Found a brand new older model phone offered by a company who gives a 30-day guarantee. Phones must meet Swappa standards, as explained on the site, so I felt comfortable purchasing from the site. I'm extremely happy with my purchase and am telling all my friends about Swappa.
My hunt for a brand new sealed iphone SE last month lead me here. Was really surprise to find the options i found there at Swappa!
Dealing was simple. After a few inquiries and request made to the seller, could close the deal. Shipment was pretty fast too.
Appreciated the opportunity to buy two phones on the Swappa site. Screening and photos from private parties made for confidence that the transactions would be exactly as described. Ability to avoid extensive fees that other sites charge. Highly recommend.
They show you pics of the phone. Give you ample time to check it out and everything. Just awesome!
Used Glyde before because it was a little cheaper. Not worth it. Go with these people. Faster and more reliable.
Buying a gently used phone and selling my phone were both super easy and straight forward with Swappa. I've used it several times and have never had any issues. Excellent customer service, they know what they're doing, and the site is very easy to use. This is the only place I use for buying/selling my devices. Fees are fair and appropriate and you can tell why they get repeat customers and happy buyers/sellers!
I've sold multiple older phones as well as various other electronics through Swappa. I've also purchased phones. The experience has always been painless and straightforward. I highly recommend using Swappa for you electronic buying and selling needs!
I've heard some people say that Swappa can be cumbersome in how it conducts business, with lots of stipulations and rules in place before you buy or sell. But that's exactly why I've been using them for 2 years now. I may not have the sales records that some people have, but it gives me a great place to offload my devices and get competitive prices for them. Their staff is always quick to respond to issues and they want to ensure customers have a positive experience. I have nothing but great things to say about them.
My Instagram feed told me about Swappa.
It's like a Buy-It-Now-only eBay, for tech, where you can negotiate if you want.
It feels like real people are vetting the Sellers' listings, making sure photos of items are real, and everything meets Swappa standards.
Communication between Seller-Buyer-Staff is easy and prompt.
I felt safe every step of the buying process.
Payment, shipping, tracking, Seller communication, and delivery all went smoothly.
Swappa is a go-to and my first choice for tech purchases!
I've bought three used devices on Swappa and have had nothing but good experiences with them. By forcing users to post pictures of their device with their sales number visible, you have a better idea of what you are really buying (much more so than you would with Ebay, their closest competitor). Can't recommend enough!
Though advertised as only "good", the device I have received was actually pretty much in "Mint" condition, so way better than advertised! I definitely see this seller as one to follow and do business with again when I need another phone upgraded! Thanks so much for a perfectly pleasant buying experience and a great price!
My husband and I have purchased at least five phones with Swappa, and the process is consistently positive. We've recommended the site to many friends, and it seems to be the best method of buying a used phone from a private individual or used phone dealer. This, coupled with the pricing being competitive as an open market, makes it a no-fail deal for us. Thanks for doing what you do.
I am in the process of replacing three family cell phones I originally bought new on Swappa almost five years ago. Just bought the first new replacement and figure I saved about $320. One down, two more to go. Before it's all over I will save almost $1,000 by buying my three family cell phones on Swappa. And, as a side benefit, by activating our Swappa phones with our cell phone service provider, I don't have to commit our family to that service provider's multi-year contract in order to get a discount. Overall, that's a pretty good deal for a little on line work! Maybe I've been lucky, but so far I purchased four new phones on Swappa without an issue.
You can be doing good business on swappa I was rated 4.5 stars always refunded buyer promptly if issues etc. There was no reason why my account should have been banned. I have had a ebay account for 6 years selling electronic like I do on swappa and never even came close to losing my account. But I have lost 3 swappa accounts with no explanation to why I lost any off them. This is how I make a living and they can't even give me a 30 second response of what I did wrong. $#*! them $#*! this company it's trash. Will continue to make accounts and waste their time
Bought three phones from Swappa. Great prices, mostly accurate descriptions and information. The one bit of bad information was not the sellers fault.
The Swappa team does everything in their power to make sure the phones are functioning and clean and legal and "as described." And they do everything they can to facilitate communication between buyer and seller and to make things easy for those looking for a good phone.
Just outstanding... wish every commercial / sale site on the net were run so well.
