Slow delivery
July 6, 2023

I ordered on June 28th 2023 and they got my money immediately. It took them 10 days to get from Pennsylvania to Oklahoma City. I will never use this website again because they use FedEx and it's a very slow process. Today is July 6th and my vitamins are still not here and I don't care if July 4th was in there everybody knows people work on July 4th. First class mail takes six days to get from one Coast to the other and if you don't sign up for all perks they slow down your delivery. Goodbye Swanson I can order from the manufacturers your vitamins aren't that great

Since I wrote my review Swanson no longer sends me their Vitamin Book that they have sent me since 1969. ( once a month) Their products are not what they used to be and neither is their customer service. They should be investigated again.

I have ordered products from this company for many years. Within the last several years the customer service, product quality, and even the shipping has gone completely downhill. This used to be a good company. Not any longer. I do not advise doing any business here.

Bait and switch
March 5, 2020

Have ordered from Swanson's in the past. Received a VIP letter for a "Sitewide 25% discount". Put over $300 worth of product in my cart, entered VIP code, and discount was only 20.00. I called customer service as the math was not working out and was told of the many exclusions and exceptions... so much for "Sitewide". No order and don't appreciate false advertising.

I clicked on an email from Swanson offering 25% off through the end of the day. I ordered 5 items and each appeared in my cart with the 25% off price. I placed the order and the receipt showed a higher charge for each item than I had been shown. I called Swanson and was told I had responded to a 15% off promotion. There was no mention of 15% off during the entire web session. So the prices are fine until you place the order, then Swanson converts them to higher prices, assuming you won't notice the difference. I have seen this several times before so I'm careful to check the receipts.
The products seem fine but their business ethics are non-existent.

Swansons was a reputable company up until a few years ago, when founder Lee Swanson retired and sold it to sharks. Now they often ship products that are expired or soon to be expired. I bought 20 bottles of their "Deal of the Day" at the end of June. They all expired August 1st! When I called the CSR apologized for my inconvenience. I told her that this was no inconvenience, it was outright fraud. Of course there was no supervisor available come to the phone.

Swanson makes good products at a good price. I don't have any problems ordering well in advance to get them on time. But I do have problems when I place an order, receive a thank you -- and then the order is blown off by the company and NEVER shipped! Today makes the 3rd time this has happened. If you still want to order from these folks, please remember to save copy of your order and verify. You'll be able to re-order timely in case your order was tossed by their "system". Plus you'll remember what you ordered in the first place so you can duplicate. Their discounts are a joke -- they say you get them --- but you DON'T!

I was an avid customer of Swanson's for years & years. I still believe that the products are good. Their website has given me a lot of problems. I tried to use their service of paying through Amazon. It didn't work. It cost me much time to get things straightened out. I had to call Amazon. It was Swanson's fault but they blamed Amazon. There are many times I have had issues with them. BE CAREFUL I have gotten afraid to shop there because I go from problem to problem.

Poor Service
July 14, 2021

I had 2 recent orders from them that were lost, but when I contacted them they sent out the orders again and I received them. Just a hassle trying to get my orders. I ordered again on June 27th of this year, and have been waiting. I emailed them but got no response. I called today and on the automated order tracker it said that it was still processing. I then called again to talk to customer service, and the lady on the phone informed me that because of a payment issue back in November 2020, my order had been cancelled. I tried to reason with her, and she kept repeating the same thing over and over like she was reading from a script. "I am sorry, ma'am, but because of the payment issue in November 2020 this order was cancelled." I got really angry, and she kept saying the same thing over and over. Told her I have been a good customer for a long time, but will not be ordering any more from swanson vitamins.

I ordered cat's claw, and got White Willow Bark instead. I got in touch with customer service. They just refunded the difference in price instead of correcting their mistake. I am a drop in the sea for them, but they have no shame or ethics...

