After fielding numerous bids, I agreed on a price to ship a crate from California to Maryland. I made sure to get the quote first before commuting to the crate purchase. From there I set up the pickup and everything was ready to go (allegedly). I was then contacted by the shipper asking for more money before he picked up the crate, based on the fact he was VERY new, and had minimal feedback I told them I wouldn't pay anymore till the crate was picked up. Once picked up, I would send another installment. The shipper said he would be there shortly and update us when he arrived. The shipper never showed, no call, no text, and no email. Both phone numbers provided were bogus. So needless to say I was less than pleased. I tried to contact Shiply, and was only able to send them a message. After a day and a half they messaged me back telling me it was unfortunate that I was unhappy and they would would be willing to refund my deposit (for a shipment that was never picked up). At this point I'm now being charged storage for my crate. I then created another listing and once again booked with a trucking company that had over 100 reviews. This bid was cheap, but it was their bid.so I accepted it and as soon as I did, all communication ceased and the only thing I could get from them everytime I tried to communicate was "we will contact you". 2 days later (this morning at 10am) I was finally contacted by the shipper, and after about 15 minutes of finalizing the details and confirming everything, I was then told in very broken English, "oh, and by the way, we had a typo, the quote wasn't $501.00, but instead it was $1896.00, and that they would need all the money up front. This was now an increase of 400%. After 5 minutes of arguing, the story changed from it was a typo, to the guy in the quote section was new, and he bid it too low, so they now needed to increase it 400% and they needed to be paid in full before pickup. I explained to them in no uncertain terms that I wouldn't be paying them a penny over the agreed upon initial price. Then all I got was the operator explains to me it was "very far" and they want more money. Mind you I had numerous other bids MUCH cheaper that $1896.00. So needless to say I wouldn't be EXTORTED and they needed to honor their quote, that's business. So they never picked up the crate yet again! Approx 6 hours later I get a message "Dear, I'm sorry your unhappy, I will call you again and explain to you how far it is". I know EXACTLY how far it is, it's the exact distance it was when they quoted the job 3 days earlier. Yet again all the phone numbers listed on the site were fake, no email response and the review narratives were negative but yet somehow they were all thumbs up? Clearly BS, and Shiply emailed me and told me somebody would be in touch within 6 hours. I've still not been contacted. I went to uship and booked my load with a professional transporter on a professional website. This entire Shiply site is nothing but spammers and scammers, sprinkled with a few crooked brokers. Do t walk away, run away and don't ever look back. I contacted the credit card company and told them don't pay $#*! to these Grifters. What a joke this site is.
Use Shiply and their associated transports at your own risk. In response to this feedback, Shiply will offer their standard apology and the 'it's not our fault or responsibility' canned disclaimer. Take the time to read the one-star reviews on the Shiply and Trustpilot sites.
Be aware, Shiply does not seem to put their transporters through the "rigorous background" they cite. They allowed Gold Shipping, self-reported as Little Rock, AR, to join the site and bid to transport a Jeep Patriot for me.
1. The problem, Gold Shipping doesn't even exist. The accepted address by Shiply, isn't even specific and uses the description "near" followed be a residential address. They also cited that they have completed more than 100 jobs and have more than 100 employees: also not true. Gold Shipping is actually Cars Hauler LLC, with a business license in Florida and they don't seem to own any transporter vehicles.
2. The bigger problem, Cars Hauler LLC is neither a transporter nor operating from Florida. Similar to Shiply, they are a broker, operating from Ukraine. The office in Miami, Florida appears to be a virtual office, and the address for the registered agent is a beachside executive condominium and resort in Miami.
3. Four days into the process Cars Hauler LLC contacted me and "congratulated" me because my "BMW 323" had been picked up and was in transit. Remember, I have a Jeep being transported, not a BMW.
4. An even bigger problem came a day later. Before noon, Cars Hauler LLC contacted me again to tell me the Jeep would be picked up in 1-2 hours. At 4:30 PM that day Cars Hauler LLC called me to say my Jeep had been picked and would arrive in 2 days. They also asked me to pay the remaining balance outside of the Shiply system, plus Cars Hauler LLC had now added additional "brokerage" and "extras" fees.
5. Biggest problem, the Jeep had not been picked up and was not in Transit. In fact, Cars Hauler LLC had contracted with Fox Carriers to transport the vehicle, and they never arrived to pick-up the vehicle. I attempted to call Cars Hauler LLC back after confirming the Jeep had not been picked up, but no one answered. So, by 6:30 PM, I sent an email stating that they had until noon the following day to pick-up the Jeep or consider the transport request voided.
6. Not only did Cars Hauler LLC fail to pick up the Jeep by the deadline, but they also didn't even contact me until after. When they did contact me, I canceled the transport request. Within an hour, in ignorance of the cancelation, they called again and insisted the vehicle was being picked up within the hour. This too wasn't possible, because they had not contacted the person at the shipping location to gain access.
7. In addition to the already cited deceptive business practices Shiply exposed me to, Cars Hauler LLC was trying to get payment from the contact at the shipping location and me; neither of us knew the other was being asked for payment. They even suggested that the contact at the shipping location could pay the driver cash. Fortunately, the contact at the shipping location wasn't responsible for the bill and did not pay.
