I had a good feeling about Select for a long time. Then On the 29th the day after I wrote a review, I needed my Select Home warranty and They could only find one (1) air conditioner company to come and Service. I called them and was told No Can Do. It will cost more for me to come out and I am not sure when I could get out there. We had already been without Air conditioning for 2 days. Well, I had spent all morning on the phone, I was HOT. I canceled it all.
We have had several home warranty companies. Select seems to be one of the best. I have never had any problems with or do I expect to have any problems. This is our 3 year. I hope it continues.
I have found SelectHome Warranty to be very responsive and they do their very best to work with my individual circumstances. The contractors they refer to me to help with my claims are also very responsible and very capable. Such a pleasant experience to work with this home warranty provider!
I called and spoke with Ann. Since they cannot find a service technician to come look at my clothes dryer, they offered to have me find my own and re-imburse me. Ann was helpful answering the questions I had concerning a technician and the reimbursement process.
I purchased a policy with Select Home Warranty.
My policy was fully in effect.
I needed to call for what was originally thought to be something plumbing ended up being a roofing problem. SHW was contacted for both.
SHW was unable to find in 48 hours, someone to take care of the roofing problem.
SHW gave me authorization to find my own repairman.
I found a repairman.
The problem was presented.
The repairman contacted SHW for authorization.
We BOTH spoke to the SHW AUTHORIZATION AND.
The repair was approved.
The amount to be paid was approved.
The repair was completed.
The payment was made for the AUTHORIZED AMOUNT OF $100.00.
The invoice was submitted.
Then an email was sent and discussion is on going.
SHW said that they would pay.
Now they say that they won't pay the total of $100.00 but only $25.00.
The person I talked to was helpful getting me the information I needed to submit a claim. I was a little disappointed with the amount of refund I am getting, but they said it was because of the age of the appliance. We did not purchase the appliances, they were in the house when we bought it 8 months ago.

I called SHW with a claim for a leaking faucet, broken garbage disposal and leaking toilet. I received their response to my claims. They are in the proceedings of finding ne a plumber for the faucet. Their research found that I was entitled to $75.00 to replace my year old garbage disposer. I have to buy a new disposer and send them the receipt and be reimbursed. I have to find and pay a plumber of my choice to install the disposer. The toilet is not covered.
I was happy with the call, there was the right combination of review, questions and added discounts as the call progressed. I wasn't keep on the call for hours on end but was given the opportunity to find more discounts so I am pleased in the end.
I was highly impressed with the customer service rep. He was highly knowledgeable, friendly and patient in answering my numerous questions and I received all of the information that I needed. I am a new customer and looking firward to being a customer.
Possibly the biggest scammers yet! They would not cover a basic problem. Even the technician that they sent out couldn't believe that they would not approve the repair. Watch out for the $75 cancellation fee that they don't tell you about... avoid this company.
They never have a repair man in our area which means we get our own, they have to call from our residence with the quote, which they will pay only a portion of, then you have to send the bill "paid in full" and they will send you a reimbursement check. ONLY, they sent the check to the wrong address and after 2 months of waiting, I'm on hold while they call the person at the address we don't live at and the work wasn't done at, to see if they have the check. I've already done that and they don't have a check with our name and address on it. I was also appalled to find out they don't pay the full amount for the repairs, less than 1/3 of the repairs. Now I get to find out how to get my money back for the several years I paid for in advance.
After reading all the reviews i decided to cancel my warranty... talking with people who have it I realized i was being scammed... they take money out of accounts without authorization & take FOREVER to fix the problem... STAY AWAY...
After I called for my first claim, select told me they will email me when they find a technician to fix my roof. They promise 24- 48 hours. Every time I called to follow up, they gave me a run around. I told them if they fail to keep their words I will cancel the policy, two agents agree to give me full refund. I was so frustrated dealing with them, after I waited 48 hours, no email from them. I suspect I got scammed. I called select 12:47am to cancelled. They want to me call their refund team the following day. I called my credit card company to put a dispute on the charge under section 75 they fail to deliver and not live up to expectation. My credit card company promise to deal with them.
We filed a claim on pur refrigerator. They did not replace it. Second, we filed a claim because our septic system backed up. It ran on our floor. We waited 48 hours and we did not hear from shw. We called and they said they could not find someone in our area. They told us to get our own plumber and they would reimburse the full amount. We did. They have refused to cover the amount. This is not a good co. We are going to use a company we used on a previous home, America home warranty.
I requested a balance if I cancelled my policy since they cover NOTHING. They in return refunded me the money $18 when I had 1.5 years left. They lied and said my recording stated I wanted to cancel and they will not refund me the appropriate amount or reinstate my warranty. DO NOT USE!
They don't cover your repairs. They say they will fix your toilet. The they say they don't cover If the Plummer has to move the toilet to see where the leak is coming from. Then they have the Plummer tell you that it will cost you $400 to move. That is after you gave them $75 before they will do anything.
This was my first claim with them. I canceled the policy and they are refusing to with me know when I will get my refund. Check the BBB before giving them your money. You will have hell getting it back. Their good reviews relatives or a paid service. There are 3,000 complaint on the BBB. Do not trust them.
I was shopping around for a home warranty online. A rep from SHW called me and explained my options. The rep was very professional, informative and played a major part in my decision to buy a warranty from Select Home Warranty.
I had a great experience working with Sol at select home warranty. I have yet to utilize the warranty but I've had a really good experience with home warranty companties in the past. I look forward to this being a great experience.
I have had Select Home Warranty for 1 year and I bought their 3 year plan. Today - 21 August 2020 was my first claim for our AC unit which is 5 years old this summer. The unit stopped working (likely something easy like a fuse or circuit board or capacitor). We have our AC units serviced annually for cleaning and I asked for Select Home Warranty to dispatch Fox Air (the local AC technicians who service our AC's) and they agreed to do so. They even asked for the telephone number to make sure that they called the correct AC Techs we wanted. This is how Home Warranty Service should work... if you have a team of techs you know that are reliable and trustworthy in your local area, then you shpuld be allowed to request them for service. Great job Select Home Warranty!

We'd had a problem that required immediate service so I had to call a local company. I was pleased that Select Home Warranty gave no hassle in reimbursing us! That was a problem we had with our last warranty company.
The representative I spoke to told me all about the plan and what he could add at no extra cost. He gave me a quote and then offered extra months at no extra cost. Then he offered me a better deal if i paid for the 5 year contract upfront. Plus I got a free year ontop of the 5 year contract. He was very pleasant and sounded like my relative! He made me feel at ease and confident in all he said. He won my trust and I signed for the full term.
Answer: Scam. Do not trust. They lie and will NOT cover your items.
Answer: Based on Internet searches but quickly found out that they are a SCAM.
Answer: After filing 5 claims, and one tech that wanted to pad his pocket resulting in me fixing my own leak in a toilet at my expense after paying their tech. And another tech wanting to get my pool setup for summer at150. More than I already gave for deductible she didn't fix my pump or water line to my pool. Both denied by select home Warrenty. And 3 more that I paid their techs for then had to fix it myself. Now my freezers compressor is out and they took money out of my bank account without my permission after saying they would go ahead and fix the freezer well guess what they declined it. And said it wasn't covered when in the contract it says it is. List all meat and others because of 3 weeks if waiting for them