I tried to order vitamins that a doctor recommended I get for headaches. One of my family members ordered it for me, since I am currently struggling financially. They didn't ship the vitamins though because they said "the address needs to match the card." I can't believe in 2021 this still happens. I would have been happy to verify on the phone that yes, this is my address no card has been stolen and my family would have been happy to verify additional info but this shouldn't need to be done at all. Does this place not understand that sometimes you order something for someone else? Such a stupid store that I am never wasting my time at again. I cancelled my order and ordered somewhere else that gave us no trouble at all. Also, if a credit card was stolen why would someone order non expensive vitamins of all things?

Your bank account, or credit card, will be double charged. It is the doings of Swanson, not your bank since you probably know already not to go negative without problems. Your account might charge daily overdraft fees if you don't figure on that policy. There are other sources that don't do that. The second charge drops off, but possibly too late. Prices are average. If a credit card is overdrafted past the monthly statement date they might have to turn it in to your credit report.

Do not purchase liquids!

1. "40% off most products". Didn't work, even when product was not in the exceptions list...
2. Shop Runner doesn't work.
3. When ordering liquids, the liquids are not packed in a padded bag, so if they break. You're on your own.
4. When notifying customer service and pleading for a replacement that this time should be packed properly, they send the replacement. Packed just the way they did before. Luckily this time the liquids weren't all over the place...

LIED TO Customers are lied to by Swanson and told shipments "went out" and another story for "shipped". "Went out" simply means order was placed outside the Swanson building on a trailer owned by Swanson, where it sits as many days as it takes to fill it up. I investigated this thoroughly. Then packages cannot be tracked when Swanson tells customer it was "shipped" because it was not really "shipped." It is still in the hands of Swanson for many days after customer told it "went out" or was "shipped." This is why orders cannot be tracked normally like any other package from any other company.

I have been taking vitamins and supplements for over 10 years and have a lot of experience with different companies, brands, supplements, ingredients, etc. Before Swansons, I was paying around $40 a bottle for high quality vitamins-don't get me wrong they were great-but extremely expensive and not worth the money. Swansons has high quality supplements at an affordable cost. Shipping was quick and easy.

It used to be a good company but now they take 10 days at least for delivery, the stuff gets transferred to the post office and comes in a beaten up box, sometimes oil is leaking from bottles because they no longer use the plastic wrap around any of the supplements. The bottle tops are loose, if they damage things with a bottle of oil leaking, they do nothing about it. Today was the LAST time I will use this company, and it is sad as I have been with them for about 25 years. I paid the big fee for 2-day shipping to get around their long shipping problems and they shipped ONE item 2-day shipping and will end up shipping the other 20 or so items long haul, ten day shipping. So they charged me the $14.99 and just sent one supplement on 2-day shipping. It is get getting worse and worse.

This company is a total rip-off you order product they send you half the stuff and then try to dispute saying, they put the items in the customer service people are the worst ever there so rude, they have no knowledge of good customer service policies anyone planning to order before they will rip you off and then your out of money and vitamins, They always try to blame someone else for there lack of good business practise. If you planning on buying vitamins don't use them they will take your money then rip you off.

What a disaster.

Late packages that I was waiting on to leave for a trip. Account charged 2xs. Not sure what this company is doing but it is a hot mess. And their reviews say they have so many stars compared to the reviews here. If I would change them for all the time I had spent on this. I would get my product for free, and then some

Horrible service!

I was punished for daring to contact them by email simply because of their tracking problems. Then they made me pay for asking them for the return address by challenging me that the item has not gotten in. They told me that I was wrong and made fun over my name and then demanded that I tell them the person's name who was rude to me. They then made me read their strict no refund after thirty days guidelines and welcome me to send the items back at my own expense. It will be the last time I shall want to buy from them again!

Poor Customer Service
December 31, 2016

I have to give them a low rating because of customer service. I have been ordering vitamins for years and I in error placed an order with a wrong item and immediately contacted them to fix the order and they couldn't do it. Why? It was within minutes. They said I had to keep it or send it back which cost me shipping charges. I have been ordering online for years and most companies have a grace period time for you to make changes. That's unacceptable.
