I ordered a $600 Herman Miller chair from Seatingmind 6 weeks ago, and they still have not shipped anything. After not hearing from them for the first 2 weeks after placing the order, I reached out to their customer service who promised the chair "would ship in the next 7-10 days". Now 6 weeks in and still no chair. They've also become unresponsive. STAY AWAY FROM THIS VENDOR.
As many reviews before me, misleading information (doesn't say is used/damaged). I returned the item and I have not receive the refund in months.
This is the worst company to work with. The only thing they have going is a pretty website. Its the website that caught my attention.
I bought my chair from them. The site stated it was leather. And theirs a price diffrence of 200 more for leather.
When the chair arrived. It was packaged in a box that looks like it was destroyed and just used one more time for my delivery. It was hanging together by tape. Just a mess upon arrival. I wish there was a way to post the pics.
We opened the box and the chair we paid 699 for was not leather... It was cloth.
I sent a message to customer service and they sent back and automated response.
I've waited 1 month for a reply and nothing... nada no reply from their customer service.
They had reviews posted on their website and the reviews were cherry picked.
Then I google " Seating Mind Reviews"... WOW WOW WOW... I have never seen a company with so many negative reviews.
These people are crooks and do not ever respond. I don't expect a return reply. Because their reviews are the worst. And their customer service is absent. If not blatant and intentional "ignore the customer"
I believe in karma. These people will get their own in time.
And I will copy and paste my truthful experience of this company.
Later, i realize that the usage of a good chair is used daily. Moving forward we will just buy the product from the actually vendor as oppose to rolling the dice with some scam company.
DO NOT BUY FROM SEATINGMIND. We purchased 6 chairs from them. We received 2 of them that were defective. We reached out to them provided pictures and a video and still to this day we haven't received the replacement arms and it's been almost a yr. They do not stand behind the product they sell.
Look somewhere else, this chair makes a lot of noise, sounds like something is breaking, the cylinder leaks a little and there base of the cylinder is cracked
SeatingMind sent me the wrong product, and then charged me a $130 (20%) restocking fee for sending it back. I had ordered a Herman Miller Aeron chair, size C, and paid extra for that large size. They instead sent me a size B. I asked for an exchange for the correct item, and instead they gave me the partial refund. Who
Throughout the return process they were not only dismissive of my complaints during communication with both the owner and their customer service, but they also added me to another customer's email thread, confusing me with him, and thereby compromising that customer's personally identifiable information. I didn't trust that the company would alert that customer that his information had been shared, so I reached out to him myself, and he confirmed they had not notified him. He too was sent the wrong item, and charged a restocking fee for returning it.
Charging people for sending them the wrong product is terrible. Treating them poorly when reaching out to customer service is also terrible. Compromising customers' information carries legal risk. Do not buy from this company.
Ordered chair on May 21st. By July, it had still not shipped, and I cancelled the order. They only refunded me part of my money, citing "costs" of ordering, and that they are "double charged" from the credit card processor (which isn't true, we are a merchant as well and that's not how it works). Seems like a scam, they let you order, never ship, then only give you partial money back.
This is their response:
"There is a significant cost related to order processing to customize and prepare your item before shipping as well as work involved in canceling an order, including credit card transaction fees of 6.8%, twice 3.4%. Therefore, according to our terms of service, we assess a 10% service fee on canceled orders that have yet to be shipped. The fee is in line with other retailers. Some furniture retailers charge 50% fee on canceled orders. Please see here more about canceling an order (linked an article from the site TheGuardian on what rights of cancellation usually means). We apologize and are very sorry about this."
If you use the site you'll see nowhere does it say 10% for cancellation, nor any notices about costs for ordering if cancelled during the entire ordering process.
