I ordered two packs of trainer socks (along with other items) They were offering the choice of white ones, black ones or pastel ones. I chose the pastel socks and bought two packs. When my order arrived I found I'd been sent one pack of the white ones, and one pack of grey ones with different colours on the toes and heels (these ones aren't even on the website anywhere!) I contacted customer services who said that I had been sent the correct items(!) as there is a sentence at the bottom of the description that says "The colour you receive may vary from the image shown" - my problem with this is twofold, firstly, that phrase suggests that the shade of pink/blue/mauve may vary, not that if you order pink/blue/mauve socks you wil receive white/grey socks. For customers to understand what they mean by that phrase, it would need to actually say that you "may get a different colour" rather than the "colour may vary" but I'm guessing the reason it isn't phrased like that is because people wouldn't order them if they were aware that they might not get the colour they order! Secondly, if you have three colour options and you click on one to buy that colour (pastels) - who in their right mind thinks that the colour they are going to get might be one of the other colour options being offered that's completely different to the one they've chosen - it just doesn't make sense.
Obviously, they are too low a value item to spend money returning them, and with their response being that they sent the correct socks(?!?!) you wouldn't be guaranteed to get the colour you choose to buy even if you ordered them again.
On reading the reviews I can see that this has happened to a lot of customers - it's quite frankly an absolutely ridiculous policy, that really isn't going to inspire loyalty in their customers.
This experience has shown me that you can't trust this company - buying a specific colour, then being told that being sent colours completely different to the ones you ordered is correct - shows their level of care and customer service - I certainly won't be buying from them again.

The socks I ordered are clearly not the socks that they sent me - for them to insist that they have sent the correct socks is simply ludicrous!
I ordered 2 pairs of trainers one Adidas and one Nike, Adidas got delivered separately by Royal Mail. The other pair I didn't receive any information about delivery, I've only just realised they took the money out of my account for them and I didn't receive them and no notification. They now say as 30 days has passed there is nothing they can do and are keeping my money £59.99!
Absolutely terrible. I ordered a goal keepers jersey for my son. The brand i ordered didnt have a size guide but a recommended age (i. E. 7-8 yrs). My Son plays U6's and i ordered a 7-8 thinking he would grow in to it. As it is shipped from UK it took 6 weeks to arrive. The product arrived as ordered however despite being a 7-8 size was still too small for my 5 year old (who is of average size for his team). I tried to return it and adhered to their 28 day from receipt return policy. It cost almost as much to post it back as the shirt cost itself. Sportsdirect rejected the return saying it arrived too late. I questioned them on this stating their policy is 28 days from receipt and i met this condition, however as it being shipped to and from the UK the time to post makes a 28 day return policy impossible to meet. They never answered my query about it being 28 days from receipt and refuse to accept the return and refund me. NEVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY AS YOU WONT BE ABLE TO RETURN A PRODUCT IF THERE ARE ISSUES
Jobsworth staff, once they've got your money that's it. No customer services, they look down on the customers. The track suit bottoms are for midgets, don't they realise? Won't shop at Sports Direct ever again, and that's their loss,

Don't buy from sports direct they ripped me off by upto 30 pounds and their customer service is crap they just send you round the bend. As they didn't send an order said it was it problem or delayed cannot get head office number as its a recruitment number or local store. Today I returnedsports direct Washington store some muddy fox sunglasses that had just fallen apart first time out just to be told by the manager he didn't believe my explanation he wouldn't give me his name and just kept saying over and over get out get out very very angry
I Bought some trainers and looked really nice to wear. After wearing couple of days the trainers gave me problems on my heel. Wnt to the store and complained to staff and explained my situation. Manager wouldn't even didnt wanted to discuss this issue and wouldn't even take my query further and decided to the mick out of me. I will not shop at sports direct again. Aftet sales is really poor.
I wait after Christmas fuss and New Year and ordered 3. January ordered adidas sneakers 43.5 and get 45.5, ordered 10 T shirts for my team and get 7, ordered gloves and beanie also didn't get. Bag that I ordered had protection against theft protection so I had to go to store to move it. They lost my package in warehouse 2 times, for things they didn't have refunded me in 3 separate payments as they realized they don't have it. Things for winter come in spring or didn't come, thing for summer didn't come. I don't know with how many, Sandy, Mandy… I emailed and didn't get anything resolved in the and after 5 months I have received 4 of 13 pieces I needed. Don't do it to yourself…

