Our son, Samuel, is moving to New York City next fall, and his safety is of the utmost importance to us. Samuel is starting his studies at Columbia, and based on the research we did on the area, if you go a block or two in the wrong direction you enter a less desirable neighborhood, so knowing he is in an adequate location certainly gives us our peace of mind. The Roomster was absolutely wonderful to us, and Samuel has his apartment waiting for him once he arrived in New York City, and we were able to negotiate the price, so we will get a great location with a better price than what others have asked for! We are looking forward to Sam’s new adventure, and have arranged to meet his new fellow student roommates once we get him settled in.
My old roommate and I used to be really close friends until after we moved in together, which changed. He flunked his classes that semester, didnt have a job, and depends on mommy and daddy. At age 21. I however, have a job, I attend school, I pay for everything myself, and I have my priorities right. He waited our sewer and water bill out and never told me until the weekend before it was due and made ME call the office to make sure it wasn’t “fraud” because he is psycho. Then, he was gone for the whole Christmas break, calls me up and asks me to forge a check for him to pay rent, which I didn’t because that’s stupid, so I say just drop the check off in the dropbox, it won’t be considered late. That kid didn’t do it, so now we are late on rent. I decided I had to find a new living situation so I found a chill girl to room with on Roomster.com.
After a friend found a really great deal for a room on Roomster I tried it out and had an equally great experience. Got a 3-day subscription just to test out the waters and found a super affordable CLEAN room within 48 hrs! Bah!
What does it mean to have a subscription that renews? To trick people into paying if they forget to cancel it? I would have chosen a longer subscription myself if I wanted it. Unethical marketing, pathetic service. Disgusted.
I give them no Stars! They don't deserve it. Horrible, you get emails send from an automatic response for customer service. They have a bunch of scams out there and has no response to the concerns you send them! They also automatically charge you for a riduculous amount! WARNING: Do no attempt to use!
I am 20 years old and I live with a man who is 35 and he is not friendly. So I required a new room which I need a man who is friendly. I found a suitable room only for $450.00/month in the site which name was Roomster.com. This site is really awesome and helpful site. Roomster’s service is best.
I almost got duped into a scam by someone who found me on this website. He was trying to get me to send him money through CashApp and said he was going to mail me keys and the lease agreement upon receiving the deposit.
App & Browser are very glitchy.
App: Search and Availability calendar frequently glitch out, requiring restarting the app. Budget filter is very difficult to use.
Browser: Frequently freezes on a page in Google Chrome. (Google Chrome doesn't freeze, the loading screen of Roomster does).
A colleague I work with suggested I try Roomster when I was looking for roommates and I’m so grateful that they did. What is usually a nightmare was so quick and painless I am so happy with the level of service on Roomster. Would highly recommend!
I'm trying to find a place to live, tight on timeline, and found that a lot of ads on Craigslist were ploys by Roomster trying to lure unsuspecting people to sign up for an account on the Roomster website. Dishonest deceptive business! Waste of my time and energy. F-U-Roomster.
So you want to find a room, right? Probably you would like to try Roomster.com! Let me tell you my experience with Roomster.com, OK? On the 29th of May, I was so desperate to find a room. Then I paid Roomster.com $7.95 for trial period and got a receipt. When I tried to access the room list, I was prompted to plug in Google extensions. At that point, I got stuck and moved nowhere. I got no help from customer service. Too bad I did not cancel my subscription right away. On the 4th of June, Roomster.com charged my card for $24.95. They sent me no receipt. They claimed if I did not cancel the subscription during the trial period and will be billed again for the regular monthly service. So what is
The point of trial period. Do you think Roomster.com showed efforts in making service? Do you agree Roomster.com is busy in raking money?
So you want to find a room? Do not try Roomster.com! Never !! On the 29th of May, I was so desperate to find a room. Then I paid Roomster.com $7.95 and got a receipt. When I trial to access the room list, I was prompted to plug in Google extensions. At that point, I got stuck and moved nowhere. I got no help from customer service. If was my mistake that I did not cancel the pay subscription right away. Five days days later, Roomster.com billed me for another month without a receipt. In my opinion, Roomster.com showed no ethics or care of my issue. They did not help me resolve the extension issue. Money is all they want.