I ordered HERMAN MILLER AERON CHAIR WITH POSTUREFIT SIZE B (OR C) BLACK on May/3/2020, and my chair was arrived on Jun/12/2020. The chair does not have "Forward Tilt Feature" which the chair must have. There is no lever and no wire for the forward tilt. I asked customer service to replace the chair, or return and get a full refund. On Jun/18/2020, customer service answered they will ship out the ONLY THE PARTS (lever and wire). Of course, I don't know how to install the parts to the chair. They must ship the chair which has installed all features.
I asked them again to replace the chair, or return and get a full refund. But there is no answer yet. I don't want to waste the time with this company.
I ordered a NEW GREY Aeron and got a used black one instead. They wouldn't acknowledge that it was used. I even ordered the additional soft wheels which they threw in the box instead of putting on the chair leaving me with the casters on the chair that showed obvious use. When I sent a pic they saw the one good wheel I had installed and accused me of trying to scam them. I have put in a Paypal dispute. DO NOT ORER FROM THESE SCAMMERS. They offered me a "refund" of $50 off the price I sent only they never even made good on that. Three times they delayed and then said they changed their minds.
Made an order over 6 weeks ago, no shipping notification, vague responses from customer service. I ended up having to dispute the charge with my credit card company.
Well, here we are, I sit in my Fern that just arrived maybe a few weeks later at most from purchase date.
I know the reviews SM has. Let's be honest, they arent good. They're a deterrent. Yet I took the chance and purchased from them anyway. Thankfully I live in NJ as well, where they ship from so that might account for the shipping time. The chair was missing a wheel but one could attribute that to the carrier. The condition said new, and it is in fact new. Doesnt come with papers or anything just the chair and thats that. The picture represent exactly what youll be getting.
The chair itself I wont really go off on because you can find enough information online about that. Honestly, I would purchase from SM again, considering this experience and price. I even emailed SM to ask about the chair to confirm what it came with features and all, and although responses did come back about a day later around 6pm est, they did respond, multiple times at that. I honestly dont know if i got lucky or maybe the demographic of those who buy office chairs are... just not right lol. Either way, A fair transaction, I paid (less than half normal price) and received a product as promised. Cant really say much that was negative about this whole experience.

Its 30 days since my order and nothing has arrived. Only one communication and now i doubt i will get either a refund or a chair in new condition as advertised without a fight. There is an interesting dichotomy between the reviews on this site I suspect many of the positive ones are fake. Given the timing of some of the reviews it seems a lot of people have been left hanging while trying to equip for working from home. That does not sit very well with me and I feel for the others writing reviews here who have lost time and money. More to follow as this story develops. ---- Adding to this review: It Seems Seatingmind are paying attention to reviews on TrustPilot.com, As they replied to my review there. For the record I have still not received any direct communication just a reply to this review. I have sent in a request to cancel my order and request a full refund. I will continue with updates if they choose to actually communicate directly with me. Also recommend people reading this to check BBB.org currently they have 27 complaints. In addition the reply here; indicates I knowingly purchased a reconditioned chair, for the record this is the description: 1 × Herman Miller Aeron Chair Fully Featured Size B Gray Frame Black Mesh. No mention that it is refurbished, it was advertised as a sale item I was expecting a new chair not a reconditioned one.
