We have had Spectrum for a little over a month now. A few days ago, our internet cut out. After two days, we decided to call. We live at an apartment complex, so the neighbors and I obviously live under the same address, but with different apartment numbers. Well, Spectrum did not seem to understand the concept of this. My neighbor canceled her service with them, which in turn canceled ours! And when we tried to turn it back on, we were given the run around for THREE DAYS. I was told they would not reactivate our account unless my neighbor called to activate it. That never made sense to me, because why does she all of a sudden have authority on our account? So, she called, and sure enough they told her that WE had to call them to fix it because it was OUR account. Next day, they tell me I owe over $100 which made no sense, seems I had only had them for over a month and had already made my two payments. After being on hold for an hour, they told me I had to go to my nearest Spectrum store with my lease to prove that I was who I was, and that I live where I do. Luckily, Daniel at the Spectrum store was our saving grace. I'm most likely going to be switching providers, because I'm not paying a company that is so ridiculous and unprofessional.

If I could give zero stars, I would! In our area we are stuck with them because they are the only ones to offer cable TV. I put up with it for way too long and finally canceled my account. I was told when I dropped off my equipment that I had no further charges and then I get a bill for a full month of service. When I contacted them, they did not uphold what the customer service rep at the physical location told me and said they apologized for the "miscommunication". The last time I checked a lie was not a miscommunication. The person I was speaking with could tell I was extremely unhappy and showed their lack of customer support by responding with asking me if I wanted to pay that bill right now. I will NEVER have spectrum in my home again, they are scam artists that only care about money and not customers. I keep reading about all the people who were charge for a full month without any service after cancelling; this is quite a scam they have going! SPECTRUM=SCAM! Building my own package with other providers is still 50% of the price I paid spectrum. If you don't already have it, don't get it! The bill continues to rise and they lie about pricing. I would have no tv, internet or phone before going back!

BEYOND TERRIBLE

Cable never working right. Feel like serviceman should just move in they have to come out so often. Once again, cable not working right. Telephone goes out in middle of day for no reason. Internet often slow. Worse company but only game in town here. They should be kicked out of NY once and for all!

I just received a letter in the mail that Spectrum will be increasing my bill from 49.99 (which has been the rate that I have paid for the past 3 years) to 69.99 starting next month as it was only a 12 month promotional plan (still unsure how I had it for 3 years if it was only a 12 month plan). On top of that they are issuing a yearly rate increase that takes effect in September of $5. So moving forward my new bill will be $74.99. I called to dispute the bill and was spoke to in the most condescending tone. I wasn't thrilled with the increase but their customer service is what has piloted my interest in other providers.

Even if you are on a promotion your rate still goes up, its gone up 2 times per year every year even though I was suppose to be locked in to a promotional deal.

Horrible service
September 17, 2019

I called Friday the 13th to have my service transferred to my new address, and was told someone would come out today to get it all hooked up. Well the time came around and no one showed than got a call and said the person was running a little late, than that time ran out and I was stuck on the phone with them for an hour, cause these people didn't even transfer my service, so know I have to wait til Saturday before "someone" comes out.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

After working in networking, Spectrum by far has the worst customer service I have encountered. Wont get too much into detail since there are MANY other reviews that voice the terrible customer service experience Spectrum repeatedly loves to offer. I highly recommend searching for other ISP.

I cancelled my service about 1/3 of the way into the billing cycle and they still charged me for a full month. They said they changed to a subscription service earlier this year and hid that info in their monthly bill. So even though I only had it for 11 days, they still charged for 30. Not to mention all the outages I experienced with their poor quality service. Ever since they bought out Time Warner the service went way down while the price kept escalating. Am so thankful that Google Fiber came in my neighborhood, cause SPECTRUM SUCKS!

Crappiest Company Ever
September 12, 2019

Tried to get new service to business. They rescheduled the installation 3 times. Called at 7:00 am on final date to verify appointment for 8:00 am. Nobody comes. Nobody called. Nobody knows what is going on when I called four times to see what happened. Screw Spectrum. If I wanted crappy service I would stay with Windstream because Spectrum is even worse.

