I wanted to purchase my home in Tampa Florida. I called and got a quote from Seth Plato. The quote was for $3200 a year. I accepted the pool, and they sent out an inspector after they told me they were not going to send out one. After the inspection, the inspector said that I needed to get new electrical wires and fuse box both inside and out which cost $12,000. I had the house rewired it took a week. I then closed on my house and thought everything was fine. Seth calls me up and says that they are going to raise my insurance $600 which was totally unacceptable. They then send another inspector out a few weeks later and the inspector said that I needed to repair a crack and paint the house, this should've been brought to my attention prior to closing on the house in the first place intern cost me more money. The insurance company is State Farm and the actual insurance is through citizens bank. And all the years that I owned home insurance I've never had to go through this. This is the worst home insurance company that I've ever had to deal with and will be looking for a different insurance company in the near future.
Use literally any other service. I have had State Farm for 11 years. They are never, EVER on your side and absolutely DO NOT fight for you. They literally let all of these no-name insurance companies walk all over them. They will call you and put you on the spot and try to get you to say the wrong thing. I know nothing about the mechanics of a car and I tell them that over and over again but they insist I answer questions I don't have the answer to and when you call a part the wrong thing, they then take that as facts and refuse to pay for it. I am a 27 year old female. I don't know the ins and outs of cars. Bottom line here is: FIND AN INSURANCE COMPANY THAT WILL ACTUALLY FIGHT FOR YOU. END OF STORY.
First I want to mention - I have been a Customer of STATE FARM for over 30+ years, and recently I had to file a claim against my Homeowners insurance for almost 11,000.00. I took the two cheapest Quotes from vendors to fix my home, and I was told before I could get paid I would need to sign contracts with them. After I signed the contracts and sent them to STATE FARM this is what I received.
I received this in Email for 11,000+ in Damages to my home!

My local agent's office is great but Statefarm is an overpriced joke. 10 years, no claims, no tickets and nothing but jacked up rates. Run as fast as you can from this place.
BAD FAITH INSURERS stay away they don't care, there claims processing are the scum of scum. They are only interested in saving a dollar for themselves Do yourself a favor and find another ins company worst I've ever dealt with and I've had ins for over 30 years! LIARS where they lie with a smile on their face. Lord have mercy on these souls and give me what I need to keep praying for this kind and not to get hateful! Cuz people let me tell ya My exp with State Farm was HORRIBLE I paid them to protect me they not only did not do what the policy and law states they make you feel awful and try to make it your fault and bad cuz you had an "ACCIDENT" its just what the name says "accident" for the love of pete!
After being a customer for over 40 years my wife and I had our policies canceled by State Farm. No claims for most of those years.
I have been a customer of State Farm for 47 years. I have had homeowners, renters and automobile insurance.
Brent Dixons office is fantastic. They do their best to help you and make you a happy customer. The problem is with their claims office who i think are complete jerks.
We had a major hail storm in April 2023. I had three independent roofers look at my roof. Each roofer said I had significant hail storm damage on the back of my roof and the roof needs to be replaced. State Farm wrote in one report that there was significant damage to the back side of the roof but they sent me a letter saying there was no sign of any hail damage.
Meanwhile, neighbors on both sides of me are getting new roofs on their house. State Farm claims office pretty much told me to go blank myself and not call them back.
As far as automobile insurance they are fantastic. They have always paid with no problems.
I am shopping around for new homeowners and automobile insurance.
I absolutely would NOT NOT NOT recommend anyone to state farm.
