I selected the soft casters...and so glad I did. They don't show up as a line item on the order form, so just be aware of that when you order. They mention a limited warranty, but I didn't get any paperwork, so perhaps I imagined that. Also, I wish they had instructions on best way to remove the existing casters. They should pull straight off, but if the metal part is left behind, you'll have to grab onto it with pliers, and then hit the pliers upwards with a hammer, then they come out easily. But with lots of black grease.
Lazy, unorganized, unprofessional con artists... just another example of the New Jersey stereotype.
Terrible customer service, doesn't begin to describe just how awful this company is.
Placed an order for "Herman Miller Sayl Side Chairs Black Set of 2 Chairs"
Listed and sold as a "set of 2"
16 days later I received a message from their "customer service" department informing me that somehow the set I order (over two weeks prior)... was actually NOT available. They only had one of the two chairs they sold to me as a "set".
They clearly have no idea how to run a business! When it takes over two weeks for them to even start reaching out to their warehouse? Listing items online that they don't even have? What a joke!
They offered zero solutions, alternatives... not even promo code for their mistake.
The only solution was a refund... they stated the refund would be issued "within a week" that was June 27th 2019 (order placed on June 10th)
It is now July 12th and they have yet to refund my order of $449.
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!
There is a reason the BBB gives them an F!
I was skeptical ordering from here based on all of the mostly negative reviews but I decided to give it a try. Overall I'm pleased with the chair. There are some small scuff marks but given that its refurbished its in pretty good shape. It operates as it should as well.
You are required to create account to obtain tracking information. Website wants customer personal information apparently for unclear reasons. Wish they would simply provide access to tracking information and without requiring additional steps like other online retailers. I will not use this website again as a result.
The chair I received has worked well. No mechanical problems. I've purchased other refurbished items before and they have always arrived looking like new. The chair I received, however, was pretty dirty. I took a wet wipe to it and it was pretty black by the time I finished. There were also stray threads coming out of the seat pad. Nevertheless, after cleaning things up (and spraying the fabrics down, just to be sure), I've enjoyed using the chair, even after several months.
They didn't ship our chairs for over a month after we placed the order, despite their site saying it typically takes about 7-10 days to do so. We ended up having to email customer service just to get our order moving. The whole process was annoying.
Took way too long to arrive. No notice on the product that it takes up to 10 business days to even ship the product. Chair was supposed to be "restored to new condition" yet the back cross bar was cracked all the way through right in the middle and everything that can be scratched or scuffed is scratched and scuffed. Returning it would mean paying for shipping and paying a restocking fee so I'm stuck with this chair. I would never recommend Seating Mind to anyone I liked or cared about.
I sent you an email regarding my order. It was confirmed a month ago and I still have not received any notice(s) on shipping date / delivery. You call this customer service? You read that right, 1 MONTH.
Site easy to navigate. Received desk chair in reasonable time frame, in good order. Unpacked it, set it up and have been using it since. No instructions on the use of the features were provided, but it did not turn out to be a problem. I really do like all the adjustments that come with the chair to customize it's use.
I was surprised it took 2 weeks to receive our chairs, seeing as we are situated in Brooklyn (and your factory is in Jersey). We were charged the next day, I received a notification for shipping + tracking number -- and waited...for two weeks for any change in status. Ultimately, we didn't actually have a notification that the chairs were placed in transit -- and they were left downstairs below the stairs (meaning we'd need to actively seek them out).
***SEATING MIND IS A BAIT AND SWITCH SCAM COMPANY**** Beware and read all of the 1 and 2 star reviews customers have given. They have finally responded to some BBB reviews, but none appear to have been resolved.
After ordering our chairs for our office in 2018, it took Seating Mind THREE months to ship, and once they finally did ship, it took them another month to deliver. Once our order was delivered, the chairs arrived scratched up, broken, with loose or cracked arms. When we asked for new arms, they repeatedly sent us the wrong replacement arms, and finally just flat out stopped responding to our emails. When we would [occasionally] get email responses from "Customer Service", it would be in one word answers, and would refuse to answer questions/help. No one picks up phones. Often they would have an automatic reply email saying they were out for 3 weeks for unheard of holidays. Several times they asked for uploaded to YouTube video proof of our broken chairs (a picture wouldn't suffice?), and once that was uploaded, they still don't fix their wrong and ship out replacements! I think they just figure if they run you around enough you'll eventually tire and stop trying to get in touch with them. Best advice is to put in a claim to your credit card company - that is the best way to get a refund, rather than trying to deal with their nonexistent customer service. But before all that - save yourself the headache and don't order from Seating mind! BEWARE!
Was worried that the chair might be scratched up by the previous owner, but it arrived in perfect condition.

The delivery took longer than expected. A Fedex tracking number was created almost directly, but there was no movement for almost a week. No problem, happy to wait for such a good deal, but was starting to get a little worried it might have gotten lost or something. Anyway it all worked out fine, just needed a bit of patience.
If I could give this zero stars, I would. It's been a month since we placed the order and it still hasn't even shipped. Customer service never answers the phone, and when I email them I just get automated responses. This is ridiculous.
It was quick and easy to place my order. The chairs arrived very quickly. It would be nice to have basic instructions with the chairs - although once you do figure out how they go together assembly is easy. Thanks!
Overall shopping experience was easy. Questions answered quickly and with good detail. After I ordered the chair, lots of emails alerting me to the status of shipping. However, I didn't get an email stating exactly when the chair would be delivered. I happened to be home when FedEx made the delivery, so everything worked out.
This is a scam. Ignore the reviews as they are all fake. They stole over $600 from me and I never received a thing.
First time buyer, I was excited to find the chairs I had been searching for (at a reasonable price and a local New Jersey company, thinking the deliver would be fast)
It took 16 days to hear back from customer service, telling me that the set of chairs I purchased wasn't actually available. They somehow only have one chair (however it was sold on the site as a set) the agent offered zero compensation, alternative or solution to the issue. I was forced to cancel my order...and they told me the refund is going to take another week.
So I wasted three weeks with this company. It is embarrassing & unprofessional to say the least.
Sent me a rusty chair with a giant hole in the base. Unfixable. Now I'm out almost $500. Would not recommend.
I placed two orders about a month ago and still have not received one of them. I even paid rush on Order Confirmation (#*******) which I should get reimbursed for since it has not even shipped. The item is on back order which I was never told until I inquired about the order two times. Very disappointed with overall experience and lack of customer service.
The product I received is far below my expectations. It's clear the base and back were repainted and the paint was rubbing off within a few days of using the chair. The seat cushion foam is inadequate, and the seat fabric bunches up. SeatingMind has been completely unresponsive from a customer service perspective. Two emails and one phone call have gone unanswered. I'm very dissatisfied and considering filing a complaint with my credit card company.

Answer: This company may be legit, but from the research I have done online after my purchase experience with them, they totally scam people with their outrageous "restocking fee" policy.
Answer: Prices. But you're getting used stuff in god-only-knows condition. Stick with garage sales. These guys are shady. Beware.
