It had been a long time since I bought something with PayPal when I went to buy a new phone on Shappa. I updated my credit card info and billing address as prompted by PayPal, but didn't know that PayPal also stored another address called a primary address and I was not prompted to update that one. When you buy something on Shappa, you don't have the option to enter a shipping address. That comes from PayPal, and PayPal gave the Shappa website an old address as my shipping address. There's no way to fix this on the website, and Shappa customer service wouldn't help me change it either. They told me to work it out with the seller, which I tried to do, but he mailed the device to the wrong address before he checked the emails I sent him 3 days prior. I had to run all over town from post office to post office trying to intercept the package before it got delivered to the wrong address. Just make sure you are very familiar with your PayPal account and you know that all of the different addresses stored in your profile are current. If PayPal shares the wrong address with Shappa, you're at the mercy of the seller to get it shipped to the right address, because Shappa will not help you correct it.
I have not had one negative experience! I bought two Iphones and 6 ipods for family members as well as myself. I love Swappa!
Needed same model phone as original which was hosed in a software update. That on an unrooted unrommed device running stock OS. Located same, of course, in used condition.
Communication and transaction were transparent. Sale concluded smoothly. Shipping was anxiety provoking by Priority mail. This was due to the the postal service not scanning or logging the progress of the shipment in an ongoing manner.
This of all my concerns weighed most. I stated definitively that the Swappa managers should hold to shipping by the most reliable carrier with regular tracking updates. This leaves certain services behind.

Heard about Swappa, was looking for a LG v10 to replace my Nexus 5. I was able to save $250 off the retail price just because the bottom of the phone had a small scratch. Swappa was monitoring every message sent between the seller and myself to make sure the transaction was going good. Will definitely buy through Swappa again.

This was my was my second purchase on swappa, and both times I receive the phone in near perfect condition. Even better than the seller described, I purchase phone on eBay and when I received it. It was either reported lost or stolen, swappa's way of making the phones be verified by the seller, save you from being scammed so easy. Anytime I'm looking for a phone in the future are whenever, swappa will be my first choice.
Every one has the feeling of how a second hand mobile/tablet will be. But Swappa sellers post multiple pictures of the device we are interested in. A real close up photos help us to take a decision on the purchase. I recommend swappa for sure :)
Honestly, it's stupid to pay full retail for a phone. I have been on Swappa for years and have never had a problem. They have an incredible staff, the transactions are protected and the feedback system adds quite a bit of value. What's not to like?
