Out of Towners beware!
Neglected to mention that if i didn't register my plate with the cashier (or by QR code which i do not do), my car would be ticketed in their lot (identified as staples parking). So having not gone there before and not being aware of something called "indigo parking" (I don't live in Ottawa), I parked in the parking lot and saw that it was for Staple customers. Went in to the store. Spoke with 3 separate members of staff and service was decent and after about 20-30 minutes of shopping, made my purchase (considerable amount of $$$) and went out to my car in the PARKING LOT EXCLUSIVELY FOR STAPLES CUSTOMERS) and found a 100.00 parking ticket on my car. Signage is past the entrance to the parking lot on a one way street and size of text about registering is illegible from entrance of lot.
Went back in and asked to speak with the manager... someone came to the counter and when i asked why no one told me i need to give my plate # to park in the lot, his reply was "that isn't our job" and "there is a QR code to scan right there" and "you would have to call Indigo. And then he gave me an incorrect number to call...
1 - never going to this location EVER again as the lack of empathy and concern for the customer and the customer experience is deplorable. All he did was get defensive that i should even question WHY they say nothing.
2 - never going to Ottawa ever again - the city is run by thieves. There was no indication in the parking spots them selves and if parking requires "authorization" to park, there should be a ticket to validate or some physical confirmation. What if i had been aware and given my plate info and somehow still received a ticket? Who would be responsible then?
3 - To the young gentleman starting his shift, you had no need to apologize but your empathy and concern for my meltdown in the parking lot was much appreciated. I have never had a ticket for anything in my over 30 years of having a license.
Merry Christmas
I recently retired from a large school district as a supervisor. We ordered everything from Staples! They had everything we needed. They were quick, friendly, and had everything I needed!
Need i say more, over priced again same issue with places like this. Inkfarm and go to walmart for your needed supplies. 10 bucks on planers really cheapest only gets a calender
Went into the San Diego Mission Valley store on Monday, August 17 - the day after Staples published an advertising flyer that included a sale price for the computer I wanted. After tracking down an employee to help me make the purchase, and after he went looking for the requested computer, he informed me that the store only had "2 returned open box damaged items in stock." I showed him the ad flyer that had been published the preceding day and asked how it was possible that none of the advertised products were in stock and whether there was another store in San Diego with some stocked. After speaking with a manager, he informed me that the store would have some in stock the following Monday - the day after the advertised sale price expired. I asked if the sale price would be honored, and after once again speaking with the manager, he said that it would be. I continued to complain that advertised sales products should be in stock otherwise they were doing a classic bait and switch. That got results. The employee went to the back of the store and when he returned he said he had "found" the requested computer on a truck that had just unloaded - sure, it was the same turnip truck that I fell off of. Then after ringing me up, he proceeded to give me the duplicate copy, not the original, sales receipt which included the language "Duplicate copy not valid for cash refund." When I asked for the original copy, he claimed ignorance, so I had to get the manager to strike out the offending language and sign the duplicate receipt. Bad practices all around.
Will NEVER order from staples.com again my first order of flling cabinet was the wrong color... canceled and ordered again... they never came to pick up the first one as promised wasted two days waiting for pick up that was supposed to come and never did
They also tacked on a protection plan charger i NEVER asked for or agreed to... had to call the president office of staples and they STILL haven t picked it up.
Was talking to a friend of mine who had a similar experience but worse... she ordered a file cabinet and they delivered A CHAIR! They have to close this business down
NEVER EVER EVER ORDER FROM STAPLES.COM... IT IS A TOTAL DISASTER.
Recently I ordered business cards from staples in Merced and their cutting machine was down to make sure I got my cards their employee Matt drove to Turlock to get them cut and brought them back to Merced he went above and beyond the Call of Duty. When I went to Staples to order the business cards there employee Kim took extreme care and time with me to design the perfect card the experience was wonderful I want to say thank you to Matt and Kim for helping me have a successful business
Like most reviewers that have horrible experiences, I truly wish I could give negative stars. My husband got a little extra money in his paycheck so we decided to get a printer that we've been waiting to get. We saw it in store (I wish I had just gone in to get it instead of online) and I ordered it online to be picked up in store. The only reason (and last time I do this) was because my husband was still at work and I wanted to make sure they had it ready for us when we got there. I figured I'll pay for it now, and just go in and pick it up and we're good. Staples.com charged my card, but cancelled my order-couldn't verify billing address. We just moved and our address is not the same as our billing as the bank is connected to our old address. Since we were going to pick it up, I wasn't aware this was an issue. I did not receive any type of email or call (they have all that info from the order) that my order was cancelled. The only reason I found out is when I didn't get a confirmation email from the store that the printer was ready, I called. The store had no record of my order so I called the 800 number. That's when I found out they cancelled it. I'm still waiting to get my money back from them.
