I've been ordering from AliExpress for years. They've made some recent notable improvements lately. The site now does a much better job of tracking products that you're looking for. You'll see them (and other similar items) in your general product feed. It isn't an annoying game like Temu and if you search for something, you actually get results that make sense, not like Wish which gives you a whole bunch of other crap amongst what you're searching for. Shipping is mostly free or cheap, but it depends on the item or "store" you buy from. I find most products to be of good quality. If not, you now have 15 days no questions asked free returns, this is a big improvement. AliExpress support is always there to help if you think you're not receiving good support from the merchant. Ship times are pretty much about 2 weeks, In some rare cases, less than a week. I've bought a laptop, a robot vacuum, and a $100 Android tablet as well as a pair of $250 high end headphones which I've been very happy with all of them. I've also picked up things like washcloths, soap dishes and the like for a few bucks and likewise have been happy. They have some really neat items. Use specific item descriptions when searching, but don't shoo by brand name, you won't find many US name-brands here, but I learned to familiarize myself with some quality Chinese brand names which is helpful if you're thinking about making a bigger purchase. You will find the occasional look-alikes, and I've bought a few and have been happy with the quality for the price I paid. The reviews are now genuine customer reviews and often give you an idea of the service you can expect from the merchant. Use TopCashBack or Extrabux apps to get a few cents here and there on your purchases. Also if you "favorite" a product or "follow" a store you may receive messages that include coupons (they're in the message part of the app, they dont spam your email, and you can opt out). Although they generally only get you a buck or so off your purchase, every now and then you can score a real deal on an item. Their whole coins thing is pretty much a waste of time, but you can, rarely, catch a super deal using them. I got a Logitech webcam that sells for over $100 for $25 using coins, but like I said...this is rare. Overall, it's a more civilized version of Temu or Wish with more things that actually have purpose, not just junk that gets pushed on you, and none of that "you'll lose out if you don't buy it in the next 60 seconds crap". The search function is your best friend on this site, you can find the tiniest part to help you fix something up to something as sophisticated as an Ultrasound Machine. If I'm in no rush, and I could care less if it has a brand name, I come here first. Hint: Out things in your cart and you'll see similar stuff presented as you browse.

Tip for consumers:
If your shopping for clothes, be careful of the size, they may give you Western or Asian sizing. If you see something that comes is XXXXXL, it's probably Asian (add 3 sizes up from what you normally would buy). Message the merchant if you're unsure. For shoes, know your EU size (hint, a 13 is a 46 then go down from there, 12 is a 45, etc.).

Products used:
A cheap but nice Laptop and Android Tablet. A vacuum that cost 1/2 of my Dyson and was just as good. T-shirts, Shoes (oh so many shoes. They're cheap and good quality), stuff to organize, glue, unglue, clean, cook, save time and effort, parts to fix things. Stuff for hobbies. $5 Christmas lights that looked better than anyone else's on the block.

I found copezou.com through an ad I clicked on while in the OfferUp app. I was looking for a SodaStream and the ad popped up with a very high end KitchenAid unit which normally sells for $400 for only $99. The site looked pretty realistic and I figured is was an ad on a reputable app (OfferUp) so I put in all my info and ordered the KitchenAid Sodastream. First thing I noticed is that I never got a confirmation email. Second thing I noticed is that the search function on their site brings up nothing. In fact, other than the default page, which is showing some folding chairs, I could find no other merchandise on the site. The unit I bought only comes up after clicking on the ad. It's been a couple weeks so I tried calling to find out the order status. Well, the customer service telephone number is just a textmail account. With things looking a little bleak, I decided to file claims with PayPal and my credit card bank. I pretty sure the KitchenAid isn't going to show up. Copezou replied to my claim in a day by providing a UPS tracking number. I called UPS, and that tracking number isn't a package bound for my address. So the claim process continues...

Tip for consumers:
It's not real, don't buy from here.

I never got anything.

You know what they say, "if it's too good to be true, it probably is". Definitely the case here. I ordered a laptop and received a pair of fake Ray Ban sunglasses. It's a scam site., Don't order from here. Thank God I used PayPal.

