Everything I've bought from them is faulty. Speakers that don't work, lights that aren't wired, and cracks within plastic on multiple products. Their customer service is good, so make sure you get a refund, or avoid the headache and never order from them.
I purchased in January & used 9 days 2 x a day. Had it on my back got extremely hot & smelled something burning. Found a hole burning & smoking. The instruction booklet had a website All Star Innovations which had no contact information. I called Sharper Image was told a manager will get back to me in 3-5 biz days, nothing. I called back & was told they don't make this product & gave me the number to All Star Innovations. I called 2 days in a row & left a message, no answer. Finally I took it back to Bed, Bath & Beyond money returned no problem. I was very lucky that I did not get burned.
So my husband ordered the wrong thing on accident so he promptly called to get it corrected. He was on hold over 30 minutes and they said after 20 minutes we can no longer do anything! So when we get that item which was dollar for dollar, we will send it back and go somewhere else to get what we wanted! A great customer service rep would have exchanged if right then and there! Pretty sad!
Since many of their products are drop-shipped, they have no idea what's in stock and when it will ship. An order placed well in advance of Christmas (2 1/2 weeks) still hasn't shipped. And the best part? They won't cancel the order because it could ship "anytime". They used to have brick and mortar stores but now they find it much easier to hide online. Look to a reputable company for your purchases.
Paid to have item returned. Ten days after they received the item the refund is still "in process". I was literally told on a call to them that they have had so many returns they are having difficulty refunding everyone! Not good. They have now said it will be another ten days. Have never had such an issue with other companies. Note: they had no problem charging my credit card when I made the purchase.
I am trying to return a item to Sharper Image. It was a gift my husband didn't like. So I printed up the return label and boxed it up to take to Fed Ex. The guy at Fed Ex told me I didn't have the correct bar code for him to scan. I went home to reprint it. That's when I noticed that what shows up to print is not what actually prints. OK, I email Sharper Image to tell them about the problem. No response. I then called their customer service number. That had a 63 minute wait! I've since emailed them 2 more times. Still no response. It will be a cold day in hell before I shop there again.
This item has still not been received when it should have been here before Christmas. The company states that the order has already shipped so it cannot be returned and they will not offer a full refund. Will never order from them again.
Really poor customer service. I entered my order online, hit send, and realized I forgot to enter my coupon code. Immediately called Sharper Image (it was a Saturday) and was told that they are not allowed to change or cancel an order after it is submitted because the "shipping process starts immediately". I emailed customer service after hearing this disappointing news. That was four days ago and I haven't heard anything. I will not be shopping Sharper Image anymore. - Amy P
I live in NYC and just ordered a hip therapy wrap with heat and massage from SI last Friday.
Needless to say, I need this gizmo sooner than later to relieve the hip pain that has made me hobble around and have trouble standing up after sitting.
Initially, I got messages saying the package would arrive last Tuesday. That was then -- and this is now -- six days after shipment -- when the package is supposedly in Wyoming (?) and FedEx can't even estimate an ETA any more.
Dreadful!
UPDATE: the package finally showed up yesterday, nine days after it was shipped. The good news is the product worked as expected. It also came with a catalog and $25 Gift Card to entice me to buy more stuff.
I took a look at Sharper's prices and -- yikes! -- they're way out of line, comparable to those at Hammacher-Schlemmer but without the lifetime guarantee that outstanding company offers.
So I would buy again from SI only if they offer a product I can't find anywhere else...
I remember when Sharper Image meant quality so I was shocked and so angry to learn that the two personal spa items I bought were nothing but junk and that the identical items sell elsewhere for half to a third of Sharper Image's price. The crooks get away with this by telling you can't return opened personal merchandise. Opened does not mean used. What a loophole!
Trying to get person to talk to on a Xmas gift return. Sharper Images system places you into a "silent" hold where you cannot tell if you are connected nor can you tell if an operator pickups to answer you. Never seen a phone system so bad.
Worst customer service system seen in 15 years.

It is impossible to cancel and order from these f***ing crooks. I cancelled the order in less than 5 minutes. They said it was too late. Well, they still delivered it. I refused delivery and followed the tracking back to them. 11 phone calls (filled with lies from them), they promised to refund my CC. I am still waiting 2 months after their promise and I still have not received ANYTHING from these crooks.
You do business with them and you DESERVE the screwing your going to get. I would wish you good luck. But, even if that luck came from GOD himself, nothing, and mean NOTHING will save you.
I placed an order and within 10 minutes I call them to dispute the coupon they say saves you money, save 20% today! Tacks back on the shipping charges (after gives you free shipping) you won't notice this until your payment is complete! So you will call them and get someone and a manager telling you the same speech we can not cancel your order. "There's an influx of orders" sorry. Very poor customer serve customer service which is outsourced to India. So you will be very annoyed AND they are going to waste more of your money by making you pay for the item in shipping charges that you are returning.
My wife bought a sit-down roll around seat with underneath toolbox for Christmas. In spite of me telling her I didn't want anything she bought it and over $1000 of other items from Sharper Image. The receipt I looked at was just over $960 and had a return date of up to Jan 31 2022. I already have one similar to this that I have never used and although I really appreciate it I didn't need it especially at a price of $159.99.
I got on the sharper image website and initiated a return. For an item that cost $159.99 plus shipping and tax, I was going to get back a bit over $70. After figuring tax and shipping, this means I was losing a bit over $92 on the return. I sent them an extensive email about this and never received a reply.
This is why I ask you to make sure you REALLY want the item with absolutely no intentions of making a return. The only thing I accomplished was really pissing my wife off. It is still sitting here fully boxed waiting for me to take it to Goodwill.
Beware of Sharper Image. When I tried to use a promised discount I was unable to, even after multiple attempts. After purchasing one of their products and not being satisfied with it I attempted to return it. Not only did I have to pay for shipping to return it, but they charged for shipping the product to me. I ended up receiving 50% of what I paid. Their service personnel followed a carefully scripted response to my concerns. Totally disappointed with what was once a great company. I will never purchase from them again. Potential buyers beware!
I wish I had read other reviews before purchasing from Sharper Image! I purchased an item and paid $7.95 shipping, which was OK. However, when returning it, I was charged $13.95! With online shopping nowadays, that is ridiculous! I will not be shopping at Sharper Image again! Buyer beware!
I ordered two products one of which was shipped within two days. They sent me a tracking number for the other but it says something along the lines of "label issues, info to FedEx". Now two weeks later, the same tracking information (none, really) and when I reached a live person they told me that the product was out of stock but because they issued a label, I will still get it. They had no idea of when it would be available or anything else. BTW, I never received a notice that the product was out of stock. Very disappointed.
Sharper Image has in giant bold letters across the website that the shipping was free with a purchase over $99. Lie. My purchase came to over $200 and I paid for shipping. When I contacted them, it took them 13 days to send me a blank response. They literally had nothing to say in the email. It was blank. Never doing business with this company again.
The 90s call and they want their store back. Just kidding. I still have a lot of love for Sharper Image. Weird foot massager? Ionic air filter? One of those electricity orbs? You've come to the right place. Sharper Image's website's best bit is if you can find refurbished version of their products that offer some sweet sales.
I bought 2 UV Sanitizer lamps. Used them 4 times. Today I charged them to use and neither one would illuminate. Contacted them via chat, they couldn't help. Neither could their other help department! The product was discontinued. In stead of a refund they just said sorry! Not more Sharpe Image products for me!
