I began using Shipito about 3 years ago. I was also using MYUS but due to some minor issues I thought I would try another site.
I have now shipped about 18 packages via SHIPITO most of which have comprised 6-8 smaller packages consolidated. So far I have had no complaints about their service. The packages were well packed using appropriate materials and my instructions on consolidation were carried out, except when one package was clearly too big to fit and had to be shipped separately.
I would say that their charges are in line with other shipping services. The big plus for me is that they allow you do make your own customs declaration which can be used to trim excessive import taxes.
I have now begun using SHIPITO exclusively because I have been satisfied with their service and I like their rewards program for frequent shippers. I also had some issues with MYUS that led me to no longer using their service.
Well, it's as simple as this...
I had used shipito 6 times prior to my last time using them. The sixth time, I had an issue with the shipping calculator whereby I entered all the information "Required" so as to ascertain what the shipping fee would be prior to the package being received.
Seems clear cut, no? Well, the field that I did not enter any information was the "Dimensions" field as this was not marked as 'MANDATORY', unlike the 'CITY' & 'Weight' field.
So, what does this infer to the logical everyday customer? To me, it infers the dimensions field would therefore, not have a bearing on the final shipping fee. Or if it did, it would be something very minuscule.
This however, was obviously not the case. The seventh and final time I chose to use shipito, I did the same thing again. However, this time the weight I entered actually ended up being greater than the weight of the package once delivered to my shipito box.
Thus, I clearly presumed the fee I'd been given when having used the shipito calculator initially would be less as the package was half a pound lighter.
Again, this was not the case. The fee, amazingly, ended up actually being HIGHER. I emailed support with my grievance, and their excuse was, the dimensions of the package plays a significant part (supposedly) in determining the shipping fee. Mind you, as stated previously, it's not deemed MANDATORY to be entered.
This demonstrates to me, it's nothing but a ploy IMO, this Coy is trying to lure customers to their business by publishing shipping prices that will undoubtedly, be altered, ALWAYS seemingly higher, if and when the dimensions of the package are entered.
Stay away IMHO, as the support staff were pathetic in trying to rectify the grievance.
Very fast forwarding of my package. Very pleased with their service.
From what i gather all forwarding companies are getting alot of negative reviews on the internet which leads me to believe that they hire people to discredit their competitors, which is a bit of a joke really and bloody annoying. I had no problems at all with Shipito, the only improvement i could think of if they offered smaller boxes for consolidation.

They lead you to believe you won't have to send a notarized document as long as your shipping address and name you sign up with them match your paypal account information. It is a lie. Mine match and the account won't even be manually reviewed until I read 65% "verification status." I have no desire to send them all my personal information and given that I live in a country with a non-latin alphabet, I am betting there is no way to get to 65% without a notarized doc in English. Given that costs $80 where I live, total fail. It is a shame I wasted $10 for the registration, but at least it wasn't more. Stay away!
Throw away my package after tnt failed to show me the custom clearance doc.
Ordered one package through Oregon to ship to Calgary Canada. While they forwarded my packages through quickly I did not spend the extra money to have them open the package and take pictures of the contents thinking that as this was one box there was less chance of things going missing. Wrong! I'm sure they see that you didn't purchase this insurance and use it as an invitation to steal things from your package. I did get the insurance from DHL but apparently that only insures delivery and not contents.
The box that was originally shipped to Shipito weighed 8lbs. When it was forwarded to me it only weighed 6.8lbs. Got my package and found that one sweater was missing from the package. Even though I asked them not to open the box and take pictures there was a sticker on the box saying that it had been opened and "inspected" by Eazybiz Corp. I wont be surprised to see my sweater on their Auction site in the next few weeks.
AWFUL. AVOID THIS SERVICE!
My package got never delivered (not even a delivery attempt) until I got a mail saying the package is now in London and on it's way back. I was given the option of either returning the package to SHIPITO for another 65$ or abandoning it. I asked for a proper delivery instead, received no answer but the same standardized email. I wrote again, but instead of a proper answer I was informed that my package was abandoned due to my failure to respond within 24h. This is the worst service you could imagine.
NOW: Have you ever wondered where all the items of their auctions (http://auctions.shipito.com/list/page/) are from? Probably from "abandoned" packages like mine...
Never answered to mail email. Even so I registered and want to buy skies in amount of 450 USD with shipping. After I got through all the confirmation, the fees at the end were sooooooo HUGE! The total price without the taxes in my Country were over 720 USD. Cmon, what the hell? Provably if you buy something smaller the fees will not be so big. But this is just ridiculous.