I have never experienced such professional and totally comprehensive service from any insurance agency ever! In particular I am so happy to have Grace R Estupinan as my agent - she is quite perfect in every way and always helps me, no matter how small the matter is - I can't recommend the Bill Hagen Agency enough to all AAAAA+++++
Stay away from this agency and State Farm. They are useless in all matters. They are especially useless when it comes to problems and issues. If you have a "Payment plan", they will charge you a different amount each month with no explanations whatsoever. When asked for an explanation as to WHY each month's payment number is different, they don't provide an answer other than they will look into it. They never do and they never get back to you. This agency and State Farm has now caused me to lose 10 days of work, and has forced my son to miss 10 days of school because of their incompetence. They have no clue what they are doing, and they will cause you many hours of problems. I thought going with a local agency after 31 years with Liberty Mutual would be a good thing. Boy, was I wrong. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired and they refuse to get back to anyone concerning issues or problems. They will be happy to provide you a phone number so YOU can try and resolve problems, but they will not lift a finger to help you. They walk away from problems and instead rely on the customer to take care of it. I had a policy with them for 19 months and will not be renewing it because of the lack of help and service from this agency. Go to another insurance agency that values your business. This agency could care less about your business. There are many insurance companies that value your business. This is NOT one of them. You have been advised.
30 plus years with State farm and they can not match or beat competitive prices with the SAME exact coverage, what happen to loyalty, disgraceful,
I support Geico! And will promote them.
I was hit by a State Farm Customer while I was legally parked. Horrible to deal with,,,they wait you out and frustrate you as much as they can. Stay away!
For the past few months, I have been over charged. I am disabled and my car has not been driven due to my health. On July 3rd, It happened again. As to where the billing department was blamed yet again. After being upset.( coming home from the hospital after surgery, I rec. My mail) I contacted the office and there was a discrepancy about how their negligence, made my bank account to be frozen, so money placed in my account as not to be overdrawn.($125.00) Plus a fee of $30.00 to unfreeze my account. The documents where emailed to the agents. Including a letter from the bank stating such. I was then met with attitude from the agents after getting up against the doctors orders and when to the bank to get them the letter, they described. After which they told me I needed a bank statement to say the same thing the rec. Slips & deposit slip, as the letter from the bank clearly stated. I gave them what they asked for and now they act as if it was their money that was taken. I got a lame reply "ok we can return part of your loss." Not nearly as much as I lost because of them. This is a very unprofessional way to run a company.
Our family has been loyal to this company for years. This year we were effected by Hurricane Florence and forced to mandatory evacuation.
We called our insurance (State Farm) and they informed us to keep receipts of everything and we would be reimbursed. We decided to leave as it was a mandatory evacuation.
After the all clear we returned to our home with some damage and called State Farm back. All of a sudden they had amnesia and told us they don't cover evacuation. It wasn't until we demanded our previous conversation recording for our lawyer THEN they said they would help us. It's now two weeks later they won't respond to our calls and we've been hurting tremendously. A family of 5 (3 children youngest an infant) evacuating for safety took a toll on us financially. They haven't even reimbursed food spoilage which is on the policy! Needless to say we are left with absolutely nothing and can't apply for FEMA because we have insurance!
2 weeks after the hurricane thanks to our trust in this company we are digging into our loan we had to pull out.
Taking our business elsewhere since they seem to not care about families or military members especially during a crisis.
State Farm Insurance...been a customer since 2011, 12 long years. You have been hiking my insurance consistently for the last 18 months. In all that time, I have NEVER had a claim against me, my property, or even a ticket from law enforcement.
When I called you on the phone to explain why you told me this: "It's because of inflation, and many claims that are expensive to repair and we are passing that on to all our customers in Texas!" Ginny Thompson - Boerne, Texas and Josh Pick, Bandera Texas both said the same thing.
So, basically, what you are saying is you took a bad insurance risk, insured someone who cost you money on claims and your answer is to penalize your pristine policy holders who have NEVER had a claim. Unacceptable.
You lost me as a customer. I found a company that is quality, well-known, and who covered my house with 3 times the coverage at 1/3 of the price of State Farm and insured my cars at 1/2 of your price with more coverage for them as well. Total savings per year: $1200.00.
I guess they recognize a quality customer and grabbed me. See State Farm! Keep passing those costs of bad customers to good ones and from what I hear you are losing Texas Customers in droves. Now you know why.
