John, I thing Steve did not delete his account himself. Like me he probably gets the "Your account has been deleted message" because of a not very active FB-account.
Once you get the "deleted"-message, you can not click the help function or contact the 24h customer service without getting the "deleted"-message. Mails to firstname.lastname@example.org
, as recommended in the terms, do not get an answer.
A problem roomster should either fix or communicate clearly about by stating roomster only wants to handle FB-addicted people.
