Outrageous Increase in Shipping Costs and Cancel Orders for Fun Zero Customer Service
These guys were pretty good despite always having poor customer service. Recently they have increased their shipping monumentally. I get that an increase is in order but not what they want. You end up spending more on shipping then on the items. Here's an idea, don't offer a service to places like Australia if you can't geta decent price with a shipping company. Also, I spent an hour yesterday putting together items that were all listed as in stock and as soon as the order went through and they took my money, they cancelled 6 of them. This means I stand to pay over 45 AUD shipping on 2 items. They are getting dangerously close to a criminal scam at this stage and I will never use them again.
I recently ordered some sale items from Sports Direct (a jumper and a polo shirt) - I ordered a size up in the jumper and my usual size in the shirt, both fit nicely. I had great customer service from both the Sports Direct Facebook page and the Sports Direct customer service email team. The products arrived in NZ quickly. Will definitely be ordering again.
WORST COMPANY EVER. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. Sent my order back morning it arrived paid for $#*!ing shipping AGAIN. Its been 4 weeks countless emails saying item needs to be inspected. I ONLY WISH I COULD GIVE THIS COMPANY NO STARS! - Bought the above from Sports Direct on the 18th of December 2021 with a promised delivery before the 25th of December 2021 as it was a Christmas present for my son.
The item did not arrived before Christmas, MY SON HAD NO PRESENT FROM ME FOR CHRISTMAS; ALL THANKS TO SPORTS DIRECT.
I have tried to contact Sports Direct customer service on the phone but no response, I have also visited my local branch, the branch tried to get hold of their customer service but no response as well.
Up to-date (22 January 2022), I have not received the item.
I placed an order on the 30th December 2021.
Still haven't received it.
They're saying I got to wait till the 29th January for a refund.

These f****** scumbags have been telling me they never received a parcel for returns ( in which I have a receipt and online tracking saying otherwise) I sent the items back 5-6 weeks before Xmas as the sizing was wrong hoping that they would be here in time for Xmas for my child, not only has the customer service been absolute crap and non willing to acknowledge that this is a fault( on behalf of there returns department as I done everything that was requested to receive my entitled refund) they have also told me they will not be issuing me a refund, this refund was in excess of 175-200e including post and packaging, not only am I disgusted with this scumbags tactics robbing customers (loyal customers, but not anymore) I've received nothing but hardship off this company the last year, two orders were wrong, and I was issued a 20% discount code, I promised myself I would never use sports direct again, but guess what, low and behold, i said I would give them one more chance, and I ordered over 700e worth of Xmas gifts, 200e worth which basically never came due to this inconvenience and on top of that I was also charged for it lol hahahaha absolutely disgraceful, seems like the scumbag owner that couldn't even keep Newcastle United financially alive board along with himself has decided to Rob loyal customers in the retail department!
I bought 2 tracksuits. 1 for my daughter 1 for myself. Got to checkout and the staff member was so unfriendly. Mumbled something about returns not be refundable but only credit to purchase something else(is that even legal?). Then she rang everything up and instead of the £80 I was expecting it added up to over £100. I asked to check the items as when I purchased the top and pants I saw a 2 for £40 sale tag. Turns out that only applies if you buy 2 trousers or 2 tops. They were a matching pair of Addis track top and pants. Such a dodgy company.
I went online when I got home and found the exact same set pants and top for £35. Scammersdirect charged me £57
FYI it was the Telford branch but not sure that makes any difference.
I will be avoiding this scammer store in future and suggest anyone else be careful when buying from them.

We bought a pair of shoes from them, after a while the soles got separated from the shoes, we contacted them and complaint about it when the shoes were quite expensive and a good brand, and they ignored us.

