We hired a BMW from Sixt in Italy over 2 years ago with full damage insurance included.
Now after 2 years plus their dept collection angent in Germany are chasing me for 609 eu for: extra paint work damage they found: They say they contacted me within 2 mths of my hire, they did not, When i asked for more evidence of the said damage all they supplied was a damage " tick " sheet.
After many emails to and from their head office in the UK i have been told that i should only contact their collection agent in Germany. I don, t think so!
In my view they have got to be the most untrustworthy hire company on this planet.
My next ( non) action is to wait and see what action the collection agent takes i e. Legal proceedings etc.
We booked our rental care through Expedia. Went picked up the car and they charged us with additonal fees per day, due to my husband was the driver and he is not the one that paid for the rental car. Nor did they say, your husband can use he card and there will be no additional charges. We live in the same household, we have the same checking account and credit cards. I emailed Sixt and frequested a copy of the contact between Expedia and Sixt, and I also asked them to call me. They do not want to provide any agreement/contract nor do they want to pick up the phone. They would rather hide behind a keyboard. I also provided them with a copy of their rental agreement, which is online. Sixt agreement is silent of additional charges for diving that are not paying. Sad that you have to spend additonal money when you are on vacation and trying to enjoy your time! They are a Debbie Downer! Never had this issue with Budget or Avis.
I was in Chicago in October 2022. I was "caught" by a camera for speeding. I had absolutely no idea... I was new to the area.
March 30,2023 I receive an email from Sixt demanding that I pay the $35 ticket- no problem. I paid it directly to city of Chicago. BUT they are also asking for a $40 administrative fee because I didn't pay the ticket on time. What? How can I pay for something when I don't know I owe it! They never notified me.
Now they are threatening me. I wonder if most people pay without questioning? I have notified the Better Business Bureau and have found out there are roughly 2,000 complaints!
Rented from Sixt in Denver at the airport. While parked, a contractor with a trailer bumped the bumper but was honest enough to give insurance info/employer info etc. I immediately contacted Sixt and submitted photos. 7 months later, I was sent a bill for over $700 for dints and scratches that were not on the car I had. For two years now I have been back/forth with Sixt. All they had to do was call the man's insurance Co and claim would have been paid OR they could have claimed it on my insurance, but they did not. They also had my credit card on file so they could have charged me in that manner, but they chose not to. Now, I'm having to dispute their claim on my credit report. I've never received anything in writing, only automated e-mail. I find this type of story all over the internet. They are also being sued in class action lawsuit. The entire operation is a mess. Now I'm going to the Attorney General and BBB, it that does not resolve the issue, I will hire an attorney.
They are trying to charge me for a rim that got scrapped. This is the drivers side rim. The rim, if scrapped was not by me. I rented this car and was out in the countryside. There are no curbs out there. This is insurance fraud and will be reported to the insurance board. Minus 5 is what I would like to give them.
I got an email the day before I was about to pick up my car saying that the rental had been cancelled. Conveniently for them, this email arrived after their phonelines had closed for the weekend. They had already taken my money to pay for the rental of the car and have as yet not returned it. I wish I had seen these reviews before I booked. When I called to complain, the person I spoke to refused to let me speak to a manager and ended the call while I was talking. I purposely refrained from swearing as I know from previously working in call centres that they can end the call. I would never use or recommend their service to anyone.
Rented a car a year and a half ago. No issues. Now a year and a half later, a collection agency out of Boise starts calling, saying we owe $450 in damages. NOTHING was said at the time of check in, nor have we received ANY correspondence from SIXT regarding any damage. And of course, a year and a half later, I no longer have the pics of the car. Good strategy on their part, I guess. We did not damage the car. It was immaculate on pickup and drop off. In looking at comments on their social media pages, this seems to be the modus operandi. First and last time using SIXT.
I recently rented a SUV in Minnesota and I extended it for an extra 3days. I received a ineligible invoice typed over. I contacted the company about this matter no one have responded as of yet. You can't call the company regarding this problem because there's no one there just a recording. I spent at least a 1000. 00 including my deposit. I will not use this rental car company again.
