Swappa generally enjoys a positive reputation for offering a reliable platform for buying and selling used electronics, with many users appreciating the thorough vetting of devices and the ease of transactions. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly in response times and support during disputes, with numerous customers expressing frustration over unhelpful interactions and unresolved issues. Additionally, complaints about payment processing and discrepancies in product conditions highlight a need for improved communication and accountability. Overall, while many customers report satisfaction, the negative experiences suggest a critical need for enhanced customer support and service transparency.

I purchased an iPhone 6 Plus. I had searched on eBay but a friend told me to try SWAPPA instead. I was thrilled to find what I was looking for that was in my budget and excellent condition. I was able to make purchase with confidence and without waiting. Once I made the choice to buy, I paid using my pay pal account and received my phone in a few days! I will definitely recommend SWAPPA to my friends!
I've used Swappa a few times and always had a great experience. The sellers are honest, the Swappa support is very helpful (should you rarely need them). Swappa makes it easy to find the phone or tablet you want.
I have to admit that I had never heard of Swappa.com before. I was looking for a used iPhone on eBay, but had a lot of hesitation about bidding on a used eBay phone. Many sellers were selling their phones with no returns accepted.
As everyone knows, (slippery) iPhones get dropped all the time and the battery on a used phone is always suspect.
I just didn't feel comfortable risking an eBay phone so I searched further.
Then I found Swappa.com. Just smart phones. No bidding. Guaranteed to be as described.
Swappa.com instilled a lot more confidence in me to buy a used iPhone, and I ended up finding and purchasing the model and condition I was looking for.
Received the phone a few days later and it was exactly as described by the seller.
My experience was extremely positive and I wouldn't hesitate in using Swappa.com again.
I realize that each seller is a separate entity outside of their control, but I feel much more confident using swappa for a used smartphone sale than eBay.
This was my first purchase through Swappa. I had requested the ESN for the phone, and was chastised by the staff. I hadn't realized that there was a private sale page for the buyer and seller. The problem is that you don't get to that page until after the purchase has been made. I didn't get the ESN until after I had paid for the phone. Luckily, everything worked out. I was transferring the phone to Ting, so it wasn't just as simple as a clean ESN.
I bought an iPhone 6 Plus on swappa and am very pleased with the entire experience!
I'm telling my friends about this website great website good experience will definitely do it over again.
I bought a new phone here and I was very satisfied with the entire experience. The used phone arrived in near perfect condition, as described. It really shows how well the Swappa moderators patrol their community to ensure sales are actually happening as described by the seller. Nothing sketchy like eBay.
I'd heard of Swappa years ago but never really explored it until last summer when my son's Ipad stopped working and I needed to replace it on short notice. I found the best price on Swappa and even the color (black) that he wanted. It came quickly and in great condition. Since then I've purchased 2 more cell phones for myself and each time the transaction was completed quickly and to my great satisfaction. I'm sure I'll be coming back in the future!
Swappa staff is second to none in terms of supporting bias throughout the entire sale process. My experience was extremely favorable, and the website's seasoned staff we're extremely well-informed and eager to help, and Swappa's website layout, uncluttered and yet very informative.
Have made several purchases from swappa and I have been very satisfied with all the products I have purchased! I am huge supporter of amazon but have had better experiences buying my electronics with swappa then any other place. I highly recommend if looking to buy ipods or cell phones!
My Experience with swappa was smooth and beautiful I'd say it's a lot better than eBay and will definitely use it again and I recommend everybody to use it
Had a great experience with using this website! Phone was in mint condition. Easy to complete transaction and communicate with seller.
I recommend this site to anyone who consider purchasing used phone.
I buy too many phones, and Swappa is, as far as I'm concerned, the best place to find great deals on new/almost new/excellent devices.
I've used everything from Amazon To Craig's List to purchase items. This site has provided the best buying experience for gently used cell phones I've seen. The fact that Swappa actually holds sellers to a standard that is monitored and enforced makes purchasing items from strangers not so strange but civilized. I give it four stars because some cell phone models have slight variations that determine which features a phone has or doesn't have even though they have the same model name but different model numbers. The one nuisance. Swappa does not identify these details and forces the buyer to play Q&A detective trying to find out from the seller exactly which model number the phone actually is. If you're not careful you could end up buying a phone that is missing a key feature, a wanted feature or no LTE or even no 4G at all. Having to figure all of this out when a simple question or better yet a box with the possible options for the seller to check off in the seller phone description would solve this annoyance and speed up the decision making process for the buyer.
This sale went smoothly and I appreciated that swappa staff monitored along each point of contact to ensure a successful completion. The prices are better than ebay and probably because it cost less for a seller to do business here. People in the know are using swappa.
Swappa is a great site and it's employees are beyond exemplary
This is the second phone I have bought off Swappa. Both transactions were
Excellent. They appear to do their homework in checking out devises that
They post on their site. I am very pleased. I will try to sell a phone on the site in the future
Swappa's terms of sale are great. The site is very, very easy to use. The prices seem to be in line with CL around my area, so the bonus is I don't have to deal with sketchy people F2F... lol. Would recommend!
I've bought 2 phones through Swappa now, I like that there's a little more focus on collecting the ESN/IMIE codes to check the phone, pics required for listing, and the search/notification setup is very good. It's easy to find a specific phone and get instant alerts for when new listings come up (to react fast on the good deals ~ I've paid ~$30 under "trending" prices both times now). The email communication through the sale process is also good, might be considered "nagging" by some, but it's through. You're not ever really wanting for information.
Selling is a little different. They bill the site as cheaper than ebay, but that's only true once you get above a certain price point ($100 IIRC), and the phone I sold was $80. That was only a $2 difference, I realize, but it's also misleading advertising.
Still, my praise is high and my gripe is tiny. I know they are a Business and need to make money to stick around. Since most phones sell for well above $100, it's a good deal for the majority.

Answer: Very safe, I've bought and sold over 40 phones using Swappa and have only had one problem... When that happened both Swappa and PayPal had my back.
Answer: Yes, you should remove and keep your SIM card when you sell your used phone. SIM cards are tied to your account, so are not transferable. More information and why in our FAQ: https://swappa.com/faq/sell/sim_card_included
Answer: Because they are scammers and a holes. They can't be bothered with you. Awful site. Use eBay instead.
Answer: Swappa guarantees it which goes above and beyond paypal. They are running IMEI checks and they do a great job. It's on you when you receive your phone to go through the phone check list to make sure it's good, checking cameras, microphones wfi, bluetooth, water damage check, things like that. Its really worry free buying.
Answer: Contact Swappa support. If an item is not as described by seller, the buyer is entitle to a refund.
Answer: Most sellers don't ship to African countries. This is because they include a reasonable fee on their prices to cover for shipping in the US, I guess shipping to Africa would come at a higher cost and they seem to be avoiding that for whatever reason. However, you can research and register for a freight forwarding company and have your orders shipped to them. In turn, these companies will forward your order to you when they receive it. As I pointed out before, this is something you have to read about and carefully consider. Hope that helps.
The place to buy and sell newish tech. Safety, simplicity and staff-approved listing make Swappa the better way to buy and sell used phones, tablets, laptops, video games, home tech and more.
