ever show up)!
This is the worst web-based service company I've ever encountered. A very poorly designed website and not a human being in sight, of course. I was looking for two people to help move one piece of furniture and two rugs. The website instructs you to advertise your job twice if you need two people, even though it turned out there were some small moving companies with an owner who also employed people. Anyway, I couldn't advertise again because the website wouldn't let me choose the same date. So down the rabbit hole of searching for customer service I went. Of course you have to chat with a robot and then fill in a form if you want to get to a human. The human must have been texting with a dozen other people. The answer she gave me after about an hour was generic, and would have taken half an hour. I figured out on my own that I just had to add another day, then turn down offers for the other day. I also have an exorbitantly expensive mover coming because it only offers you a few options at a time. I don't see any way to cancel. I'm 68 but I have a master's degree from Harvard and I have found it so easy to go to find a house cleaner, a handyman, a gutter-cleaner and a driveway plower on Next-door (to which I have no connection). But a friend recommended Task Rabbit so I gave it a shot. Never again!
I applied to be a tasker on 1/5/16, the company stated that it only hires a small amount of the thousands of applications that they receive. So I waited & waited after several months I found a job and forgot about task rabbit. Oh but low and behold I see a charge to my bank account from the company.
I called the only number available for customer service and it turns out to be the emergency number. I stay on the line and tell the associate my issue. They quickly dismiss me and say that an email will be sent and my issue is not an emergency. I would love for that to happen to them and have someone tell them that same exact thing "I understand that we took money out of your account without permission but we don't consider it an emergency just wait for the email"
Then the company emails me and says it is for the background check I honestly do not remember agreeing to pay for my background check. I told them I am no longer interested in the job and to refund my money they wrote no can do because I am already registered
Okay so I said fine I might ad well attend orientation and take a job so that I may get my money back. But nooooo, the app that the have for IPhone is not trusted so unless you over ride the system and allow it to be accepted you can't use the app. I'm sorry that is a big red flag. If you are a reputable company why would your app not be trusted. So I will have to take a lost on my money & I have deactivated my account so I will not ever be dealing with this company again
I used the service back in August. One of the items was to assemble two bed frames from IKEA. The tasker was very nice. He told us he was relatively new. We didn't mind. When he finished the bed frames we put the mattress on and it didn't fit in the fames and not sitting on the ribs. The mattress was just sitting on top of the edge of the frames. Because of the unstable position of the mattress it keeps shifting when we sleep, essentially the mattress is always titled.
We brought this issue to the support team. After some back and forth and untimely response they refuse to send a taker to fix it, instead they offered a credit for the next job. They did not address our concern, in fact they never mentioned about our frame problem. How do they expect us to use their future service if they didn't get the first one right?
The issue is not about if the tasker can do the job right in the first place, it is about how the support team's effort to have the issue resolved in a timely and responsible manner. In our case the support team failed badly.

WARNING: DO NOT USE TASK RABBIT! AND DEFINITELY DO NOT USE KEVIN M. If there were "O" stars, that is what I would have chosen. Task Rabbit is not worthy of even one star. I hired a Tasker (as they are called) to move some boxes and one piece of furniture from the basement to the first floor where I was storing things at a friend's house. We agreed on 4:00 pm because my intention was to spend the evening going through the contents of the boxes. At 3:30 pm he texted to say he would be there between 6-8 because of rain and traffic. I asked for 6:00 pm because I knew it would take me several hours to do what I needed to do. I was at someone else's house so I did not want to inconvenience them any more than I had to. The Tasker kept texting saying he was one exit away off of the Mass Pike (1.5 miles). Then he texted to say he got off at the wrong exit. The bottom line is, he still was not there at 9:00 pm and I texted and said don't bother coming. His texts in response were so rude and unprofessional. Stating that I wasted 3 hours of his time--he wasted five hours of my time. I contacted TaskRabbit on line to complain asking for an apology from both the company and the Tasker. I got a form letter offering me $25 off to try them again. When I called today I was told the message came from a Senior Advisor and they do not take phone calls. I would say that is probably because they would spend all day listening to complaints. This company is a SCAM. I would NEVER use them again.
