I absolutely LOVE Swap.com my first experience was a couple of weeks ago. I have ordered three times already. It's had being on a fixed income with growing children. But Swap.com has saved the day!
Oh yes wonderful experience buying clothes that the site don't pay the person who sent it thats called stealing. SWAP gets 100% profit. I sent 10 pounds of clothes was returned 3 pounds and the rest is GONE. SWAP kept 11 pieces. The 10 pounds of clothes were all 6 months and under ALOT of CLOTHES. Going to thredup
I loved the idea of a website like this, my kids grown out of clothes so fast it's too crazy buying everything new. I ordered nearly $200 worth of clothing and toys from the website. I went to check out and 6 items in my cart was bought out from under me. It was okay though because I was still happy, until now.
The day after purchase I received an email saying one or more of my items was now unavailable and a refund would be given. I was disappointed about that. Again on the second day after purchase (and after receiving an email saying my order has been shipped) I received yet another email saying a shirt/short combo was now unavailable and I would be given a refund.
My problem is this, I understand that this is a used clothing website and that people can buy clothes in your cart until you pay for them but why AFTER paying are the items I ordered still being bought and refunds given? I have yet to receive any refunds.
It seems like a good idea in theory but realistically, the warehouse/website doesn't seem to be updated enough to prevent "unavailable items" from making it worth buying on the site. I can probably expect half my order to actually arrive at this rate.
I've ordered quite a bit from of childrens clothing from swap and everything has been just as described. I am very pleased with the quality and timely shipping!
I have ordered 9 items between 2 orders for less 50$, items were in good to excellent condition. Quality/price is definitely worth it, especially if you have children!

Good clothes, some with tags, prices & service so far no problems. I'm satisfied with Swap.Com, I just finished placing another order. Thanks Swap.Com.

I have ordered three or four times and was very happy with the items, service, time of receiving items. Will continue shopping here as the prices are fantastic.
I used to order from this website on a semi-regular basis. Recently I ordered some winter clothing and a couple of pairs of jeans. The confirmation email told me I would have my items by no longer than October 21st. Here it is November 3rd and I have yet to receive a shipping notification let alone my items. Getting in contact with anybody in regards to this matter has been like pulling teeth. Out of frustration I responded to one of their many text messages in regards to sales and I surprisingly got a living breathing individual. I then proceeded to get bounced around to four different departments before getting a straight answer. I informed them that maybe it is a good idea to not include a shipping date in the confirmation email if they can't stick to it. Keeping my fingers crossed in regards to the items themselves. This used to be a decent service, they have fallen off quite a bit since the start of the crap. It's a real shame. I don't feel comfortable recommending this online service to any of my loved ones anymore.
As a first time customer, I clicked on their "40% off order" in exchange for giving them my personal information- email address and cell phone number. Two major problems: First, the code I was given was bogus- it did not take anything off my order. Complained to customer service and they credited my debit card, but only for part of what they owed me claiming that part of my order did not qualify for the discount. THERE WERE NO EXCLUSIONS DISCLOSED BEFORE I GAVE THEM MY PERSONAL INFORMATION. When I complained, they have refused to respond. I finally had to file a complaint with the BBB all for $38 that they owe me. Very unprofessional and dishonest seller. You will have much better luck at thredup.com for gently used clothing. I attached a screen shot showing their offer that does not mention any exclusions (at bottom of photo). Clearly a dishonest bait and switch tactic.
Up until a few months ago Swap was a great site for sellers. It is AWFUL now. They are taking 3-4 months to process items sent in therefore summer clothes sent in at the beginning of the season are not getting online until fall! They have also Drastically cut the payout percentages to sellers from 70% to 30%. They used to give preference to frequent sellers by processing their boxes quickly but they cancelled that to. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THEM
Complete scam. Fees & more fees. Items stolen. Rude customer service. THEY fix prices to make THEM more money but not you. This needs investigated for FRAUD!