Biggest con artists in the insurance industry. They'll throw you into an insurance pot with every DUI/ Drug addict who has minimal insurance and base your price and claims along with these idiots.
I have had & still having the worst experience with State Farm then I have ever had with A insurance company! The Tow truck Driver that State Farm Contracted to pick up my jeep never strapped it Down & it rolled right off of the back of the Roll back & my jeep suffered A lot more Damage & State Farm Does not seem to want to deal with it the right way & I have been with out my jeep now for going on 3 + months & I feel like I just keep getting Screwed around by State Farm & I even have A video of the Tow company not strapping it down & also doing more Damage to my jeep & State Farm seems to be still trying to cover it up & I am so tired of it! I also got recordings of State Farm Employees giving me A run Around.
If you all think SF is hard to deal with on auto issues you better pray that your house doesn't burn down...Ours did and it's been a COMPLETE NIGHTMARE dealing with SF...We had a total loss and found out the 200k worth of contents insurance that we paid for was a lie... If you don't have a picture or receipts for everything in the house, then you get nothing...They don't just right you a check for 200k...the things you can prove you had They depreciate it so much its unbelievable...I'm just at a loss for words...My wife and I stood in the neighbors yard and watched our home burn to the ground, now I think the biggest nightmare of the whole thing was dealing with SF...The adjuster came to the house the following morning and saw it was a total loss, yet anytime we have received anything from them they mail it to the burned down house so it has to be forwarded and takes us longer to receive it...They have the address of our rental since they are paying for it so why not send it there so we can get back on our feet...they say allow 7-10 days to receive anything they mail...WTF, are they mailing it pony express...I think I should have 7-10 days to pay my bill to them...Total $#*!s
Hi my name is Jonathan Burton I went to 251 East 138th Street Bronx New York State farm office it was the easiest time I ever had to get auto insurance in my life Hielly Martinez made me feel very comfortable and like I was part of a family I recommend anyone who is looking for auto insurance to go to the address in the Bronx and see Hielly Martinez and see what I'm talkin about God bless thank you for the respectful experience
I locked my keys in the car, which is something I have done many times. Having to call someone for help is never fun but with State Farm it was pure frustration! I have never been treated like this in my life. I waited 5 hours. 5 HOURS! Initially I was told they would arrive in 60-90 mins…after 90 mins I was told it would be an additional hour. After THAT hour I called crying and was told help was on their way. Soon nobody came and I received a text saying it would be another 40 mins. That's when I freaked. I was stuck in a parking lot completely alone…the business had closed hours prior, I needed to use the bathroom and had no access to one. I called AGAIN crying and was told another 40 mins. Then the locksmith texted saying he was 35 miles away and would be with me soon…then texted saying he was stuck in traffic. I checked the traffic report and saw nothing. An hour later he said he was 6 miles away. 30 mins later he arrived and didn't even look at me…or speak to me…that was probably best as I was ready to SCREAM! AAA never treated me like this. WORSE SERVICE EVER! I'd rate this at a NEGATIVE 5 stars.
I've been a State Farm customer for many years. Never had a problem probably because I've never had a claim. I recently set up an online acct because I wanted to view my payment/billing history because it seems I am being nickel/dimed to death here lately. NOT AVAILABE! You can't view your payments, your billing cycle, all you can do is pay them or make a claim. I spoke to my agent about my concerns and stated the company is not being transparent and he promised someone would get back to me from corporate to discuss, that was 3 months ago and I have called every month to follow up. No place on their website is there a "contact us" email like every other legitimate website on this planet. Just an address. Give me a break. So clearly they do this to over charge their customers and I am being overcharged. I can't get a payment history printout from my agent, their website or even get corporate to call me back regarding this oversight on their part. I've been handing this company money for nothing but a card for years. AVOID This NON-Transparent, at best. Insurance company as I go shop for a new insurance company.