Please steer clear of this company! I really am shocked at the positive reviews here I am reading. Do some additional research on some other review sites before purchasing anything from Seatingmind. Note that they will charge you a restocking fee regardless of what happens after you place an order! I ordered two chairs from them this Spring. Company mistake #1 -- only one was sent. Company mistake #2 -- the chair had the wrong base. I had paid for an upgrade that was not what I got. Company mistake #3 -- the chair was completely beat up -- tons of scratches and dings and clearly not refurbished. I email my issues to the company and they had a shipping label sent to me so I could return the chair. I was refunded for the chair that never shipped plus a partial reimbursement for the one that did. What? According to Seatingmind: " we refunded your order less a 20% service fee for our team to get the item out of the packaging, make sure it is suitable for resale and in the same condition it was shipped and repack the product for resale." But I received a defective product, so why would I pay a service fee? This is the company's fault, and not mine. I should receive a full refund. I have emailed the company now over 20 times regarding this issue, and they have completely stopped replying.(Order *******.) Again, if you are thinking about purchasing from this company look at some other review sites before doing so and you will see a pattern of very unhappy customers. This is the worst online purchasing experience I have ever had.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PLACE! It is a scam. I contacted them before ordering asking how long it would take an item to ship and they replied 7-10 business days. After 10 business days I contacted them asking where my item was and was told it was out of stock. They asked if they could replace it with the same chair but with a different finish. I said if they could ship it within 24 hours and is new with all the same features sure. I did not hear back from them. I then sent them an email canceling the order. 3 days later they shipped a chair. Was it the chair I ordered? No. Was it new? No. Was it heavily used? Yes. Was it missing the upgraded features? Yes. After contacting them saying what the hell, they offered me $200 off my purchase price for the chair. The chair they sent was over $200 less then the chair I purchased and it was used. I then shipped the chair back to them and was charged again for the same chair after disputing the charge with my credit card company. Basically I was charged for a chair I did not want and do not have. Avoid this place like the plague!
I don't understand why this company has as high of a rating on here as they do since everywhere else they are low. If I could leave no stars I would. If I could leave negative stars I would. This is the worst company in the longline of bad companies. First of all do yourself a favor and google them. Every website has them with 1 star. Every review you find tells a horror story of dealing with them. If you look them up on Better Business Bureau, you'll find that they have had their certificate revoked.
I bought one of their chairs in July. Received it end of July and within a month it broke. The cylinder and the seating frame. When I reached out to them they wanted proof, so I gave them proof then instead of replacing the entire chair, they sent me parts expecting me to fix it myself. One of the parts I even had to fight for because at first they weren't going to help me with everything. It was only when I reminded them of their 12 yr warranty that they reversed their decision and sent me the parts I needed. When the parts came I didn't expect the fixing process would be as difficult as it was but it was so difficult that they sent me a video that poorly walks you through fixing the chair and surprises you with tools that are a must have in order to fix the chair. So I had to buy tools I never intended to buy just to fix this chair. Then while fixing the chair and following the directions of the video they sent me, the new cylinder broke.
Now they refuse to replace my cylinder and are telling me I can buy a new one. Again their warranty is for 12 yrs and this is covered under that and yet they refuse to honor it. It has been several months now of me fighting them to honor their warranty but they refuse.
Lenna the customer rep is one of the worst humans you will ever deal with. She cares nothing about helping you or even treating you like a customer. All she cares about is getting more money from you. These are horrible people that literally belong behind bars. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM.
Horrible experience, believe this company is a total scam. Ordered a FULLY OPTIONED Herman Miller Chair, didn't get communication or a tracking number, so after a couple weeks reached out to them. Finally received correspondence and they were building my chair... that sparked them to grab a stripped down OLD, USED, DAMAGED, NASTY DIRTY chair and shipped it to me. Was also missing the headrest we paid additional for, and the lumbar support was the cheap version and not the upgraded one we ordered and paid for. They do not answer their phones ever, so after a couple emails with photo proof the condition and after about 2 days finally received correspondence. They tried to deny the issue, but we demanded a return shipping label and shipped it back. Couple weeks later they refund holding back 20%, so we contacted and they are stating they kept 20% as a restocking fee... completely unacceptable as they did not ship what was ordered. We challenged them sending again photos proving the issue and then they stopped corresponding. TOTAL SCAM COMPANY in my eyes.
Cancelled my order because I never got the chairs as promised. Still have not received my refund and can't get a response from them.
This is not a reputable company, save yourself the hassle and just pay the full price better than dealing with these crooks..
Pretty good. Easy search, semi-informative response to queries. Initially, I was led to expect delivery in 5-7 days; on follow up, learned that there's processing time (to assemble the chair etc) so a longer lead them then I first expected. Not a huge problem but would've appreciated the full info at the get go.