Hello,
We sincerely apologize your selling experience has been less than satisfactory. We do price all items for our sellers, however, if you disagree with a price, you can inquire to assistance@swap.com with an item number, and we will review the pricing of an item. Please, refer to the commission structure in our help center for more information. Any not accepted items are held on your account for 14 days. During this period, you have the ability to either donate the items, or ship them back to yourself. If you believe an item is not on your account, we can also look into that for you after your email to assistance@swap.com.
Have a great day!
My original order had 5 items but one item must not have been available and a partial return on my order for this one item was given.
I received 4 pair of pants, all of which were supposed to be size 24. Only 1 pair was the correct size. One pair of pants was XS - Waist 24-25 inch, NOT SIZE 24. The 2nd was a pair of jeans which were 24 x 33 inch, NOT SIZE 24.
The 3rd pair of pants was brand denim 24/7, size 16W, NOT SIZE 24. All of these sizes were on tags on each pair of pants.
I wanted to return these 3 items due to the incorrect size from what was stated on their website, but because of the partial refund they had issued for an item that was unavailable, it would not allow me to get to their return portal. Also, the only contact is to send an email, which so far, has not been answered.
This is not the first time they have sent items that are not as stated on their website, but they wouldn't let me return or receive a refund for them. This is the last time I will order from Swap.com.
For $63 I got a shirt, 4 dresses and 4 pairs of heels.
Brands:
Shirt: Fifth Sun
Dresses: Love Rocks, Xhilaration, Rue 21, Ya Los Angeles
Shoes: Guess, Charlotte Russe, Candies, Chinese Laundry
9 items for $63. Super cute stuff.
How does the site and the sellers afford to sustain at such amazing prices and high quality items? I would never get deals like this at any thrift store, not even Goodwill.
Happy I found this site and it's refreshing to see such positivity about a site like this in these times. Even their BBB rating is top notch. SWAP.COM - DOING IT RIGHT.
I purchased a JJill dress that looked prisitine from the photograph. I purchased and when received garment was extensively pilled, scruffy, washed out, and fabric no longer supple- all indications of a garment at the end of its life. I extensively buy JJill items for their quality, but eventually even quality garments reach end of life- this garment was NOT appropriate for resale at any price.
This company started out okay but has since grown into a very dishonest "company". First they do not donate anything, the resell it for their own profit! They will cut the tags off of your brand new items and send them back to you stained and gross! They will tell you they will except certain items and then throw it into their reject pile (gee wonder why?). They recently raised their sellers fees and you would think they would employ more help. Nope, for over a month they have been accepting boxes with confirmation they would be processed in 10-15 days. SEVERAL people's boxes have been "lost" in this process and several are still waiting and it has been over a month for the boxes to be processed, yet they charge you your fee as soon as it hits their back door. Of course, this works out to their advantage b/c now you can't sell your seasonal items b/c they have sat there for a month or so and Swap can offer you pennies while they turn around and sell it other places. Yes, they do sell on other websites and locally. There was also a post on their page several weeks ago about a lady who found her rejected items that were supposed to be donated listed for sale somewhere. Of course swap removed that post as well. DISHONEST... you are better having a yard sale and selling it for $1.00 or donating to a charity of your choice so that you can claim it yourself, than getting involved with these people.
I tried this site after the reviews online and sent in some new items and like new. After their assessment I learned i was due to make $2.00 - they rejected some very good clothing and accepted items with tags on them and sold them and I have not heard anything nor did they respond to an email complaint about their poor review of my bag (like new name brand clothing like Children's place, and brand new clothes as well). I had another new bag set to go out to them (all new and new shoes plus halloween costumes) and will NOT send them as i feel ripped off and this is only benefitting Swap.com. Who gets only $2 (which i have not received) for over four new items? If they say they give $1 per item, that is a minimum of $4.00 right there so I have no clue how people make any money off of their clothing on this site. I would rather donate locally then send a for profit company my childrens new with tags clothes to make $2.00. Which i have no idea how to receive, as if it matters at this point. Will not sell or shop with them again.