Answer: Scam. They are terrible. Will take money from you and not explain why My grandpa has been with State Farm insurance since the 1960's. We have had great service up until the last 6 years. Everyone has always told me they were shit and told me all bad things about them but I always stood up for them. Well I'm here to say that was a slap in the face. We have filed a total of 8 claims this whole 60 years he's been with them. 3 for car wrecks, 1 being our fault, 1 being both parties fault, and the other one being the other parties fault but they did not have insurance so State Farm had to cover it. Another claim was when my car got stolen. There's was $1500 of damage done to it when it was stolen. THEY SPENT $15,000 FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS BRINGING IN STATE FARM LAWYERS AND INVESTIGATORS TO TRY TO PROVE MY DAUGHTERS DAD AND I WERE LYING ABOUT IT GETTING STOLEN. MIND YOU IT WOULD HAVE BEEN ONLY $1500 TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY TREATED US LIKE CRIMINALS AND RACIALLY PROFILED MY DAUGHTERS DAD, EVEN TRIED TO GET US PUT IN JAIL FOR FRAUD. BUT GUESS WHAT THEY COULDN'T BECAUSE WE DID NOT LIE, IT WAS NOT FRAUD, MY CAR REALLY GOT STOLLEN. They are ignorant and even belittled me so much it made me cry. WHICH INFURIATED my grandpa and he confronted our representative about it and he said "there's nothing I can do that's what they do to people" They have lied to us multiple times. They cancelled my road side assistance because I had 2 incidences "too close together" We pay by the 6 months. I pay for my cars I own and my grandpa pays for the other cars because we are on a family plan. Well last time it was due it was $800 each for my cars. It's usually $600 each. I thought it was a one time thing and I paid it. But then I got another bill for $800 for the 6 months for each car. So I asked my insurance representative why it went up $200. He said he didn't know and he couldn't figure out why. There was also nothing he could do about it. They also called us and told us we were late on an insurance payment (again we pay by the 6 months) but they called 5 months into this last payment (that was most definitely paid I have plenty of proof) and said we were late on that payment. Why would you just now be contacting us if we were 5 months late on a payment and we still have coverage. So she went back through her system and called us said that she was "wrong" that it popped up it is due next month and she thought that meant we missed a payment. Is she dumb or what? Then proceeded to tell us we were 2 car payments past due. Which isn't true. And how would she know if it had been true. We never have been late on a payment. We are actually 2 months ahead on every car payment we have. So I called the bank that gave us the loan for this car and they said they have not communicated with State Farm at all. That that would be illegal to do without our consent. That when someone calls about an account, they have to verify they are that person, and then everything that is discussed and done is written in the notes of that phone call and put with that account so they can go back and look for future reference and such. I know someone that recently stopped working for them and she said I quote "I will not work for a company that is dishonest, deceives, doesn't care about their clients, tries to screw them over, does NOT act in way insurance companies should or any company should, and treats people like criminals. We are here to help not to screw people over. But State Farm does just that. Their clients pay extremely high prices but cant use their insurance half the time because State Farm is trash and wants to fight every claim that's filed. I have morals and values and working for them makes me look bad. I can't believe the things they are doing to people and the way they are treating people. I WILL not work for a company that is more than greedy, takes advantage of people and manipulates people. I'm thinking about calling the Better Business Bureau and I encourage you all to as well!" I know for a fact (from another person I know that currently works there and is getting ready to quit because of that horrible things State Farm does) that they will do absolutely anything and add fake charges to people's bills just to get extra money. So with that being said STATE FARM THIS IS WHAT I HAVE TO SAY TO YOU FOR SCREWING ALL YOUR CUSTOMERS OVER (especially ones like my family that have been with you for 60 plus years) AND NOT DOING RIGHT BY US. SCREW YOU. I HOPE THE WHOLE COMPANY GOES OUT OF BUSINESS AND IT REALLY SHOWS WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE YALL ARE. **Remember when you said you would drop me if I filed a very very small claim WELL HERES ME DROPPING YOU HORRIBLE PEOPLE.
