I usually don't like taking the time to write reviews but this was the first online buy for me that could have been risky. I've never used Swappa before and buying a $290 phone scared me with the amount of scam you find on the internet. I reviewed the site and decided on taking the possible risk. Everything went smoothly and I got my phone on time and in perfect condition. It activated, works fine, and looks amazing. I have absolutely no complaints.
After a little research, I was able to identify my best option for phone replacement at a reasonable rate. The phone arrived within days in perfect condition, unlocked, and ready to use on my Straight-Talk account with the 99-cent purchase of a sim card. I would definitely recommend Swappa to friends. Swappa is my "go to" store for used phones and has been since they came around in ~2011 or so. I've been both a buyer and a seller and have never had an issue. Swappa goes that extra mile, I think, to ensure that sellers' descriptions are accurate and honest. I'm a big fan.
Sold a phone and listed a couple other items, as well as browsed through offerings online, great on the seller side! You can find just about anything you're looking for, and the service is good. Much appreciated the customer service, even though I was told one of my items was too damaged to list.

I was looking for an LG V10 android smartphone. They are hard to find used and in excellent condition; its a newer release. E-Bay's prices were a bit too high, and I had lost a couple during auction. E-Bay's "buy it now" prices were steep. I really wanted the phone and found it on Swappa at a very competitive price. While the phone only came with battery and charger, I did not need the rest of the accessories. The phone was mint, activated easily, packaging was excellent, and I am one happy buyer. I will visit Swappa again in the future.

I sold my like-new iphone 5 for a LOT more money than I could sell it for on any other site. It not only sold for a good bit of money, they only charge a $10 fee and my phone sold in about 2 or 3 hours.The only weird thing was that the buyer pays through paypal before you send the phone, which in my opinion opens the door for people to just take your money and not send the phone but I assumed they had some sort of system in place if that happened. Luckily it didn't with me, i would highly recommend using this site, at least to sell!
I was a bit hesitant to shop though any website and especially not have the seller go through with what was said but as promised purchase came in excellent condition. Definitely going to recommend this website to friends.
I've been selling devices on Swappa for the past 2 to 3 years and I never had a bad experience. They always take care of me and the process is really simple. It's only a $10 fee for posting any cellular device. It's safe secure and I recommend to everyone. Another good thing about the site is before you can post your phone to sell you have to submit your IMEI. So if your device is locked to a carrier or financed you won't be able to sell it.

I've now bought my second used phone from Swappa. And once again, it was very pleasant experience. I've bought many used over the years from various places, but I think I will exclusively buy from Swappa from now on. All items have been as described and probably better than described. I always feel that I know exactly what I'm buying. I can't say that about other retail sites. Sellers are responsive, motivated, and provide fast shipping. The whole experience is painless and worry-free. I highly recommend Swappa.
First impressions are important, and swappa made a great first impression. The site is clean with an easy to use and understand layout. Knowing the products you buy have to meet certain criteria before being eligible for sale was a huge plus. Made 2 purchases, both shipped the next day and both were exactly in the condition listed. There isn't an easier way to buy a used phone and reap the rewards of a phone's second life. A like-new Nexus 5 with wireless charger for less than $200 is a home run. This is my second phone that I have purchased from Swappa. It won't be my last.

I buy/sell in the neighborhood of 10-12 phones per year. With Ebay there is virtually no control and no way to know if you're going to get what you have purchased, or a monster of a device that was given an inaccurate description. Then TRY and file a claim with them and PayPal. Good luck. With Swappa, I have NEVER had an issue on either end of the deal. They go the extra mile to monitor each sale and ensure that you are getting a quality device. As far as I am concerned, I am a Swappa fan for life! Now if only they had an app...
Call me an old fart but I was really apprehensive about buying a "used" phone online. It was easy, the phone is flawless and I no longer have to pay my wireless provider 2-3 times as much over a two year period to buy a phone from them. Great service
So far, I have bought two phones & sold one on swappa.com. I think that the way Swappa conducts business allows for someone to buy & sell devices with confidence. The process is a little different than a typical online store, but I believe it helps to hold the buyer accountable to pay what is agreed upon, and the seller to produce what they are describing on the ad. As with all online transactions, doing your research on who you are buying or selling from is vital to a smooth transaction. Swappa helps with that by providing a rating system, and requiring pictures with model #'s to ensure you are buying what is described. I will definitely continue to use swappa.com to buy & sell electronic devices.

Turning to eBay and Craigslist proved perilous and time-wasting for buying mobile phones.
