Roomster is a fraud, and a waste of other peoples' time. From my experience and the look of the reviews on here, Roomster is posting fake reviews of itself.

I posted an ad on Kijiji to find a roommate, and today I have had multiple text messages from Roomster reps linking me to their site. One even pretended to be looking for a room, providing me with a link to their profile on Roomster. I texted back that I couldn't read it, and they tried to get me to join the site. I pointed out that they were texting with a New York phone number for an ad in Calgary, Alberta, and when I asked if they were in Calgary, and they never responded. The other text from them was from someone who claimed to be named Catherine R. Olivio.

I posted an ad for a roommate, not for spam messages from a desperate company.

I used to live with my family. For educational purpose, I shifted to Los Angeles. There I was in dire of a room. One of my classmate gave me the address of Roomster website. In that website I got a suitable room for me.

I am so happy with my Roomster experience! I never post reviews online but this site was such a lifesaver. I had been living with two other roommates in a really cramped apartment and it was already expensive but when my lease came up for renewal my landlord wanted to increase it so much that I knew I wouldn’t be able to afford it. At first I was freaking out because I didn’t know what I was going to do. I started going through all these scenarios in my head of where I was going to live, would I be homeless, would I have to move back into my parents house. I was stressing like crazy and it was affecting me very negatively. A friend of mine told me that they found a great deal on a place on Roomster so I checked it out. First off the site looks great, super clean intuitive interface. After easily setting up my account I started looking through the listings and eventually found an amazing deal on a room well within my budget! So happy I found this site it really saved me.

I signed up for a 15-day subscription for Roomster and could not be happier. I made a listing for a room I was renting out and Roomster made it very convenient to find a suitable person to rent to, thank you!

These people have so many fake dream home adverts in other pages such as Craigslist that all prompt you to subscribe to this app in order to communicate with them. Most of the adverts in this app are also fake or scam. The problem with their business is not automatic renewal as this is clearly mentioned and you may cancel auto subscription, but the issue is huge volum of scam attempts done in their app. Most of the good looking adverts are fake or scam. Moreover, the way these people get you to this app is also deceitfully. Just beware and dont throw out your money.

I like roomster. This is a wonderful website as I think. Many of rooms cost are reasonable there. I found my current room within 11 days and this is possible only for roomster.com. There has many rental website in online but, I think roomster is so perfect from all of them because, I found a room from roomster. So I am very pleased with Rommster.

I get a ton of messages in my inbox but they're not actually directed to me. They're just general messages. Most of them aren't. Even interested in living in my part of town and can't afford my room for rent. This feels disingenuous.

I am a student. I need a roommate to stay. Previously I used to stay with a person but, he was very messy. For this I was looking for a new roommate. After searching for a long in online I found the Roomster website a got a very good roommate. He is very friendly, responsible, neat & clean.

I had a friend who was recently wrongfully evicted from her apartment by her landlord. While she is suing him in small claims court shes been crashing with me and weve been looking into getting her a room to rent. We found Roomster after doing some research online and read some good reviews. We found the site very manageable and reasonably priced to use, and they had a ton of rooms available in various budgets. We found her a room to rent in a really nice building after about three weeks on the site.

I recieved a text (from what appeared to be a realtor friend) and based on his recommendation I posted a rental listing on roomster. It was a bogus text which means someone affiliated with roomster is checking out rental listings on CL and recommending that they try listyourental.com which then takes you to roomster. There is no way to delete my account and the 24/7 support is not responding.
Bad, really bad... But my fault in not verifying the text!

Avoid at all costs. You have to pay to join, you have to pay to have your identity "verified", and you have to pay if you want to communicate with anyone else on the site. You're going to have to communicate with others on the site if you want to rent a room. Is that not true? So, the "free" site isn't free at all. It's a scam, going after the low-hanging fruit. That's you, if you make the mistake of joining.

I used to have this psychotic girlfriend who for some reason used to wander into my roommates room in the middle of the night and it got to the point where my roommate actually moved out. I ended up breaking up with my girlfriend but now I had a vacant room in the apartment and I couldn't afford to live there on my own so I went online to see what my options were. I ended up on Roomster and really liked the layout of their site and it seemed like they had tons of people on there so I made a listing for my available room. Within days I had so many people nagging me about the room I was able to take my pick out of all the applicants it was a really painless experience and their rates were not bad either.

Couple of months ago I had a very idifficult situation with accomodation because I just moved into new area and I didn't know what to do. I was very tired of living in motels, hence I have decided to rent an apartment in order to start build my life on a new place. I applied to this company and the staff here seemed to me very polite and responsive. They explained me everything and the most important thing for me was that they could help me to solve my living problem. I'm really grateful to this company that they perforemd their work perfectly.

A few months ago I had a really horrible roommate experience that almost convinced me never to live with a roommate until marriage. My Roommate had a weird sleep disorder where she would not only sleepwalk but he would rearrange everything in the house while she was asleep! One morning I woke up to find that he put my fishbowl with the goldfish my boyfriend got me in the freezer! It was dead by the time I found it and I was so fed up with the situation that I moved into my boyfriends place until I figured out what to do. While there I was doing research online about finding a place o live and I came across a really attractive listing on Roomster that seemed too good to be true but I decided to give it a chance and signed up. It turned out to be totally legit and I contacted the listing owner and secured the room for an amazing rate. Lets hope this time doesn't turn out like the last one!

Not enough information about single rooms, such as whether there is private bathroom, parking, etc. Need more details provided by person renting out room. Roomster Partners never respond to any of my messages.

Roomster made finding a roommate so easy! I just moved into a great place close to school but for the life of me couldn’t find a roommate and it was getting way too time consuming, Roomster was easy to set up and I was able to find someone who met the criteria very easily.

You'll keep getting me telling you the same thing, it's predatory to put a means of contacting other members behind a paywall. If I wasn't homeless and desparate, I would never $#*!ing use this site. Unfortunately I'm both right now.
