I have to admit that I had never heard of Swappa.com before. I was looking for a used iPhone on eBay, but had a lot of hesitation about bidding on a used eBay phone. Many sellers were selling their phones with no returns accepted.
As everyone knows, (slippery) iPhones get dropped all the time and the battery on a used phone is always suspect.

I just didn't feel comfortable risking an eBay phone so I searched further.
Then I found Swappa.com. Just smart phones. No bidding. Guaranteed to be as described.

Swappa.com instilled a lot more confidence in me to buy a used iPhone, and I ended up finding and purchasing the model and condition I was looking for.

Received the phone a few days later and it was exactly as described by the seller.
My experience was extremely positive and I wouldn't hesitate in using Swappa.com again.

I realize that each seller is a separate entity outside of their control, but I feel much more confident using swappa for a used smartphone sale than eBay.

This was my first purchase through Swappa. I had requested the ESN for the phone, and was chastised by the staff. I hadn't realized that there was a private sale page for the buyer and seller. The problem is that you don't get to that page until after the purchase has been made. I didn't get the ESN until after I had paid for the phone. Luckily, everything worked out. I was transferring the phone to Ting, so it wasn't just as simple as a clean ESN.

I bought an iPhone 6 Plus on swappa and am very pleased with the entire experience!

I bought a new phone here and I was very satisfied with the entire experience. The used phone arrived in near perfect condition, as described. It really shows how well the Swappa moderators patrol their community to ensure sales are actually happening as described by the seller. Nothing sketchy like eBay.

I'd heard of Swappa years ago but never really explored it until last summer when my son's Ipad stopped working and I needed to replace it on short notice. I found the best price on Swappa and even the color (black) that he wanted. It came quickly and in great condition. Since then I've purchased 2 more cell phones for myself and each time the transaction was completed quickly and to my great satisfaction. I'm sure I'll be coming back in the future!

I've used everything from Amazon To Craig's List to purchase items. This site has provided the best buying experience for gently used cell phones I've seen. The fact that Swappa actually holds sellers to a standard that is monitored and enforced makes purchasing items from strangers not so strange but civilized. I give it four stars because some cell phone models have slight variations that determine which features a phone has or doesn't have even though they have the same model name but different model numbers. The one nuisance. Swappa does not identify these details and forces the buyer to play Q&A detective trying to find out from the seller exactly which model number the phone actually is. If you're not careful you could end up buying a phone that is missing a key feature, a wanted feature or no LTE or even no 4G at all. Having to figure all of this out when a simple question or better yet a box with the possible options for the seller to check off in the seller phone description would solve this annoyance and speed up the decision making process for the buyer.

I've bought 2 phones through Swappa now, I like that there's a little more focus on collecting the ESN/IMIE codes to check the phone, pics required for listing, and the search/notification setup is very good. It's easy to find a specific phone and get instant alerts for when new listings come up (to react fast on the good deals ~ I've paid ~$30 under "trending" prices both times now). The email communication through the sale process is also good, might be considered "nagging" by some, but it's through. You're not ever really wanting for information.

Selling is a little different. They bill the site as cheaper than ebay, but that's only true once you get above a certain price point ($100 IIRC), and the phone I sold was $80. That was only a $2 difference, I realize, but it's also misleading advertising.

Still, my praise is high and my gripe is tiny. I know they are a Business and need to make money to stick around. Since most phones sell for well above $100, it's a good deal for the majority.