TaskRabbit wants you to be a TaskPuppet as a tasker to take 20% of your money from your income as a self employee and profit from you. Expect you to be perfect to everything rating you on your performance in time of response, % of tasks you agree to and much more like if you are a robot who can teleport anywhere and do 50 things at once in their view in commitment to be their slave. Extremely annoying consistently sending messages of tasks wanted done even while you are working and have scheduled jobs already
Without even being able to speak with the client for more info unless you agree to doing it first. 85% or higher is their satisfactory minimum on your work, they don't even care about you as an employee, are impossible to contact as a virtual company supposedly with an office in San Fransico, CA like if everyone lives there. They'll tell you you just got paid and still have to wait a week or so for it without any record of what the payment is for with just a code # on your bank account as direct deposit. Bull greedy unjust company without consideration to the worker. Greedy clients will also take advantage of you and expect you to be superman doing everything like if you even saw the task before or had time to choose the right solution and already have the equipment they didn't get to fix it.
"Tasker" (which must be a euphemism) canceled twice after confirming he was literally on the way; with no explanation or attempt to reschedule. IKEA must be insane to partner' with these dopes.
After an hour of trying to register as a "Tasker" i fnally got to the final stage and then was greeted with "We're sorry, we are not accepting any taskers in your area." Total waste of time and aggravation. And the people you chat with don't care. "Is there anything else i can help you with today?" NO, I DON'T THINK SO SINCE YOU COULDN'T HELP ME TO BEGIN WITH!:
I will never recommend Task Rabbit employee, I was referred by Ikea to install closets and the person couldn't finish the job, I paid through TR but they promised to come back but skipping every day and left the job in the middle, I shouldn't trust their word. Stay away from Task Rabbit people
Ryan 's response of message was rapid. Arrival of my house was on time. His action was quick and good. Will recommend to my friends, and will rehire when needed.
Very unprofessional service. Very unreliable. The firs tasker cancelled a couple of hours before appointment, the next day, the second one cancelled 40 minutes before apointment.
I was looking for a tasker to custom make a door for us. The first tasker I reached out to said he could do it, but we would have to provide the door, and he would happily cut it down. He didn't tell me what size or type we needed so I guesstimated and sent him a link to a door we would buy for pick up at Home Depot. He said no, we needed a solid core door. Never told me that from the beginning. Ok fine. So my husband and I go through the hassle of hauling home this giant 60 pound door from Home Depot. The morning of the appointment comes around, and the Tasker drops a bombshell on me and tells me that we need ALL of the hardware, including door stoppers. I had no idea what that was, he told me they're the wooden panels that goes around the door frame. We would have to pick that up as well and he would install it. That would likely have to be custom cut in the store for us. And who's to say we'd even do it right. That is way out of our expertise! This is what we hire professionals for! I told him that we cannot do the door stopper, and he said he refuses to do any shopping, and it would all have to be provided. I canceled the task, and now I'm stuck with this extremely heavy door that we have to haul back to the store. After that, I tried to find a few other taskers, and both of them said they could do it, but canceled on me the day of service. I'm done with this platform
Not professional at all
Philippe was our tasker but he sent Francis with a 15 year old boy
They put a hole in one of the top of the desk snd made 2 big scratches on the other top
Another big scratch on a drawer and they did not install the right side of the bottom of the drawers
They hided all the things they broke
But I went to check again before they left and I saw all they had hide.
They said that they reported all to taskrabbit but did not offer anything
They were in a rush to go…
Will never do business with them agsin
The worse thing is that they are owned by Ikea!
Do I trusted that they would be good because Ikea is offering there service
Stay away from task rabbit as trust and support fees are too high. They are almost 30% of payment you made to tasker.
Answer: Mine responded and loved to chat. At the end, he cancelled the appointment. What a waste of time. Very disappointing.
Answer: Hi Carlos, thanks for your inquiry! When registering, a form of payment as well as bank info is required. The form of payment covers the cost of registration and the bank info is linked to your account so that you can receive payment from your Client once you begin tasking.
