Arrived at the time which was given despite short notice given. Took care to establish problems. Polite and efficient service. Would certainly recommend your service to others.

Massively overcharged
November 16, 2021

I ended up paying £174's for a 3 minute job. I should have looked at the reviews on all the websites. There's also online articles in the Guardian and on knownscams.uk

Firstly, has anyone else noticed that 6.6% of reviews on Rightio's site are 1-star, whereas over 50% here (and way more than that elsewhere) are 1-star? I wonder why that is...

It's no wonder, though, that this company has £1.1million of liabilities. The engineer spun the very simple job out to last way longer than it should have
(they charge by the hour) and I had to get another company to come in
And finish the terrible job he did. The second (non-Rightio)
Plumber confirmed that the standard of the work was appalling and
Should have taken a quarter of the time (this guy did indeed do a brilliant
Job in a quarter of the time). I spoke with a Rightio representative on the phone, who seemed to enjoy repeating the phrase "we've concluded our investigation
And the plumber said that the times on the sheet are correct" (my other
Half, who was looking after our newborn daughter in the other room at
The time, unfortunately signed the document without knowing any better, trusting that they'd done a decent job). Their "investigation" is nothing. Scum, crooked company.

Thieves
November 15, 2019

Rightio are criminals. They charge very high fees and if you do not go ahead, they still charge you inspection fee of over £130 even if there was nothing inspected.

Avoid at all costs!
August 27, 2020

Awful company, do not use! I called Rightio to put a new outside tap on for me, the operator told me it was £139 and there were no hidden cost, this was a lie. The engineer arrived and put the tap on for me, and put some copper pipe in also as he didn't like to use hose pipe. He was there for 42 minutes, he charged me £139, £15 for materials and £30 vat so a total of £184! For an outside tap. 6 days later the tap falls off! I called them and they sent an engineer out the next day to look at it, every operator that I spoke to informed me it was a none chargeable job. The engineer came out and said it was odd that the tap looked like it had been snapped off, I said it was odd to as my gate is always locked so not sure how it happened but as I was under a years warranty it should ok as the tap may have been faulty. A couple of days later another engineer was scheduled to attend and put a new tap on the wall, I then get a call from an operator informing me the engineer was on his way and they wouldn't charge me for the labour but to put a new tap on it would be £40 plus £8 vat! I was furious, I told they not to bother coming as that would take the total charge up to £234 which I was not paying. I have put a complaint in and nobody has even bothered to contact me, I've send 5 emails now. DO NOT USE THE COMPANY!

Avoid - very overpriced
January 24, 2018

I would avoid this company as they are overpriced and not especially efficient. I had an electrical job that involved replacing the fusebox as a fuse kept tripping. The initial call out was dealt with fairly quickly (i. E. an electrician came out the next day) and but the charge was a whopping £124, and this was after a weird 'negotiation' with them (I think their charges are based on how busy they are - this was a 'not busy' call out charge).

After this initial 'appraisal' by an electrician, the job to supply and fit a new fusebox needed a further £700-800 (final cost would depend on how long it would take, as they quote per half hour).

From initial appraisal to pricing for the new fusebox and quoting for the job to fit the fusebox, it took 3 and a half weeks, one 'lost' (defected) engineer and about 6 slightly frustrating phone calls. Not what I would describe as high-end efficiency.

This - to supply and fit a fusebox. I'm afraid I did not, and could not, justify the expense and did not go ahead with it. I went to another company and got the job re-appraised all over again and actually done - all in under a week - for £480 all in. This was in the autumn of 2017; I have all the required certification and have not had any problems since.

The only good thing about this company is the politeness of the people who answer your calls. They are all sweetness and courtesy, and the one star here is all theirs.

My advice would be to shop around if you can. Even if you are desperate, I wouldn't go with anyone charging a call out over a hundred pounds - doesn't bode well...

I called rightio as a result of a Google search for boiler repair, which produced a listing which claimed 'no call out charge'.
The agent on the phone said if we carry out the repair you'll be charged £139 +vat per hour for labour plus parts and no monies payable till completion of work, I was then asked for card details but I refused. The engineer arrived 2 hours early, while I was still working, was there for under 10 mins, did no work (the repair quote was so high I did not want to proceed) and then asked for payment of £166.80. I refused and was told the office would call me that day. I have received no call, but have had an email billing me for the above. I can see from the many 1 Star reviews that this seems to be their playbook, and now the stress of a potential £166 for nothing, when I'm going to have to find over 1k for a new boiler, is more worry than I need. I'm disgusted by my own experience, and even more so for the treatment of elderly and vulnerable customers that I see throughout these reviews. I've contacted trading standards, and now await the likely threatening debt collection letters which are no doubt the next phase of this company's attempts to extort money for nothing

I initially booked an appointment weeks in advance for a Tuesday. The Sales Advisor was excited to tell me that they can attend after 5pm which worked with my schedule.
I called again about a week before to confirm the appointment. I was told that they don't do slots after 5pm and it would have to be the next morning, 8am-12pm.
The morning came and I received a call around 10am saying there isn't currently an engineer available. I was informed that someone will come in the afternoon.
Later that day I was told that the only available slot is now the next day between 12-3pm.
It's now the next day at 3:20pm. No show. Engineer phone line is ringing then disconnecting. No update received from helpline.

As bad as it gets
June 21, 2020

The plumbers took much longer to come than promised. The most annoying part was that in the meantime, Rightio kept calling me to offer deals on service contracts. I responded by telling them to concentrate on getting me a plumber instead of trying to sell me a contract. The plumbers eventually arrived and decided they couldn't mend the broken pipe (a cable guy had drilled through it) because they did not have the correct gauge pipe with them. So I had to spend the night without central heating. They returned next morning with the correct pipe, which they fitted. Now they had to re-install the radiator which they had removed to do the job. They did so, but could not get the central heating to work. Eventually, the young man working on (and failing to get working) the central heating said, "It's doin' me 'ead in" and walked out! So, a second night without heating, with them insisting the job was done and me insisting it wasn't, because they had left me with non-functional central heating which had been functioning perfectly before. They got very threatening and I caved in and authorized payment (£548.40 for replacing a few inches of pipe and disabling my central heating in the process). Next day, I contacted another engineer to get my central heating working and he did so, promptly and effectively. Really, you should steer clear of Rightio.