They sent my order to the wrong address. When I eventually got hold of customer service they weren't interested. Not our problem they said. They've kept my £150 and are refusing to help. The customer service agent "Elizabeth" was incredibly unprofessional and rude.
I bought a pair of football boots for my son. After using them just one time we found that a stud was missing - fallen out in the grass. Now the boots are very uncomfortable to wear. I then took them to the store for a return. They refused on the basis that I should have screwed them tight before wearing them, being utterly oblivious to the fact that the boots were not fit for purpose when we bought them.
If I was supposed to screw them tight before wearing them, why did the shop assistant not ask me to do this? Better still, why didn't they do it as they checked the boots' size before we bought them. It would have taken no more than 30 seconds. And best of all why doesn't the factory (Adidas) make them so they are actually screwed in properly.
I will never walk into to this dreadful shop ever again.
Bought pair of trainers on Monday only wanted them for work, got home and had a look they were quite thin and if I caught them on something might tear so took them back today, don't give refunds only credit notes WHY? I work in retail we would never get away with not giving refunds.
Purchased a new No fear backpack and received a soiled inferior item that had been salvaged from the clearance bin. Attempted to raise a dispute and dealt with difficult uncooperative staff whos objective was to make me go away and not rectify issue.
Terrible shameful company. Still waiting for my debit card refund for online order returned via shop 3 and half weeks ago. They dont answer their phones, do not reply to your emails. Have now had to get my bank involved to get my money back via debit card dispute claim. This company should not be trading in my opinion. They are doing this to hundreds if not thousands if customers... keeping their money after goods returned. Ive contacted the BBC, Watchdog programme, my MP, and trading standards... hopefully this company will ge investigated.
Bad Staff Manners and Attitude
The salesman refused to check on sandals size and colour. When I asked to talk to the branch manager, his attitude was the same and no surprise the salesman behaved in that way initially. I wonder if it reflects the company's whole culture of dealing with customers.
Everytime I purchase off sports direct my parcels take forever to come. As I needed this parcel quickly for an event I paid £7.99 for next day delivery. 4 days later and I still havent recieved my parcel. I try to contact sports direct but the number is a premium. I go onto the web chat for them to tell me that I have to wait 48 hours for them to investigate where my parcel is and then they will contact the delivery service and it will take another 5 days for a reply from them! They cut me off when I asked to speak to a manager. The service is absolutely discusting and you cant get help from anyone. I will definitely not be ordering from sports direct again.
They take your money you don't get your delivery. 16 days after I paid and no sign of getting my money back, they can't even get the parcel back from the courier who tell you one lie after another, AVOID.
Shocking packaging methods, Poor service, Damaged collectible goods. This business cannot be trusted
Part 1: Made an online purchase of some Lego collectibles that come in their own special and collectible style boxes. Guess how Sports Direct packages your items for the shipping journey? They put them in a non-padded plastic shipping bag. Without padding in the packaging -- my items arrived in a thin plastic bag (easily to be damaged in transit) and all 3 items were damaged. Damaged boxes also lower and impact collector's value. This is shocking they were not put in any sort of box, instead of a plastic bag -- even the plastic bag packaging had holes and rips.
Part 2: Customer services was redundant of submitting the customer service website form about the issue with pictures, and then they reply back with an email to restate my entire concern and provide pictures again via email. They insisted that basically this is normal and I can chose to send it back (at my own shipping cost). Their link they emailed me about "You can find further information regarding online returns by clicking the following link"
Does not even work! The vibes: they are not really coordinated or willing to help you, and the response feels like "oh well, not our fault."
Additional Context: They shipped my collectible Legos in a plastic bag without padding and let the Lego boxes take a major beating in transit; for the record and comparison I ordered Legos from Lego.com and they ship their Lego products in a separate cardboard box with padding inside, to protect the Lego boxes! Sports Direct, does not take care to do this at all, they need to change their "procedures" and take ownership of their faults rather than expect customers to pay postage to send something back caused by their own negligence!
I didnt get to try my sketchers on, they took them to the till I paid then realised the size was too big after paying... then tried them on only to realise they were too big, asked for a smaller size they didnt have my size so asked for a refund they refused to give me a refund... will never shop there again! Service is disgusting made me so upset, I left the shop bitter and angry, Because I couldnt buy trainers some where else, feel completely robbed and dissatisfied, that place spoilt my day! According to their policy i need to write to the company to get my money back... what ever happened to consumers rights! So now here I am with a store credit for a place I never want to visit again! I'll keep my split old holy trainers or walk around barefoot till im dead, you couldnt pay me to go back there!
Ordered Gstar jeans in March and was sent 1 pair instead of 2, the belt eyelets had been hacked off. I was given a refund.
2nd order was sent clothes in regular size that were listed under plus size, and after washing an item exactly as described on the tag (by itself) because it was navy and white the dark ink bled all over the white panel. They best they offered this time was a $6 refund. AVOID AVOID AVOID!
Answer: Stores in the USA selling hiking boots usually have thick socks for customers to put on before trying boots. If this store does not, it would be wise to wear the socks you plan to use with the boots when trying them on. Caveat emptor
Answer: On the issue of not refunding the purchase price, is that common policy for retailers in the UK? I'm surprised there isn't a government agency for consumer protection that looks into / bans this.
