Woeful customer service. Shipito informed me a couple of soft childrens toys I was forwarding were 'allegedly' held up in Australian quarantine due to insufficient information. The processing fees for this were more than the parcel so I wanted to speak to Quarantine directly. Despite TNT being able to contact shipito over the matter (why not me? My address is on the parcel!), shipito were unable to provide me with a reference number for TNT or Quarantine because 'there isn't one'... i ask then how have TNT traced it back to shipito?!? Destruction was ordered BY shipito after a week even though TNT will hold for 60 days. I do wonder if Shipito lost the parcel then concocted this destroyed by quarantine story to avoid having to pay up for a lost package. So dodgy. Previously they were o. K., but their i. D requirements are ridiculous and are not required by the new (superior) service I use now.

I've just wasted $100.

I've been using shipito for a long time, but this time would be the last one.

Nowadays Shipito became a scam, there're a lot of hidden charges: they charge $2.5 to "process" each package and $2 to consolidate packages into bigger one for each package. That means $2+$2.5 = $4.5 for each package. And that doesn't include shipping costs, special requests, bank fees etc. You pay for everything.

Now I've consolidated 22 small packages (guitar strings) and I've got 22 * $4.5 = $99 bill for their so-called "service"!

But those fees aren't explained anywhere. You will it out only when you get your bill.

Sarcasm mode: Oh, that's my dream job: throw small boxes into big one for 5 minutes, get $100. Not bad, shipito, not bad at all!

Thank you very much shipito, never will use you again, and will recommend against you.

I just wasted 8.5 bucks
They advertise like they are free to signup, then you have to place a deposit. Once you're in you see that you have to pay much more to be able to use their service (notarize the documents, scan and send IDs etc)
You want a refund? Well, they'll keep $5 anyway!
Avoid them!

You've been worn
May 28, 2013

You've been worn.

Consider this info as a good advice. You will have hard times (some of you maybe less) to get your account verified. You'll get maybe to 30% or 40% but to get parcel forwarded you need 65%. In this case you need notarized USPS forwarding form. Which cost 60$-100$. Do not send any IDs unless you want to get that notarized USPS forwarding form. This is my main advice here. They collect lots of IDs from all over the world and won't let you use the service unless you get to 65%. They will not return you signup fee either. Consider yourself warned.

First time I used this it went perfect. The second time I had a package forwared, nothing ever arrived. After 9 weeks it came back at the USA shipito address.
They claimed it was my own fault because I was not home and their courrier only tries to deliver once and does not leave a notice or whatsoever. I checked the photographs supplied by Shipito and the package has never even been in my country!
I had delivery insurance on this package, which I paid extra for but nothing was refunded. I decided to pay a lot extra for TNT shipping but I am still waiting for it to be shipped.
This is taking weeks already now, the postage I have paid for this item is already double the value because Shipito is a really bad website that does not know what their are doing.
Don't bother to buy their insurances because they will rip you off anyway.

Avoid this company Shipito will rip you off.
I did pay for a forward mail service like i do since 2009, but this time Shipito has refuse to send me the letters that i received. So after that i paid for the service shipito didn't ship any of my letters and this did caused me to lose documents $200. I did request a refund and they did refuse to refund my full amount of $32.99.
The reason why they didn't ship my letter was because they said to me that a signed USPS form 1583 was not enough. When any other similar service company sometime they don't even request a USPS form 1583. I was a client since 2009 and they never request any notarize USPS 1583 before now they won't ship my letter if i don't have a notarize USPS 1583 i explain shipito that in Canada a notarize signature cost money but they didn't care, so i checked on other company like Bongo and they don't need any notarize USPS 1583 because its not needed. So now i been emailing back and fort with shipito support but they said that they can't do anything for my refund.
So i decide to file a claim for the $32.99 paid to shipito, and i request a full refund for $32.99.

My experience was awful, they had no problems taking my deposit and parcel and then placed a security restriction on my account, simply because I had my work address as the delivery address. In order to remove this restriction, I was asked to provide copies of my passport, utility bill and notary declaration or else pay them again by wire transfer. I elected to pay them by wire transfer to get my parcel back which costed me hefty fees, then I had to file a credit card chargeback to get my 1st deposit back, as this company charges 4.3% of deposit on refund, even though it was their fault for taking my money and not providing service. I only used them once and felt like they were holding my money and parcel at ransom to force me meet their ridiculous requirements( not to mentioned the extra costs). Save yourselves the pain and use another provider.

Avoid this company!
August 2, 2013

Avoid this company!
I found a poorly built web site, poor customer service, slow to respond to emails and issues, and a final point to note -- a post on their own web site forum that talks about how they wish customers that ask too many questions would go away. This post was from their own employee, on their own web site!

What they fail to realize is that if Shipito provided the service as stated people wouldn't be sending them emails and demanding answers.

One final item to note if you are even considering this company is that when I called after a week of trying to solve a problem with their web site and services, and I asked to speak to a supervisor, they told me she (Lindsay) does NOT take customer calls because "she's too busy doing other more important things". Really? Amazing!