I was in hesitation to use roomster.com. But my uncle was confirmed about roomster that it is the best website for searching rooms. Then, I signed up on roomster.com, it surprised me, within only 2 weeks I found a nice room that I really want. Now I can say, ROOMSTER IS BEST.
I used Roomster to find a new place to live because I had a horrible roommate that I found through craigslist. We met online and met up for coffee to make sure we were compatible to live with each other. At first everything seemed normal but slowly my roommate started showing their true colors. It started with simple things, dirty dishes left in the sink, lights not being turned off when leaving the house, and then it got worse. My roommate apparently had a bad drug problem and started having all these really shady characters come thru the house at all hours of the night. One night I found one of their drug buddies passed out on the bathroom florr1 after calling an ambulance to take them to the hospital I knew I needed a change. That’s when I found Roomster. I was really happy with how easy the site was to use, I found a great roommate through the site and I couldn’t be happier.
It's to bad you have to pay for this. When I can just go on line and find the same. Thing also why should I have to pay to get a number to call for something when I could just go on the internet, I hope I get to call these two people after I pay 7.95
I got the trial membership and I thought I wouldn't be charged for the full version for several weeks. 5 days later, I was charged 24.95 for the full membership. During the trial period, anyone I messaged never replied. I emailed the company asking for a refund because I believe the information was misleading. They were rude and said I wouldn't be refunded. Please don't waste your time or money. You'll spend 30+ bucks on absolutely nothing.
Was searching for a place on roomster.com before I ended up just renewing my lease at my current apartmet. The website was really great though and since I didnt use it for long I asked if I could receive my money back, and they helped me out so quickly and seamlessly! Gracias
Was looking for a new location in the city once my divorce was finalized, and somehow stumbled upon Roomster.com on the Pinterest app. Getting divorced was a pain, but finding an apartment didn’t have to be. At first I was a little overwhelmed with the number of results for apartments in UES, but a quick filtering of the results helped me find my current apartment, and so much more. A broker had listed the apartment I found, and not only was I not charged the broker’s fee, he was also well versed in the area, and within our hour long meeting I had found my new Laundromat, grocery & drug store, and go to restaurants. Derek was very friendly and had provided so much more than I asked for, as did Roomster.com. I hope to remain in this apartment for a long time, but in the future if I end up moving again I will return to Roomster.com and pick up where I left. A+
Not great, but the platform is very promising and very easy to use. It is not appropriate for us to use the platform as a personal account, since it is a business I hope this can be improved in the future.
I found a beautiful room from www.roomster.com. Now I’m living there. I am happy because, there has a playground in front of my room. I found my room within my budget. The landlord of the room is very cool & fresh minded. So that, I am so enjoying to live in my room. Thank you www.roomster.com.
Everybody wants money before they give any help, so I never give 5 stars. Make Sense? If I made money FIRST before being asked to pay anything even if it was just a 7 day trial proving to me that it works because I find a tenant for my room, then this would like to client thinking maybe I should pay? So here it goes, I paid for 7 days and if I do NOT get a renter from the 7 messages in my inbox for APRIL then I won't be spending anymore money on your website! Make sense? It means you need to give people longer periods of free trial for ongoing customer service or else they will be a time use person and then gone! Take care, hope that all made sense to you?

Answer: These are untrue statements. We have asked our many satisfied customers to post their positive experiences about Roomster to counteract the negative, and mostly untrue statements posted about us. If you notice that Sitejabber has negative reviews of almost every company doing business in the united states. If it was all true, there would be no business left and everyone would be out of work. People never write good reviews, people love to be negative. Its sad.
Answer: Hi Aminah, Roomster did not post that ad on Craigslist, we did not create that link and there fore we can not offer support for it. This looks to be one of our affiliates, who should not be doing this. We will be removing this person from our affiliate program. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Answer: That makes little to no sense. Undeleted? What does that even mean? N you want to create an account after you deleted it? Go ahead.