I rented a car from Sixt in February of 2022. I rented a Audi Q7. In October of 2022 I was sent a bill for a camera traffic violation. The time on the ticket was interesting because I knew I was not in Chicago at the time the ticket happened. After finding the ticket, going into the city of Chicago site, reviewing the pictures taken, I noticed it was actually a BMW X1 and was not the car I rented. I had to request the charge to be removed 3 times before they finally credited my account. No further consideration was given from Sixt for the incorrect billing beyond a refund of the charge. Apparently my time and energy is worth nothing to them. I would never rent from them again, and would caution everyone about renting from this company.
I picked up the car at the Newark Airport with a 1/4 tank of fuel and returned it with over a 1/2 a tank of fuel and returned it with over a half a tank of fuel. I documented the mileage and fuel gage when I first pick up the car with a photo. The billed me for fuel in the amount of $71.44. I attempted several times to contact customer support with no response back. I should have done my research and would have seen all the other bad reviews for this company. Never again.
I left my sunglasses in a rental car, called them but they stole it!
They have lost and found but they told me they are not responsible for any belongings left in a car.
It is a green light for their staffers to steal it!
Giving a 1 star is giving them too much! This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I prepaid for a car and then was charged again after being told that they would refund the first transaction and that it was a typical protocol. Despite my hesitation, I went along with it. I should have trusted my gut knowing that they were not going to refund the first transaction. I am continually being told that an investigation is under way and it takes 7-14 business days...UMMMMM It has been 5 months. I have sent receipts and all documentation with no action taken from them. Renter beware. If you want to get a good deal, DO NOT rent from Sixt.
Ordered on line through Priceline.com. Husband got roped into a bunch of unnecessary add-ons. When I called to cancel them, they don't have any phone service or live chat during covid, so you have to write them an email. Took them 3 weeks just to ask me what I needed.
Besides poor customer service, they didn't give me the car I paid for. I paid for a luxury sedan. I got a Ford Escape.
I experienced a flat tire during the rental and had purchased the AIG "$0.00 deductible full coverage insurance". The SixT's administrative costs are not covered by the AIG policy and was billed exorbitant fees, for no documented reason, by SixT.
Renter Beware!
Just received a phony damage report (with no information on it) nearly a month after returning the rental to the Las Vegas McCarren location. The claim says they are still compiling the damage information and I should report a claim to my insurance, HA! I have reported them to my insurance company as attempting insurance fraud. We'll see how they like that.
I rented a car from this company took pictures when I left it. For the next year I got threatening emails and pictures showing huge gouges in the side of the car that they claimed I left. Horrible horrible company and I have the pictures to prove that the car was fine when I left it.
Never again, nor should you, rent from these people. They rented me a car that had undercarriage damage and had me pay for those damages. I repeat, never again will I nor should you rent from these people.
My husband was hospitalized and unable to travel. I provided Sixt with a medical letter and they still charged me a $168 cancel fee. It was a $260 rental. I tried to rebook instead but the cost was double the cost of starting a new rental! I won't be using this company again!
They are simply scammers prepay rental they will take imprint of your card and add on all charges for anything you don't agree too I'm referring my contract to ombudsman and taking legal action like many other they appear to SCAM!
Vile company bewarned!
Rented a car in Dusseldorf for 24 hours, starting at 10pm at night, with a downtown Copenhagen dropoff the next day by 10pm. Got there in time, and the office was closed. No problem, as we parked the car in front of the office and dropped the keys in the drop box - all by 10pm. The surprise was the next day when they charged an entire second day and claimed the car was returned at 8:30am. Have been trying for over two weeks to contact someone there to look at it, both by messages and phone, with no luck. Have wound up needing to dispute this at the credit card company. Not planning on renting with them any more. Overcharging with no way to correct is terrible business practices, and they should be avoided.
Answer: They don't hire enough customer service staff. After an unhappy rental with them I started reading reviews and found nothing good, Never again.
Answer: Don't have one! Success story doesn't exist. The only success was on their end screwing me out of $300... duh
Answer: No cars available in Vegas. It's crazy. My dad wanted to go but no cars. Learn a lesson, only go to reputable rental agencies
Answer: Impossible. I waited on hold for 3 hours only to be told that they would not do anything to address my request. There are plenty of car rental companies. Pick another one,