We bought joggers and after the transition gone through i saw it was an offer for 2 of them. So i asked nicely if I can add one so it becomes an offer. She says no its against the policy after the transaction. We said that's fine give us the refund and we will buy those joggers again in a different transaction. She was happy to give refund but refused to do the sale again as per her its against the policy. When we asked her where is written that policy she has no answer and carry on arguing with no reason!

I didn't get my parcel. After contacting Customer Support I got answer that my parcel get lost and they are sorry and promised me pay all back. After 4 months I still got no money and my case is CLOSED! I get no answer any more. What's wrong with you people?!

Purchased a pair of shoes. They took a lot of time to send it, but that's ok. When I received it I realized that they sent the wrong size(an incomprehensible mistake). They do not reply to the e-mails to solve the problem. On social media, they always reply to comments saying that they will answer in private, but they never do.
Poor quality products at value prices, no refund only exchange. And what they sell it's hard to find elsewhere. Why like I said a lot of stuff is fake. And guys believe me. Some of their kids nike footwear is fake. Pay a few pounds extra elsewhere and get the proper quality.
I ordered a blue golf bag(£120) among other things to come next day as I had a golf game booked in the evening. They sent a black one. I emailed and contacted on Facebook via their page immediately. But stated I needed to use it or cancel my game. No response for a week. Then asked for pictures. Which I sent. Offered a refund/exchange after another 4days and was told they'd send a courier. In good faith I repeated that as I had used the bag and I know it can't be resold, I would keep the black one even though it's not what I want because in my eyes it's wasteful if not able to resell. But I would be happy with a gift voucher to cover the mistake and suggested the value to be the price of the courier each way as they would have to pay in an exchange... probably about £10-£15. I think that is really reasonable and would have cost sportsdirect the least amount of money for a mistake made by them. Then I receive an email saying as I have used the item there is nothing they can do. They cannot offer gift voucher. Cannot refund/exchange. Appalling service. No phone line for contact to immediately resolve matter. No answer to emails for many days. No customer service
I ordered somethimg and they picked the wrong size and I received a confirmation email with the wrong size, which is stupid as hell. After that I tried to correct them and they didn't even respond when I tried to send several emails. This is the worst customer experience I've ever had. Disgrace

Bought a Muddyfox bmx bike for my grandson, with a BlueLightCard discount code, paid £113.00 + £9.99 p&p.( £12 discount applied) It arrived with a large label, on the box, with a price of £84.99. Contacted customer service, by email, about the discrepancy and the lengthy email some 2 days later, basically says, TOUGH YOU WERE MUG ENOUGH TO PAT THE HIGHER PRICE... THEY ALSO SAID THE LABEL SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAKEN OFF. Well, for all you future or potential MUGS out there, either bite the bullet and get "ripped off" OR find a more reliable honest retailer with a good customer service policy.
I received my parcel that was open and half of the stuff was missing, I contacted customer services straight away but had to send 2 and 3 emails each time to get any response, the responses were poor providing very little information and I am weeks down the line still waiting a refund.
I have used sports direct in the past and had no issues so I have never had to contact customer services before and after this order I won't be using them again.
DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THEM. Gave them my money, not in stock and struggling to get money back and no reply to emails sent.
After paying $30 for shipping now DHL is asking me for $60 in shipping and delivery fees.

Answer: Stores in the USA selling hiking boots usually have thick socks for customers to put on before trying boots. If this store does not, it would be wise to wear the socks you plan to use with the boots when trying them on. Caveat emptor
Answer: On the issue of not refunding the purchase price, is that common policy for retailers in the UK? I'm surprised there isn't a government agency for consumer protection that looks into / bans this.