We purchased a brother printer all in one and exactly 2 months after the year was up the printer almost caught my office on fire! Of course since it was just 2 months past the 1 year warranty they wouldn't honor their product they sold us! BUYER BEWARE! We have a national account with this company and I highly suggest you take your business to another office supply company! I don't know the order number since it was last year when we purchased the printer! BROTHER MFC-9340CDW NEVER AGAIN WILL I COUNT ON THIS COMPANY AGAIN!
I love shopping there just because it means I don't have to go anywhere. All I have to do is click couple of times with a mouse and few days later I have it delivered. Pretty convinient.
Staples has oddly beomce my go to for purchasing and ease of price matching. They don't give you a lot of hassle and they do have a bit of stuff available.
I placed an order with a representative on the phone. I had given the rep my correct address, but I saw in the confirmation email 3 hours later that they were mistakenly shipping the item to my daughter's home more than 1,000 miles away. I immediately called and asked the rep to correct their mistake on the delivery address. She said that she was unable to do that. She said that she had to cancel the first order and place a new order, so we did that. I paid for the 2nd order, had it delivered to my local Staples store, and picked it up the next day. Four days later, the first order that I was told had been cancelled was delivered to my daughter's home. I checked my credit card statement and saw that the first order had not been cancelled. I called again and asked to have the charge from the first order credited back to me. Staples will not credit that money back to me until my daughter delivers the item to UPS or to a Staples store and they verify that it has been returned. Staples made a mistake on the delivery address and on their failure to cancel the first order. They have wasted a lot of my time, and now they will also waste some of my daughter's time to get their mistakes corrected. This is a good way to drive long-time customers away from a business.
I paid just$4.00 for a pencil sharpener that is $1.99 I talked to manager and he told my that he couldn't give me a refund.
I wanted to order the brochures. Uploaded the design, glossary finish, choose "delivery" because there are free deliveries for reward members. At the check out I found out there are not any free deliveries there, I did not want to pay $9.99 for delivery, so I wanted to change this option into "store pick up" - there were no such options, I had to close out everything and start a totally new order. I have uploaded my images again, picked "store pick up" and this time it says that the glossary finish is not available for "pick up" options. Crazy. So, I don't have much choice, so I decided to go with a regular paper and a "store pick up". At the check out I found out that they don't accept gift cards online like a payment. I have already spent 2 hours on all this and still was not able to place any order.
I wanted to leave a feedback for them, but the red icon on a side of the screen was not clickable.
I have been ordering the cards and brochures at Vistaprint before and have never had any problems. At the Staples.com, spending 2 hours, I still was not able to order anything.
I bought new office furniture at the hyannis location at a great price and they even assembled for me. I got great treatment from Irena, even though it wasn't her department.
Office supplies and friendly customer service! Affordable prices as well! Hey have a great selection of office supplies. Their prices aren't too bad, and they have great sales.
Due to a review given by an individual on the #506 (3/8") staples claiming
The design had changed, I thought a bit of clarification of tip design
Was appropriate.
I had an issue with Staples regarding the warranty for my laptop as they cannot fix and offered me $750 (NO TAX) I paid almost $1000 for that laptop I got a call from Store Manager from 80 Great Lakes Drive Brampton, ON L6R 2K7 store to help me I went there but the Manager Don never came to talk with me after waiting for ten mins I went to her she was very rude as I asked her to pay me back for my laptop or fix my laptop as I bought extended warranty her colleague Sushil was also not ready to help. Please do not shop at Staples they want to "sell" warranty but when the actual time comes they simply don't care. Also with this attitude I don't recommend any one to go this store. With this attitude towards the customer I wonder why Staples stores are closing.

STAPLES PROVES TO BE A TRUSTWORTHY COMPANY, once again!
I was afraid to order anything online. I ordered 5 ink cartridges, and asked to pick it up at the store. It got there, all right, but they listed my name incorrectly, and initially STAPLES staff could not find it. They should have sent a free gift card for $20.00 under separate cover. I didn't receive it. I was fuming!
Take a hint, PERSIST! When they eventually located all of the information, they said that they had made a pretty serious mistake... They had not charged me for the order, and the Gift Card is not sent out until they received the payment. They told me that because it was their mistake, the $161.00. Order was free to me.
I insisted that even though they were unable to locate the Credit Card Charges, that, in fact, the money had been debited from my account. I proved this was true, and not only had they been initially willing to give me that expensive online order for free, but they then sent me the Gift Card, via Express Mail.
I AM IMPRESSED!
This is one of my favorite office supply store where I can find most of my items but lately the service has been lacking in my Baychester Bronx area by the mall.
Answer: Good service at their brick and mortar store, now good service online