I have been a buyer and a seller on this site and would highly recommend! They make the process so incredibly easy. I love that when I purchase and receive items they are each bagged, like you would have if you ordered online from a retail store. I've never purchased any items listed as "fair", but I have purchased those listed as "good" and have been very pleased with their condition. I feel like overall their quality control is very good. I was also surprised to see they accept returns which seems rare in similar sites. I will say it did take awhile for me to get a refund on an item I returned... not sure why that was... but my account eventually did get credited. I like that the shipping rates are reasonable; I mean where else can you send a box over 50 pounds and only get charged $8? I also like the recent change they made where that amount is deducted from my earnings. I do wish when they reject items I've sent, that those items could be sent to me along with an order I place... so, let's say I place an order over $50 that qualifies for free shipping, I would like to be able to have my rejected items included in that box. I hope they'll consider that option at some point. I also hope they'll consider accepting adult items soon; if they could maintain the quality and customer service adding that as a feature, I think it would be a goldmine for them and certainly make my life easier!
Just finished my second visit to Swap.com and found more great bargains, this site is awesome... can't wait to get my new order in. Which won't be long because shipping is fast!
Do NOT send anything of any value to them. The payouts take forever and they are not fair, and you will always owe them money for their "inbound" fee. Use ThredUp instead.
I noticed recently that my orders from SWAP have several items suddenly unavailable after I paid for them. I got an email saying those items would not be sent because they were unavailable. To add to that annoyance, I am now disputing charges on my credit card because SWAP thinks it's ok to refund your payment for items they notify you aren't being shipped at all as STORE CREDIT. How on earth is it ok for them to take a credit card payment for goods they don't send and then keep the money?
Answer: I have only placed one order so far. I ordered 10 blouses. I returned 5, due to size issues. All 10 blouses were nice, but 5 did not fit quite right due to different manufacturer's. You need to get an RMA # for returns. I was promptly refunded my money for the 5 blouses. I would order again in the future. I am not aware of any return quantity restrictions. Hope this helps.
Answer: If you want to sell clothes, all the information is on their website. Basically, they get a percentage and then they pay you thru an existing PayPal account that you set up.
Answer: Hi Patricia, We are on about a 55-60 day delay in processing inbound shipments. When your items are processed, you will be notified via email that they are ready to be priced. Have you sent an email to our support team at assistance@swap.com yet? A member of our team can look up your account information and give you a better idea of exact when you can expect to see your items. Thank you, Lauren Swap.com Support Manager
Answer: Same here, I sent a box in June and have received nothing nothing saying it was accepted or rejected absolutely nothing. I've sent 5 emails and nothing. I will be contacting the better business bureau as well.
Answer: I don't think so. I've sold and from my experience it varies. The things that I thought would sell first, haven't sold yet. It varies by what people are looking for at the time. I've bought all different seasons at random times. I buy by what's a great deal. When selling, group like items together. I've noticed multiple things sell first.
Answer: Hi Jo, That is correct. You can return items that do not fit as long as you request the return within 30 days. We will send you a pre-paid UPS shipping label to send back your return free of charge. Once the return is received, we will refund your card within five (5) business days. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at assistance@swap.com. We are happy to help! Best, Matt
Answer: There's no way for them to go over prices. They have to see the items and determine from going over it, if it's acceptable, once it's accepted, then you have to determine the price you want to sell it for. You could try searching on their site for similar items and see what they are priced at. I did notice when pricing my items that I'd get a little notice with recommended prices, which was very helpful. I didn't have a good experience selling but many others have. Make sure you take pictures of your items, that's very important. I appreciated that their site is set up to allow you to take back your items if you changed your mind about selling them. I'm in the process of getting back my items. Hopefully it works out well and I get all my items back.

Hi Melissa,
Apologies for the inconvenience the situation caused you. It is unfortunate you experienced it. So far this has happened to us only in a handful of cases, about 1 in 5000. In your case, you have been already contacted about it and the refund has already been processed. We hope you'd not be fully discouraged and would still be willing to shop on Swap.com. Sorry again for the inconvenience.
Sincerely,
Henni