8. The ridiculous problem occurred midway through the week-long incident when I notified Shiply of the problems. I explained that I was having problems with Cars Hauler LLC, who was advertising falsely on the Shiply website as Gold Shipping. The Shiply support team responded with an offer to put me in touch with Gold Shipping, and even cut-and-pasted the fictitious business contact information into the email. Really?
9. After notifying them of the issue, Shiply eventually suspended the Gold Shipping account. They are also refunding the $116 deposit; their portion of the transaction. However, they were quick to deflect and claim no fault because they are simply an interaction board to connect transporters and customers in need.
Even though Shiply advertises that they complete rigorous background checks to ensure customer safety and trust, I question if they really do. Based on the high-pressure tactics by Cars Hauler LLC, and a list of deceptive statements and lies, I believe there was an attempt to defraud. Had we complied with their requests, we would have double-paid, without any services rendered. Moreover, would I have ever seen it again if they had managed to take possession of the $15k Jeep? I am currently seeking legal representation to address deceptive and fraudulent business practices, as well as an attorney with US DOT federal law experience.
Use Shiply at your own risk. Their failure to properly vet transports almost became my expensive mistake, and they were quick to distance themselves from the problem and responsibility.
I accepted a bid for the transport of a Jeep Patriot. The transporter failed to deliver services.
This service provider originally informed me that he would be picking up the item on 10/10/2022. Apparently, he has picked up some of the items and left others. He still has not delivered any of my items and has not picked up the others. This service provider has stolen not only my money but also my items. I demand that he returns all items and refunds me in full. I also demand that you Shiply refund me in full immediately as now I will have to drive out personally and pick up the load myself.
This was the first message I sent to Shiply about my issue. The end result is that I was forced to file felony charges against the driver and Shiply in 2 separate countries. I have filed these charges as internet crimes because Shiply is an internet-based company. I am continuing to press charges as we speak against Shiply since they have not refunded me, and they have knowingly broken the law up to this point. I have filed charges against Shiply and the driver with 3 separate police departments, the FBI, DOT, FMSA, the National Cyber Security Center, and the National Crime Agency (the UK's version of the FBI) in the UK. To call Shiply anything more than a common criminal is naive.
The delivery driver was accused of stealing a handgun from a previous client and Shiply did not perform an adequate background check on this individual.
To prevent anybody from having my same issue in the future the drivers account is under the company name

HELLO, I AM ABOUT TO TELL YOU MY HORROR STORY WITH SHIPLY. So I booked with this company to pick up my 2017 Audi S6... traveling from Brampton Ontario to Kelowna BC the schedule pick-up was a Monday. They contacted me and said they will be delayed a day or 2 and now pick-up was a Wed. Then they contacted me again and said its delayed again the pick-up will be a Friday. So that went from a Monday pick-up to now Friday (2 changes). Ok things happen, that's fine. I advised them that it was supposed to be picked up the Monday and that I had pre booked appointment's that i booked months in advance to get modifications done to the car. It gave you 2 weeks to transport it when you said all it took was a week tops. They said no issues, (if anything one guy will fly home, pick up a single car loader and meet the truck so they can make the delivery on time). I thought great that's awesome! The car will be delivered the following Tue. Perfect cause my first appointment was that Thurs. OK so they picked up the car on a Friday... come Sunday i think, I email them to check the progress and where the car was. I was told there was was a hwy closure from sask. To Alberta and that the truck is on hwy stuck there. I mentioned my appointments again and they said no issues it will be there before that Thurs for sure. Sunday night i go onto the Road closure map and see all roads are open. I contact them again and say the HWY website says its open. They reply yes and they drove it all night but weather is to dangerous so they are pulling over till it clears. Still on schedule! What i didn't mention at the start was I've been in contact with the driver as well. I text him and see where they are at at how bad are the roads in Sask/Alberta. He tells me THEY ARE STILL IN ONTARIO! They haven't gone anywhere yet. I said what? I was told you were on Sask hwy near AB. Border, he said no. They have been having trucking issues. I said well why am i getting told a different story. Im finding out now 4-5 days later the car is still in Ontario ( when someone from office tells me something else). They then tell me it will be delivered by Friday-Sat. I call all my appointments and convince them to push everything back and start Monday. That worked, now they have till Sunday really to get here. A few days go by, its now the following Friday ( 1 week from pick-up, 12 days from Original pick-up). I email them and text the driver as well... email comes back, still haven't moved, still having issues with truck (mean while no one contacts me to tell me any of this even tho they know i have appointments). I text the driver and they basically say the same BS. So i call them on all the lies and they basically tell me to bad, and now we are going to return your car to the dealership and i have to find another carrier. Which now will take 3-4 weeks to now get to Kelowna. THIS IS THE SHORT VERSIONS TO, I have all the emails and text messages from these guys. Lots of other lies they have said as well that i didn't write in. To much to list! TAKE AWAY... DONT USE THESE GUYS FOR ANYTHING THEY ARE SCAMMERS AND LIARS. I ended up going with a trusted company HANSENS. YOU ARE WARNED... DONT USE THEM!
