I ordered the Limited Edition CJ Black Cologne on 12/6/18. I used a promo code and free ship to store, which brought my total to $13.95. I processed my order through PayPal in order to refrain from putting my debit card info online.
I have called to check the status of this order a few times now, due the lack of corresponding emails. I have been given nothing but excuses. I was told by Marie that I used a foreign card (false because I am from the US; also false because I paid with PayPal). She then told me the payment was declined.
Upon learning this, I contacted PayPal, who told me that the payment was never processed and I needed to contact the company again. So I did.
This go-round, I spoke with someone (name was Stephanie?) who told me that I had a hold on my account. I argued because I knew for sure that was false. I told her that PayPal told me that the transaction was never processed. After going back and forth, I learned that my order was cancelled. She tried to play it off as the order was cancelled by me, which it wasn't. After arguing with her some more, she told me that the order was canceled by the system. I proceeded to ask why and she said the item was out of stock. That would have been nice to know when I placed my order, or even to know after the fact via a courtesy call or email.
I should not have been left in the dark with this.
The transaction is still pending on my PayPal account.
I place 2 order (jacket) and only ONE jacket came in! I recieved a sheet of paper saying that it's two jacket I recieved NO THE FCK way I didnt recieved two jacket. I called in and asked "why? What was the reason they couldn't send that one particular item out to me!?"and her reply was NOTHING but if she can refund me back. Okay? I want to know why the fk you guys didnt send it out to me but stated on the paper that it was both of the jacket?... I dont understand what this is but this is no business! Stay away and I read lots of bad reviews on their shipping! Now asking how long will my refund take? One month! One month! Are u serious? I told her I wont be ordering anything with then anymore. And that's that. Its not the money... its how they run their business.
I'd like to share my experience with a picture... Rue21 is a store we would visit weekly. We've since moved and had to do our shopping online. Here's our very first time experience with online Rue shopping experience: We ordered such a simple order of:
2- #rue (Mens Cologne)
2- CJ Black Cologne (Mens Cologne)
My husband's order arrived with 4 varieties of ladies fragrances:
1- Blush (Lady Fragrance)
1- Revert eco (Lady Fragrance)
1- #rue (Lady Fragrance)
1- Pink Ice (Lady Fragrance)
We found the customer line and my husband politely explained on the phone that Rue21 didn't receive anything he paid for. Basically, Rue took our money, didn't send even one single item he purchased and then told him that he would have to make their mistake corrected?! The young woman on the phone was very polite and explained that she had to put us on hold twice to get the issue resolved with her superiors and they said, "Sorry! Return the package. Once we have it back, we'll make this right." We have 3 options: 1) Re-order the correct purchase at full price and wait for a new package to potentially be messed up again. 2) Accept the original order and never purchase online because it was so royally screwed we probably won't trust it again... or 3) We "can" send back the package with the free shipping label that STILL has not been emailed to him.
Overall, this has been a horrible first purchase experience with Rue's website and I don't think we will make purchases from the store when we come across one anymore either. We didn't feel like our transaction was honored or that our experience mattered to the company. I thought we would be taken more seriously, and we were dealt with callously.
I'm also really disappointed because we have loved shopping Rue21 every week when we lived close to one. I'm not sure we ever left the store without purchasing a dozen items every time! Now we don't live near a Rue21 location that isn't out of the way for us, but this experience has made us really not want to ever shop the store ever again! We don't want to support a business that treats us this way.
I will make changes to this review in the event that Rue21 comes through for us and resolves this issue in an agreeable manner. Otherwise, we're taking our money elsewhere!
If you're not in a hurry to get your clothes or accessories when ordering online, this is a really great place to shop. They have really good deals and my package came by the 7th day I paid for standard shipping also ordered the Saturday after black Friday, so I'd imagine they were pretty busy. I'm very pleased with everything I purchased from them. I would rate them 100 stars if I could! Will be a returning customer!
DON'T DO IT! Im only leaving a one star because it will not allow anything less. I ordered something online, they sent 2 packages, with the same tracking number, only one was mine. The one which was not mine, was delivered. The other left at post office. I paid to get it out, $10, only because my daughter needed it for her dance solo. They tell me they can't refund me and that it is my problem. Their customer service sucks, they don't want to help... and barely understand you and you can barely understand them over the phone. Dont waste your time or risk money with the company.
I ordered two items. A pair a $5 pajama pants and a $24.99 throw. Which I ended up paying $40.60 for after shopping. When the package came in all is had was the $5 pants. Firsts time I called about the problem I got hung up on. The second time I called I was told to take pictures of the package and items I received and email them which made no since but I do anyway. Four days later I call back and speak to someone different who sent me an email with another email address and stated on the phone with me while I sent the pictures a second time. Both times told my email didn't come to them. After being on the phone for over an hour I finally get a supervisor whom I'm told is going to tell me the exact same thing. She tells me I will get my $24.99 back for my throw threw PayPal but it will take 15 days! Didn't take 15 days for Rue 21 to get my $40.60 but also I'm reaposible for then$7.95 it cost to send my $5.00 pair of pajama pants. So shipping cost more than the item. Here's the other kicker. The pajama pants came in the wrong size. I ordered all my Christmas online and cheap a** Rue 21 was the only one to screw something up and not willing to make things right. So if you call customer service and get Michelle, Megan, Jackie or Sue I can guarantee you there's no help coming your way. Go ahead and count your losses
I ended up buying 11 pairs of leggings and a shirt online because they were having a great deal. I usually buy in store but this time around I couldn't get to the store before closing and before the sale ended. I was so upset that I waited a week only to be sent the wrong items. I was sent around 30 shirts of various variety and sizes. It looked like a box that should have been sent to a store to be inventoried in and put on racks. The right receipt was in the bag but none of my things were. I called customer service and was unable to get to any real solution. They wanted me to return the items with a barcode they would send through my email (which they NEVER did!) and wait for my refund AFTER they got the incorrect package and then repurchase ALL my items again, if they have it. They wouldn't let me talk to a supervisor and they're English is so broken I couldn't hardly understand what they were saying. I called 20 times for a resolution only to be pawned off on a person who couldn't fully understand what I was saying. I ended up going to a store, where Sarah, a manager, helped me out. Their stores are amazing but this customer service line and online shopping is THE worst experience I have ever had with online shopping. I will NEVER shop with them again. Too much miscommunication and inconvenience. STILL didn't receive the shipping label for the return. That just shows you the bare minimum they do and retraining they need. Ridiculous and sad experience. Don't do your shopping with them online if you can help it!
Really wish I would have read about online ordering b4 I placed an order. This is unreal. They make a huge mistake by sending me somelses order and now want me to do all the work to return it to them. On top of that they won't refund my money until they get the order back. How is this ok. No wonder they keep going out of business on the malls.