Tip for consumers:
Avoid it. It's kind of funny, someone put a LOT of effort into making the site. The amount of detail on the individual items is insane and rivals legitimate sites. All this to attempt to get $50 off you. I imagine they also wanted some of your personal information, which of course they got.

I ordered a watch stand from these folks. After a month and a half, the order is still "processing". The credit card authorization eventually just expired, so I did not lose any money. There was no response when I used the "contact us" link twice to ask about the order. I don't think there is anyone actually running this store anymore.

Tip for consumers:
Shop somewhere else.

  • RadioShack

3/8/18

I was saddened when RadioShack filed for bankruptcy and closed most of its stores. Fortunately, they have survived their bankruptcy. They are now owned by the same company that includes stores like Pier1, dressbarn, Stein Mart, and Modell's sporting goods. I've seen dozens of new items added to their product line at radioshack, com and the company plans to open retail stores in key markets. Unfortunately, one thing that did change is the return and exchange policy. Their previous policy was well defined and generous, but now they just make reference to their "30 day refund policy", anything beyond that is left to the discretion of their customer service department. Warranties are handled by the manufacturer of the particular item. If the item is a RadioShack branded item, it is again left to the discretion of RadioShack customer service with no clear warranty stated beyond the 30 day refund policy. So far, this has not been a problem, it's just a little vague.
Other than that, it's good to see this 100 year-old brand still in business, with new cool products. I'll update this posting of any noteworthy items should they occur.

Tip for consumers:
Be cognizant of the 30 day return policy.

Update 09/18/2023
I've pretty much stopped using Wish. The shipping fees were getting out of control. It's also really hard to find specific items because they litter their results will all kinds of other crap. Quality of the goods is variable at best. They've lost their lock on the market category. I now use AliExpress pretty much exclusively. They've opened up their site to real reviews of the actual product you're buying and many include a rating of the store policies and ship times as well. Ship times have improved, and some items are now eligible for a free return.

Tip for consumers:
1) Shipping takes longer because it comes from China (usually). 2) Those aren't duplicates, they're the same product offered from other "stores"...compare shipping times and costs between them. 3) If you have to return, you pay the shipping. Period. But if it's real cheap, they may not require you to return it and they'll give you the refund.

Products used:
Assorted electronics and home items

  • Sharper Image

1/25/18

I was happy to see that Sharper Image was reborn and eagerly ordered a Foot Spa Detox system. I couldn't get it to work, so I called them. The product in this case was sold by Sharper Image, but it was not "their" brand. In fact, it was a product that is normally sold to health care professionals for use on their clients. They offered no help, and referred me to the manufacturer. The manufacturer doesn't provide support to those who bought the item for personal use. Without any help, I tried to return the product. Sharper Image classifies this product as a "Personal Care" product, and states that those products are not returnable for any reason. So, I have a broken foot spa, no useable warranty, and no return ability. They should have been left for dead in my opinion, not resurrected.

Tip for consumers:
It's not the same Sharper Image of years past. The store was relaunched in 2010 now owned by an Investment Group. BBB gives them an F rating. Caveat Emptor.

  • Healthy Paws Pet Insurance

12/29/17

As far as pet insurance goes, it's not the cheapest, nor is it the most expensive you can buy. I gotta say, they are THE BEST. All of our claims are handled promptly and paid directly to us. When we couldn't afford to out-of-pocket for an entire procedure, they arranged to pay the vet directly. They never had a problem with us seeing multiple vets to have our dog treated. When she finally passed, they took care of the final expenses and even sent a sympathy card hand signed by the folks in the office that helped us. I highly recommend them!

Tip for consumers:
Refer your friends for a $25 credit to your account. When you submit a claim, make sure you upload the DOCTOR'S NOTES as well as the invoice. THis speeds things along.

2/18/17

I ordered a web camera from TomTop. It was a great deal, but after ordering it I changed my mind and wanted a better one. I tried to cancel the order but there was no way to do this via the app or web interface. I needed to send a message or call. I sent a message, then a day later tried to call. They don't have 24hr customer service and you call China, so that was $3 spent getting nowhere. They responded to the email 2 days later saying it was too late to cancel the order (I sent it within an hour of buying it). It's a darn good thing I ended up liking the camera and decided to keep it. If they make improvements to customer service, I guess I'd try buying from them again.