Here's the quote from their employee named John from their ShipIto archived forum:
If the text below describes your actual behavior please pay close attention. We honestly wish that you switch from Shipito to some other competition. We would tell you that in your face, but we just don't know how, so we don't hurt your feelings. I am willing to offer you refunds even for non-refundable services. I will help you to make the switch! There are certain things we are really tired of. It is not usual for company to saying something like that to customers. I just hope it helps. There are people who really abuse the system and make our job difficult. We want to focus on good customers and give them our best. We don't want to spend majority of our time with extremely difficult customers."

It goes on from there and you can read the entire diatribe he wrote at:

Hi
February 14, 2013

Hi
My experience has been so so so bad!
They are so #$@%... will rip you off like anything!

When you have not joined the site, they'll say calculate your shipping cost. Lets say you calculate for 5 kg... then you'll be so happy to see something like 50$ will be charged!
So you sign up for virtual mailbox, buy your 5 kg, and then choose shipping cost...

You'll be shocked out of your mind that the same 5 kg now cost 200$ for shipping!
And then the consolidation charges... the handling charges... blah blah...
Just charges to rip you off some more!

This has happened with me!
I have 150$ worth goods in shipito website and they are asking 200$ to ship it!
The weight is around 4-5 kg.

Once i get this package, i am never going back! So so so many hidden charges... it'll charm you to beleive that its very cheap, when actually its too expensive!

The other service i tried was shop and ship. Much better prices that shipito!
Although no consolidation is offered by them.
Now i am going to try comgateway.
But out of shipito and shop and ship, shipito is worse!
It is much more costly, too many hidden expenses and customer support is very very lazy.
But it is the unreasonable price that bugs me the most!

I did a consolidation and pictures were taken of all items. Despite this a watch was missing when my package arrived. When I tried to claim it, since I had insurance, I was told I responded to late even though I advised them within time frame allowed. A second package I consolidated and that was sent 30 days ago has not arrived! BE AWARE: STAY AWAY: Shipito will rip you off! I had nothing but trouble with these guys from the start!

Avoid Shipito.com they are scammers. They have my package and I paid over 220 USD for the sending, but they do not want to send the package. They now say they have a 150 USD spending limit for credit cards. However they did not mention that when I made my payment of an amount larger than 150 USD. They do not want to refund my money either and are keeping my package hostage.

There cannot be any worse package forwarding company. Do not use this company!

I have had the same issue as a previous poster - their verification process is just awful, and the customer service matches. I used a third party credit - my husband's - on the account setup, and it all went through fine without any word that it would later be unacceptable. I ordered a pair of running shoes, they arrived at the warehouse, and when I tried to pay for the postage I was informed that y account was on hold because I had used a third party credit card and needed two pieces of ID for the cardholder. I said I couldn't easily provide those since my husband was traveling, and couldn't I just switch the credit card on the account to my own (which I would have done in the first place if I'd known that would be an issue), and they told me I could not. Currently, there seems to be no solution, so my shoes are being held ransom in their warehouse, and their rude staff tell me there is nothing that can be done for me when I call. I don't usually complain about things online, but this is absolutely ridiculous. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

Be aware of hidden fees. I did the mistake to trust Shipito.com and I ended up paying $ 19.30 for a 1.00 lbs (0.45 kg) 10"×7"×2" (25×18×4 cm) package shipped in the US. All this after an endless exchange of emails because their website did not worked properly. The customer assistance is very poor too.
A friendly advice: DO NOT USE shipito.com

One of my clients used shipito.com for several years, and paid for extra insurance on the packages. 2 packages never arrived (shipped May 2009) and shipito had the nerve to incorrectly quote Ukrainian law (the destination) to justify their denial of his insurance claim. The law states that you must have an import certificate for a cell phone if there are MORE THAN TWO in the package. The law also CLEARLY states that no import certificate is required for 2 or less phones in a package. There was one in each package. He's still fighting with them on these two claims.

In the mean time he had problems with two other shipments through shipito. One arrived with rocks in it, instead of a cell phone and the other arrived with a cheap plastic case for a cheap cell phone, instead of the expensive cell phone he bought. Needless to say, he's not using them anymore, and he's still fighting with them to settle the insurance claims. Seems to me their "insurance" may also be a scam. The phones were in the US and shipito shipped FROM the US. what do they care what Ukrainian law says. Seems like an excuse not to pay. My client is out $1,250 USD (Cost of good, shipping, insurance). EMS Ukraine, the local "agent" for shipito has advised my client they have had many of the same complaints from customers (almost 100) in the last couple of years.

You couldn't pay me to use shipito

Use the service about one year, I've sent over 20 packages arrived without any problems, small problems like photos that were not good were quickly solved, that is the biggest problem I had was with pictures but it was resolved the same day. I would say that the service is good and honest could be a little cheaper but nothing in this world is perfect, give a note to Shipito 8.5.

I signed up at this site about 1.5 years ago, and shipped about 30 packages so far. Some of them were consolidated. Every single shipment arrived safe in my homecountry. The customer service was happy to help me, and answered all my inquiries to my complete satisfaction.

The fees are the lowest of all competitors, and they really charge the only the shipping costs calculated in the shippingcalculator beforehand (not like some other companies who are stating 70 USD shipping costs before, and then charge 180!).

Going to use the service for many more years :)

They spend a lot of time and money writing fake reviews for themselves. I admit... I was lured in by one of these reviews. They are several years away from having a great service though. Alot of headaches and disorganization. I ended up going with a different forwarding service.