Shipped wrong items back and a week later still have not received a refund or been contacted as I was told I would be after the items were returned. Terrible customer service - can't understand any of the representatives I've spoken to and then get treated rudely because THEY speak terrible English - but that's what you get when you outsource your service to another country. I ordered some clothes received them promptly. A shirt and a pair of shorts were to small. I paid $7.70 For postage to have 2 things a total of $13 to send them back for a refund Within 30 days for the return policy to be credited back to my credit card. A month and a half later I still have not got my refund. I called. Rue 21customer service to make sure they received my items, they did recieve it 2 days later. Tried to get my money back They wanted to send me a gift card. The said I did not meet the 30 day policy which I did. Never again will I ever give Rue 21 any of my money. I never had so much grief to get $13 back for a full refund from any online shopping. I'm so disappointed and upset with this company, so very sad. Will be calling the Corporate office.

Rue bucks are a joke. I have tried every which way possible to redeem my rue bucks. Everytime i put my coupon code in on line it states that i can not use rue bucks with any other offer. Keep in mind everything i attempted to purchase was not a buy one get one in any way or form. I was trying to purchase everything full price and then use my rue bucks. I will never ever shop at RUE 21 again. It is such a joke! Dont waste your time or money. I spent just about $300 back at the beginning of August for my kids and i received $140 in rue bucks that can't be used. NEVER EVER again will they have my business. LIES LIES LIES RUE BUCK ARE FAKE AND CANT BE REDEEMED and customer service is a effn joke. All their customer service reps our obviously out of the country and refuse of offer any real assistance. Their expectation if for me to spend more money in order to use my rue bucks. And they kept telling me that i can not purchase anything that already has a deal. I ordered a gift card that never arrived and when I call customer service, nobody knows what to do about it and nobody will refund my money. Not to mention you have to wait on hold with the same classical piano song on repeat for almost an hour before they answer.
My children and I had the worst experience at Rue 21 in Edinburgh, Indiana. The store employee was clearly being racist toward my children, as well as used her key to open the dressing room while my daughter was in there trying on clothes! All my life, I haven't had someone invade my privacy in this way. I reported the whole experience to the manager Amanda and she basically defended the lady's actions and didn't address it. Shrugged her shoulders like oh well. If you are black stay away from that store in particular because discrimination is encouraged. If that is the type of behavior promoted, you do not know what else those employees are capable of. Shop at another store. I've never wrote a bad review on a store before but I have to warn everyone else Of this type of treatment and this in particular store. Our experience was ruined for a moment that day. We shopped for 2 days.The other stores we went to and the outlet mall was very nice and the customer service was great. I'll say it again they encourage discrimination at rue 21 and the Edinburgh outlet mall. There's so many things that I didn't say in this message but just know that I wouldn't even write a review if it wasn't something crazy.
This company basically stole my money. They will not refund my money because UPS lost my package. It's ridiculous to not hold UPS accountable for the lost merchandise. Instead, I spent money for absolutely nothing.

Love rue 21. Some of the clothes are cheap in fabric but most aren't. They have some weird styles for girls. I do like some though. The perfume they have smells amazing too.
I applied for a job MONTHS ago, It took the manager 1 month to set up a interview. I go in to have my interview that I THOUGHT went pretty well and I do not receive the promised feedback from this manager NOREEN REED! I called to follow up on my interview and almost every single time she was not working. She does not go to this job more than once a week. I find that unprofessional and rude, anywho! She looked me up and claimed that I would receive a callback and never did! I placed an online order from Rue 21 on July 2nd, and decided to pay $17.95 for 2 day shipping in hopes that I could wear all my new clothes on vacation. I was not scheduled to leave for vacation until July 7th, so I figured 2 day shipping would be perfect. However, it is now July 7th and I am leaving town for vacation with no package in sight. I have called several customer service representatives, none of which will offer me a refund until the package is in my hands. However, none of them are able to tell me where my package is. So not only did this company refuse to honor my 2 day shipping option which I payed for, but they also lost the package and refused me a refund. I am very frustrated and regret spending $103 at such a scamming place. I will NEVER shop at Rue 21 again!

Customer service is really bad in general but don't expect your stuff to arrive quickly even if u do 1 day shipping, it can arrive like weeks later
