I am shopping for an area rug and stopped in at a local carpet shop recently and received a quote. I emailed the company representative for the quotes on the rug and sizes I was interested in. And, I received the email in return with the pricing.
I then surfed the net to see if anyone had better pricing and what that pricing would be etc. I contacted Rugs Direct for a price quote and asking them about their price matching policy. Yes, they priced matched plus 10% so I wanted to be clear as to what that 10% represented. The customer service rep wanted a price verification which is standard business policy. I gladly forwarded the email I received from the local company with pricing clearly stated.
Their company rep emailed me back with and here is the quote: "Would it be at all possible to get a more formal quote. Unfortunately, I am unable to accept this. Not saying that you did or would alter the pricing...
The insulting insinuation that a customer would alter the price was appalling. Especially when it is so easily verified with a phone call.
The take-a-way result of a company not accepting email quotes is that I would conclude is that I would need verification of Rugs Direct on a company letterhead with their representative signing the quote.
Email quotes is standard business policy but I guess Rugs Direct really doesn't want to match pricing. Just a come-on. I would never trust an email from this company. They may come back on you and tell you that you altered it!
This was my first experience ordering a rug from Rugs Direct and it will definitely be my LAST. The color of the rug did NOT match the description nor the photo: and I sent photos to back this up and they DENIED paying the return shipping fee: which turned out to be $260! 1/2 of the purchase price of the rug: so we ended up keeping it and hope to sell it ourselves and recoup some of the money. WHAT A SCAM~~don't fall for it.
The web site advertised a 15% discount and to check my text to get the discount code. No text! I tried several times. Ordered anyway but sure would have appreciated the discount.
While Rugs Direct was quick to take our order (i. E. Money) production was slow and delivery through FEDEX a nightmare. Still waiting for delivery after FEDEX sent emails last week and every day since indicating "Your package was loaded on a FEEX truck at 4:21AM and will be delivered by close of business tomorrow. WHERE IS THE RUG I PAID FOR?
Today sept 14,22 we are at Loloi rugs to return a rug in person( an 8 hr drive) bought on -line at rugs- direct. … or else pay $407.00 to return ship it back.
Never again and when we got to loloi rugs they rolled their eyes… another rug from rug direct and they were floored at the cost to return ship it from Edmond to Oklahoma.
If you buy a rug off rugs- direct better check the areturn application first. This will be our first and last rug from rugs- direct.
Customer service was blunt and didn't care period. So we drove it back to save 400. Dollars.
The return address provided by rugs direct. 4435 spring valley road does not match up either. Wow. Some customer service. If you Google it it says farmers branch Texas but I provided the receipt where they excepted the return and it's called Dallas Texas which is the address we were told to mail it to you for $400. The whole thing was a shenanigan will never buy from rugs direct again in our lives. Buy marshals or home goods and you can return it with in a month if it doesn't work out and it's a short 30 minute drive nothing like this experience we went through. Time bandit and even asking rugs direct for a return label via their price cost was quoted to us at 287. Oh and you had 24 hours to accept the offer. Some of us are nurses and after 2 12 hour shifts we are getting our rest not trying to commit to some unreasonable time constraint regarding g a label. Can't make this stuff up. Enjoy a rug bought else where! I'm sure polio itself does better!
The rug I received was very washed out - could hardly make out the pattern. Rugsdirect said that was normal and would not pay return shipping (rug is 9' X11').
Purchased a $1,600 rug and within 6 months it is falling apart. They said there was nothing they can do except offer a discount on a new rug purchase.
Do not order from Rugs Direct unless you are ABSOLUTELY certain that you will keep what you order. I ordered 2 rugs and 2 rug pads and unfortunately, none of the items worked so I had to return them. As it turns out, Rugs Direct doesn't pay for return labels so I had to pay over $500 to return everything. Needless to say, I will not be ordering anything else from Rugs Direct and I will be spreading the word so nobody else encounters the same disappointment.
I ordered a rug (Blue aqua Nourism) which is terrible and so cheap, but I found it on OVERSTOCK after ordering and when i called they said they couldn't give me lower price since the order was already made. I could have sent it back (and should have-it is falling apart after 3 weeks) but would have had to pay 150 to ship.
0 RATING. Very Inept, rude, incompetent Customer Service team. Accepted my purchase of a sale price 9x12 rug. Then they cancelled my SALE PRICE order and told me to reorder BUT AT FULL PRICE. BUYERS BEWARE! (I have all indeph correspondence with customer service emails documented and saved).
Do not buy from them! Quality is not good. Rug does not look like picture. We want to return rug and quote to ship back is $200! Almost the cost of the rug. Will never use them again!

Rugs Direct are a disingenuous, underhand, untrustworthy, unscrupulous, double-dealing company to deal with. Very deceitful. I ordered matching rugs in 2 sizes the week before Christmas, not a gift. There was no approximate shipping date, it wasn't till Christmas morning that i received an email that the larger rug was shipped. Then i received a seperate email telling me the smaller one was on backorder till the end of February. I decided to be patient and wait, only to find out after i inquired that its on backorder till April. Now i had the larger carpet over the return date and obviously can't be returned. What's deceiving is they wait till Christmas morning when you can't call anyone and tell me they shipped a carpet, yet the matching one is on backorder, why does it take a week to tell a customer its backorder. Most online companies, tell you immediately when choosing a product that its unavailable on backorder. If i was notified in a day or two i would of canceled the order and picked out another design. I was trapped. Can you believe that even this morning you can go back into the site and it still doesn't state that the carpet isn't available on backorder. Its a shame cause i can't imagine how many people this has happend to and the company just doesn't give a crap, it's like oh well.
The rug we purchased started showing signs of buckling. When we contacted RD they referred us to their 14 day return policy! Buyer beware...
Stay away from these crooks! They will take your money and then never return your calls or emails when enquiring about delivery.

Received my rug and it was of terrible quality, very thin and cheap looking. I asked to return the rug. The rug was shipped from a warehouse that is10 miles from my house in Fontana CA, however, to return it, it had to be returned to a warehouse on the East Coast at my expense for shipping. Rugs Direct told me that the warehouse cannot accept returns. The shipping cost to return to the east coast was almost as much as the total cost of the rug.
I also purchase a rug pad from Overstock.com for this rug and when I realized I was not going to keep the rug I asked Overstock to return the pad and there was no problem or no return shipping cost. The funny thing is it was returned to the same warehouse in Fontana where the rug came from that Rugs Direct said their rug could not be returned to. I did not have a problem paying for return shipping from where it was shipped from, but why would I pay to ship it back all the back to New York. NEVER again will I purchase anything from Rugs Direct! Terrible return policy! Terrible Customer service!
Love this rug. It is a relatively difficult size to find something beautiful. Very happy with it. It matches in my bathroom perfectly.

Answer: Wayfair is too expensive, and, they only match prices on their stores! That's what I was told!