I originally signed up in August for a 09-10-19 installation. On 09-10-19 I called to confirm the appointment and there was a problem - somehow my order was not completely entered. They gave me a new installation date and time of 09-12-19 between 11-12. I received an email confirmation and a phone call reminding me of my appointment. No one showed! I have called every 30 minutes for the last 2 hours to customer service. No one can give me an eta on when the technician will arrive. They can't talk to dispatch and dispatch doesn't call me with answers. Worst customer service experience ever.

Con artists

Loyal customer for two years, never missed a payment. After two years bill went up extra $50.00 cancelled service three weeks into that billing cycle as soon as I realized what the bill was.
Spectrum are still charging me for the full month even though I had a week without service. I do not believe they can do that, I will be checking.
Company sucks big time

Spectrum sucks

Once again had to have a tech to the house to switch out my DVR. My old DVR allowed me to record up to 6 shows at one time, the new one only two and you can't watch anything else. I was advised to go to the spectrum store, no phone to call, and see if they had one that could record more shows. Now I have less service for the same money. I have spent at least 2 to 3 hours on this issue and now I have to go out and disconnect and return my DVR. I got a 10 buck credit, whoo hoo. If I could give Spectrum less than one star I would

Spectrum "Processes"

Spectrum has a very poor attitude about customer service. They are inflexible and downright rude at times. It can take forever to get the correct answers concerning almost everything.

They have outdated systems and equipment and very poor customer service. Think twice before you deal with Spectrum!

They don't care! Changed service on 9/2/2019, 1st actual business day after the labor day holiday, to WIFI only oops! Ding! Ding! Ding! You lose! If you don't make changes prior to months end you get billed for the entire month if you have service or not. Mentioned they aren't the only provider in this area and guess what? They don't care if they lose a customer or not it's all about the Benjamins... Charter Communications earn their stellar reputation everyday

Bunch of liers and incompetent employees, they promise they will fix things but there are no actions! They promise they made notes in your account so nothing will go wrong, they will issue credit for your system that is not working all lies, no one does, they just talk.
Do not sign with this company, they will make your life miserable.

Must be nice

It must be nice to have so many customers that you can pick and choose who want to ignore. 2 days in a row I got stood up after being guaranteed that someone would show up. This is after 4 years we had been with you. And still no one has called to see what's going on. Great work your team is showing in customer service. Great communication skills you display for being a communications company. Let me guess, that's part of the joke right? If I had a chose between using old school AOL and you, AOL would win. I'll never, never ever ever never use you guys again. I will not give you any info because I believe all you will do is lie, like you have the past 2 times. Hope your customers keep dropping like flies.

I attempted to cancel my service on 8/12/2019 as I was in the process of moving to a new home. Spectrum does not let you cancel online so I had to call. There were long wait times so it was suggested I leave a phone number to call back at. I did and received a call. While trying to confirm my account we got disconnected and I did not receive a call back. I called Spectrum again and waited and when trying to confirm my account they could not and said I would have to get my account number. On 9/6/2019 I was able to call back to cancel my service and expected to be provided a prorated amount as I was not going to receive a full month of service. At this time I was told that as of 6/23/2019 they no longer offered prorated amounts of service stating that this was a monthly subscription plan. This information was not sent to me in a separate message nor was this on my May, June or July billing statements. In essence I have to pay for service for 8/31 through 9/29 even though I cannot use the service and they did not adequately disseminate this information. While subscription plans such as Netflix, Hulu or even Amazon Prime will not refund you if canceled in the middle of the month these services can still be used until the end of that billing cycle. This is not the case with Spectrum when this service is not provided at my new home. I have no issues paying for what has been provided but it is wrong to pay for something I cannot receive. My new home has a POA and they pay for cable and internet so Spectrum is not needed.

Terrible company... Always looking for ways to increase bills, waste customers time, and unfortunately they can get away with it by being the only provider in the area.
