Courier tore my new sofa, scratched the arms... and then damaged my property significantly by denting one wall, taking plaster off the wall and ceiling, scratching one door and breaking another door. Complete cowboys! Shipley will not cover you as they claim to be a matchmaking service only. Courier is only covered whilst in transit - so while items are inside the van. Courier was completely unprofessional, Shiply offer no resolution so I'm stuck paying for damage to my item and property. Avoid at all costs or this will cost you dearly!

Their online platform for generating quotes is very buggy so I forwarded the specifics of my shipment directly to their email. Here is the response:

"Please try to book the delivery request either on a different web browser or a different device.
Should the issue persists, kindly send us a screenshot of the error you're encountering so we can assist you further".

How asinine a reply. Even though they have all of the information to input they rather go back and forth with emails and screenshots instead of simply taking care of this themselves. Tells you everything you need to know about the company...sad.

AWFUL

Great service from quote to collection to delivery... This is here where everything stops and we enter a downhill slope.

Chairs arrived damaged, driver won't even listen to the receiver, courier won't communicate with me, shiply.com refuse to take any responsibility. Shiply could't care less.
Courier has provided false contact details
Was advised by shiply to contact the police, though it's not a criminal matter. Furthermore the courier is in Eastern Europe. Courier claims to have £120.000 insurance er shipment. If you ask Shiply, they can't verify anything. I suspect shiply do not check any details whatsoever.

I can only advise NOT to use shiply.com

Edited as a response to shiply.com... I can assure you that you haven't vetted the drivers completely. (Or don't do it on a continued basis) Otherwise you would realise that the contact details of the driver are inaccurate. FACT

Bad start as the first delivery company turned out to be dodgy. However Shipley were communicative and tried to help me sort this once I contacted them. Luckily my delivery was relisted and I soon got a quote from an excellent company for not much more than the dodgy one. I would warn people to do as much research as possible though as the site may be exploited by unscrupulous delivery companies, and there is perhaps not as rigorous vetting as there might be. They said that the dodgy company was under investigation but they appear to still be trading.

RENAME TO "SHIFTY"

The company you contract with is most likely NOT the company doing the actual transport. Be prepared to speak with multiple "middle-men" (in my case 3), as you work through the process. Each contributing to the cost to the process. For example, my original bid was $852, which I accepted. The first $172 of that price I paid immediately to Shiply. The next $80 was paid (by me) to the "logistics" company and ultimately the actual transport company received the remaining $600. So, had I done a little more research up front, I could have saved $252 on the haul by going directly to the transporter. This was my first experience shipping a vehicle from out-of -state so lesson learned. Ultimately my vehicle was delivered relatively quickly so overall I am satisfied with the outcome.

Shiply is not safe

Stay alert that Shiply is the playground of scammers. Scammers are easily get verified by Shiply and after the fact that scam happens, Shiply provides no refund for your loss. I personally lost almost 1800$ on Shiply over a booking to ship my car. The scammer easily got away and Shiply did nothing about it.

So late in may I hired shiply to transport a piece of equipment from California to new York and after waiting for it to be picked up the driver decided not to load it. This was after I gave the request $440.00 deposit. With that I hired someone else which was $525.00 higher but they picked it up and delivered it without a deposit. Several times shiply kept telling me I will get a refund however I was having some issues giving them the required paperwork. After 3 months after I told them to just keep my money and leave me alone well once again they got in touch with me and with some help we got the required info they needed and once again we waited to find out once again we were jerked off.
I inquired what was the status of our refund and got a dear John letter informing me that I canceled the load, with no reference to the $440.00 deposit or the driver failing to load the equipment.
Once again I told them to stuff my money in their $#*!.
Never use these people!

Stay away from shiply
September 6, 2023

We paid shiply to send a 2016 ford escape from winnipeg to Montreal. The vehicle was subcontracted by shiply to a company called Fyre logistics. The vehicle was never shipped. It ended up in a shipping yard in Toronto with damage to the bumper and hood of the vehicle. The truly unbelievable part is that they had put over 3000 km on the vehicle! Shiply referred us to Fyre, who would only respond by email to tell us they went out of business and where the vehicle could be picked up. Shiply has refused all responsibility for the damage, wear on the vehicle, and refused to refund the cost of shipping that never occurred. Currently seeking a lawyer to recoup costs.

Did the job as hoped for!

Mac (our provider) was perfect as his feedback suggested he would be! We had our concerns using Shiply for the first time as we've heard some horror stories. All I can say is, look for those who score well.

Some of the prices are totally ridiculous but wait for a few as they get lower
Make sure you have all estimates before you choose
I would not use any other firm now as far less hassle getting all prices at once instead of having to contact individual couriers. Have asked Anyvan in the past and no where near as competitive as Shipley. Please not this site is to connect customer with firm. Shipley do not contract the courier and they state on their site that you should check courier has all the correct credentials, but that is fine because you know before you hire, so check courier reviews and insurance before making payment for Shipley services, they are simply an intermediary to get prices in one place

Needed an item of inexpensive but heavy furniture delivering from Sheffield to Birmingham. Received multiple quotes and messages from delivery people within hours of posting my requirements on-line. My first choice (cheapest quote) were not so good at communicating which I think is key, but my second choice, which was a 'one man' delivery service, with a good rating - proved to be much better. Item arrived on the day that was arranged and was very pleased with both price and service. Would definitely use again.

I've used shiply 5 times to transport cars and so far all have been great service. Dont just do the free quotes pay the extra £4.99 and the quotes keep coming... so much so that I cant pick the cars up cheaper myself.
Check the quoter feedback to avoid head aches and triple check/ask questions and get a definite answer before accepting and cheapest is not always the best so chose wisely

Thanks guys, brilliant service and easy to use trade board, I was called by more than logistics outfit, with open and transparent bids, with operators given the chance to review their prices, in the case of mine explained that the price came down as I had to share cost with other customers.

Shiply is a really solid site. I found it easy to use and very quick for getting a few quotes on a job, would absolutely recommend it. One issue I would say is that the messaging system doesn't always update properly and I missed a couple of messages while trying to arrange plans.

The delivery person I went with was incredible and I never would've come across him without this site.

Great service
September 11, 2019

Needed a running machine transferred from a London basement to a garden studio in Kent. Posted a picture, approx weight and dimensions, pick up and drop off location and submit. Within minutes had an assortment of quotes emailing in from different people. Within a few hours the price range had less than halved. Flexible dates and contact directly with the driver. Great service.

Dudes, I got the job done in the end, BUT i had a few mishaps but they were sorted out to my satisfaction. The item arrived in good condition and didn't "disappear" on the way which in my view is all about trust. Communication is key here as nothing is perfect so always check the couriers feedback and speed of replying to your emails and text messages in a timely manner

Excellent site

A superb way of finding businesses/individuals to transport goods around Europe or within the UK. Site is not always that clear to use and you can get a bit overwhelmed with emails from suppliers submitting quotes - often multiple ones, however, it is effective. Shiply respond well to emailed customer services but their customer service number appears to be non-operational. I required a refund as my first supplier let me down- this was processed quickly and effectively by Shiply who take the initial (approx) 20% deposit directly.
I have used Shiply several times... It is important to pick well-rated suppliers as some can be rather unreliable.