Hey guys, I'm seeing currently these reviews about shipito before being a customer. And the reviews are outrageous! So I started to doubt about this company. Anyway, besides complainings. Anyone knows about an alternative realiable company for shipping from USA to Canada, Montreal? Thank you
I have been using shipito for two years now and never had a problem. I live in Australia and they've sent many packages to me. Excellent service
I don't know why so many people have submitted bad reviews. I used this service for the first time 2 weeks ago and they delivered the package to me in Australia no hassles and very quickly.
Seems that their services suffer a lack of support attention last year. My recent package was sent back by the carrier because it took a month for Shipito employee to give me tracking #. Local representative(Russia) was completely not interested to solve my problem, so I forced to push same question over global support. They had not even made apologies for this fault (quite minor but became critical due to such delay). Very disappointed and broke all connections with the service.
At the beginning everything worked fine: I received 5-6 boxes, shipping time was ok, there was some trouble with shipping times, but nothing serious.
Then one of my boxes went missing. I asked about Shipito, they said that they knew nothing. The tracking code didn't work and I didn't get any info from customer service.
Few days later I received message that parcel had been resend back (I can understand that this sometimes happens) and I needed to choose to pay return shipping (item was still in europe) or abandon parcel. I told that I wanted to pay the shipping.
After that the customer service offers me third option: item could be still send back to me. Naturally I asked more info about this and the reply:
"Please answer if you want this package return or abandon. I am not
Going to sit here and argue with you back and forth. If you do not
Give me an answer I will requests the shipping company to abandon this
Package."
Why in world do they offer different options if they are not avaible? And also, my request to pay the shipping cost was totally ignored.
This is only one example about their bad customer service. Once I noticed that one of the boxes I received had a hole in it. I asked the customer service if they would fix the box before sending. I didn't get reply but I was told that I should ask this from packing: it would cost 8,5 dollars (it was special request). So I asked and the reply: If the box is broken, they will always fix them before shipping.
Why couldn't customer service told me that?!
So, Shipito works just fine if you never have to ask anything about customer service. If you have to, you are in trouble. Also recommend: Try checking their own forum about customer service messages. Most of those haven't even gotten reply.
I worked with them for 2 years and I made mistake with paying as I asked my friend to pay to my Shipito account. They blocked my account and account of my friend who had account with them for 6 month. They ask for FORM 1583 (notarized by public notary, mail signed original which costs a lot to acquire locally as I would have to pay attorney + US embassy tax + shipping tax to USA. They don't want to unblock accounts until this is sent and I already had my passport scan + national ID card scan + utility bill scan with them and still not enough proofs that that is me? WTF? And payment was made with their current PayPal accounts not some unknown account of third party. I wont pay again for my yearly subscription definitely and will simply use other mail forwarding company that is for sure!
They float dangerously close to the standards for mail fraud and wire fraud ----- in making revenue on the basis of attrition for those who do not engage their verification process which involves a US notarization to parties overseas--- essentially a US consulate visit.
They violate their 30 day refund policy. They hide the verification standard in the terms and conditions and conveniently leave it out of the bulk of the site.
It's only a matter of time before they are shut down by the CA Attorney General or other agency. Its a schema to profit when you walk away. If they desired to be legitimate and clean, they would honor refund requests. They chose to take the money and ultimately they'll face civil and criminal consequences of this.
They prey on the fact that foreign customers won't know which US agencies to use to effectuate regulatory invention and that few if any will commence an actions from overseas for such small dollar amounts.
This is a clear public interest situation where the the CA AG or US Attorney could help their political aspirations through some nice publicity.
Also having a local news affiliate knock on the door will help raise awareness.
I might understand some of the criticism. But they're not so bad.
Very quick to slam you and tell you whatever the problem is is your fault, but anyone whose got an ex-girlfriend should know how to deal with this.
Do get everything mailed to you under your name and have no variance on payment address or anything details as much as possible as they are very sensitive.
Get everything shipped to you in tracking, and put your tracking numbers as expected packages. Double check your packages as they can be sloppy at times, but hold loose items upto 90 days for them to make your way to your box.
Ive shipped about 8 parcels, big ones consolidated and all, and the service has been pretty good. They take photos of everything. Are quick and fast with the necessities you would want from a shipping service.
Be wary of the 2.5 per item and +2 on consigning each item. Im not sure how they stack up against competitors but cant really see it being that much of a difference.
Overall can be a sensitive service, but if youre clean and process all your tracking numbers, the options speed and service makes up for it.
I'm a new, very happy customer of Shipito.