I've only used Swappa this one time so far, but the seller was awesome and I got exactly what I was looking for. He answered all of my questions about the phone and also included a free USB-C cable even though he didn't initially have it included in the listing. Swappa (along with the Seller's responses) helped me feel very confident in my purchase, and it's definitely a website that I recommend if you're looking to get a great deal on a used phone. I'll most likely be using it again in the future!
P.S. I see a some reviews here saying they had bad experiences, and that is bound to happen at times with all websites; if you do decide to use Swappa, I'd recommend looking for a seller that has good reviews, just like you would on any other website (the seller I went with had three reviews, all good, and it worked out great for me). Just be careful, and use Swappa as a tool to help you cut out some of the bad listings that you might see on other websites. :)
Swappa paints a picture of being safe, but really isn't. Their IMEI check doesn't catch phones with outstanding balances and they allow phones that are reported as replaced under warranty and therefore should be out of circulation. I tried 3 transactions on Swappa. First one was still attached to a prior owners account that had a balance and could not be activated without that being paid off. Swappa refused to help and I ultimately had to have our credit card step in to get a refund. In my second purchase, the buyer created a shipping label and provided tracking number but never shipped. Had to get a refund for that one from paypal... again no help from swappa, except to pass me off to paypal. Third try, the seller lied about the condition of the phone and the ability to activate it. I'm in process of having to return that one to get a refund. Too much hassle. Avoid this site -- I've had much better luck on eBay, which is saying something.
When buying from a private party one never knows what you might wind up with. With Swappa there are certain criteria that must be met in order to sell. This is very reassuring to me. I feel confident that the product is as promised. I was not disappointed. I would buy again from the seller and highly recommend him and Swappa.
Swappa is like a virtual gently used phone superstore! The attention to detail is what sets them above the rest: from the multiple pictures provided of the listed phones to the comprehensive checklist they have to make sure the customer is happy, and how each process is carefully documented. It's like if eBay's "Buy it now" listings had quality control. Great experience -- highly recommended.
Fantastic place, the phones are usually in great condition (as long as you buy one in good or better condition) and the use of Paypal makes it relatively safe.
I've bought I think 3 phones? I did have a slight issue with one iPhone being locked but the seller was very nice and gave me an immediate refund
I bought a new phone here and I was very satisfied with the entire experience. The used phone arrived in near perfect condition, as described. It really shows how well the Swappa moderators patrol their community to ensure sales are actually happening as described by the seller. Nothing sketchy like eBay.

Answer: Hi Peggy. If you receive a device that is not as advertised then you can return it for a refund. Our policy is that simple. Swappa staff works hard to prevent problems from happening, and PayPal has extensive buyer protections in case they do. Buy with confidence. Thanks for using Swappa.
Answer: Hi Alfred, Swappa requires all users to provide the ESN number for each device when creating a listing as a verification step. For more questions, please email our support team - help@swappa.com Thanks!
Answer: Very safe, I've bought and sold over 40 phones using Swappa and have only had one problem... When that happened both Swappa and PayPal had my back.
Answer: Yes, you should remove and keep your SIM card when you sell your used phone. SIM cards are tied to your account, so are not transferable. More information and why in our FAQ: https://swappa.com/faq/sell/sim_card_included
Answer: Because they are scammers and a holes. They can't be bothered with you. Awful site. Use eBay instead.
Answer: Swappa guarantees it which goes above and beyond paypal. They are running IMEI checks and they do a great job. It's on you when you receive your phone to go through the phone check list to make sure it's good, checking cameras, microphones wfi, bluetooth, water damage check, things like that. Its really worry free buying.
Answer: Contact Swappa support. If an item is not as described by seller, the buyer is entitle to a refund.
Answer: Most sellers don't ship to African countries. This is because they include a reasonable fee on their prices to cover for shipping in the US, I guess shipping to Africa would come at a higher cost and they seem to be avoiding that for whatever reason. However, you can research and register for a freight forwarding company and have your orders shipped to them. In turn, these companies will forward your order to you when they receive it. As I pointed out before, this is something you have to read about and carefully consider. Hope that helps.
Swappa has a rating of 4.1 stars from 3,177 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally satisfied with their purchases. Reviewers satisfied with Swappa most frequently mention great experience, new phone and mint condition. Swappa ranks 5th among Marketplace sites.
Hi Tilden, great to hear you saved money on Swappa! Thanks for the great review :)