I used comgateway for more than 1 year, shipped numerous packages thru them. But I find their charges a bit high, and they scrapped their rewards program (used to give a small rebate to reward CGW prime members and they took that away suddenly). I still use them (they're fine overall) but decided to try another shipping company. So I decided to try Shipito.
I chose FedEx Economy, tracking number **************. It says signed for by "Jusnia Maid" because my domestic helper answered the door and collected the package, I was out. Btw my suite number is J3098.
My shipment took 1 week to arrive ( from Nevada to Singapore), in perfect condition. It's slower than Comgateway, but that's cos I chose Economy delivery. Thanks to some bad reviews i saw, i only dared to ship 1 package first, so I didn't consolidate packages. As a result, it was too costly (per package) to choose any option other than Economy delivery. In the future, I will consolidate packages and choose a faster shipping method.
I've paid the $10 monthly fee and will see how it goes. I think it's worth it because they really only charge a $2.50 processing fee along with the amount that FedEx/DHL/USPS charges them for shipping. If you consolidate packages there's a $2 fee--but their 'consolidation' includes repacking into smaller boxes if u want to reduce shipping volume. Comgateway also charges for repacking, so no difference really. I think all the charges are very reasonable.
Overall, my experience with Shipito has been great. I honestly wonder if some of the reviews written online are fake. Those who honestly have bad experiences with shipping companies should share their views. But I feel there are some people who badmouth a company online because they work for a rival company, and those people should be disgusted with themselves. You know who u are.
They are not straight with the customer. Although the quote was like 13 $ to ship I ended up paying 27 $. Which to be honest I wouldn't have done it if known beforehand. Another extremely worrying thing is account verification. They have lowered my spending limit to 160$, luckily after the first test package was send, with the request to send highly sensible information to them to verify who I am. They claim because there is a discrepancy in my account, what ever that may be. This they will not tell you. Unfortunately there is a lot of fraud on the internet with credit cards but also with identities so this cuts both ways shipito.
I did a test run with them but they failed. I will not use this service again since there is not really clarity about the costs but most bothersome is the account verification system they have. This really smells fishy.
This Shipito is an absolute SCAM! Do not use it they are rubbish. I had something (a very small thing, a cosmetic that they didn't have in the UK and I wanted to use for my wedding) ordered and delivered to them in February. I have waited and waited and after spending $40 for delivery (!) they sent the package. I waited and waited and after a month contacted them and they said the package was on its was and only after something like 90 working days I could make the claim. Of course the package didn't arrive and I made the claim. At that point they said the package resulted as delivered (?) I said absolutely not and they said "Ah ok, actually they found the package with the delivery company and they are returning it here"... No comment. The packaged has now been returned to them and they want me to pay again for the shipment. It is now July and I waited for this since Febraury, I told them they can stick it up their b...
Big time scammers. Never had a problem with my first test ship. Second shipment was bigger and more expensive. They put my account on hold after I use paypal to fund the account as my paypal account name differ slightly. Never had this issue with the first shipment. Anyway they lifted the hold after I explain why it is different. Happen again when I need to put in more money. Was assured by their staff that it is not an issue. They lifted my pending again. But when the time came to shipping the items, they flat out refused to send out the package. Gave them passport and drivers license copies and sign their forms to try to sort out this issue and call all them countless times but to no avail. Told them their staff had previously send me emails saying the name will not be an issue. Bloody hell, they lift the pending not once but twice. That's the reason I kept funding the account. If I had a whiff of trouble ahead, I would have redirected my shipment pronto. Phone call alone to sort out this issue with shipito cost me 30 bucks. At the end I had to get the seller to pick up the item. But that is not the worst. Worst thing is, they charge me 8.50 for each package that they hand back to the seller. Ridiculous. The fault did not even begin with me when it is their staff that had been giving out incorrent information from the start. They should have left the account on pending if it was such a big issue. I would have stop funding immediately and redirected my stuff somewhere else. But oh no, they waited till everything is at their warehouse and you are at their mercy. They apologies a lot but still would not bulge an inch. I do not expect much but at least an offer not to charge the 8.50. It's bad enough not to receive the product you paid for but to be charged the return fees is downright disgusting. So at the end of the day, 80+ bucks in my shipito account got sucked up by the return fees and the initial processing fee and repacking fee. So thinking of using shipito for your shipment, well u better think twice. I rather deal with a shipper with more integrity than this. So shipito - not only have you lost a customer but this customer is so unhappy about your utter contempt of him that he wrote a review about it and will try his best to spread it out everywhere.
