Avoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs! We have been begging care club to resolve this complaint for weeks.
I am still not happy that my complaint has been adequately resolved.
I now have damage to my home and personal belongings that contravene several statements on your own website and which I consider a breach in the contract which we have with you in the Care Club membership.
It took 5 weeks to get your company to provide the service that we pay you for monthly. It should have been a half hour job, had you sent someone out who was a drain specialist as promised.
I did give you 7 days to fix the issues, but we are still significantly worse off than if we had just called up a local plumber in the first place. The job should have cost around £40 and would have been completed on the first call out around December the 20th 2024. Instead we went without the issue resolved, and with two further issues until 30th January 2025. I do not consider this peace of mind, you have not protected my home and have not treated my home with the respect and professionalism that you promised. Therefore I do not consider this complaint resolved to my satisfaction. The second man that you sent was very nice, polite, respectful and did meet expectations as promised on your website, but why did I have to wait for 6 weeks for that? I have had so much stress in chasing this complaint and trying to get it resolved, it is shockingly poor customer service.
I now need a joiner to make good the damage in the bathroom, I need to redecorate the kitchen from the water he left dripping through the ceiling, I need to replace my bathroom towel, I went 5 weeks without my bathroom, I had to take two further half days off work, because the engineer you agreed to send up failed to honour this commitment. You are a huge nationwide company who should be able to fix such a small issue, yet it isn't until we post reviews that you even bother to respond to customer complaints. So here I am again, trying to get your attention so my home can be put back to the standard that it was before I let you in.

Rightio sent someone to clear a blocked outside pipe and charged me £720 for the hour's job. An obscene charge.
The last 15 minutes were spent by the guy putting his equipment back in his van, and mostly on the phone outside my house. I was next to the front window and watching him and the time extremely closely, as I knew about the charges - and yet I was charged an additional £152 for this as they claim the time for the job went just over the hour. This is scandalous and have contacted a consumer watchdog about their practices and costs.
Was quoted £168 to fix a toilet ball valve that wouldn't shut off. Plumber turned up, was there for two minutes and said he didn't have the part with him but would check with his supplier and call back. I received no callback, but found the valve myself in the local Screwfix for £7.
I called them back to say I would sort it myself but was told that the £168 call out charge would still apply and now had VAT added taking the charge to over £200!
Absolute cowboys AVOID AVOID AVOID!
Earlier this year I asked Rightio to quote for moving a radiator along a wall which I declined because it was a "Very Exaggerated Quote". They ask for Bank card details before any quote or appointment can be made, and after declining the quote I discovered they had taken £173 from my account without telling me or explaining why beforehand. It took a nightmare of phone calls and threatening legal action before they finally released a refund, over 2 months after taking the money. You have been warned!
At 9.03am I had a useful discussion with the operative in Newcastle. This filled me with confidence - I was sadly misled. The first text I got said that a plumber would be with me between 8am and 12. An immediate call came after this to say it would be between 12 noon and 5pm. A confirmation text followed... then nothing until a call at 16.16 to say that the plumber had been delayed and that Rightio couldn't do anything until Monday. Very Wrongio! Left me with a failed water and heating system. ZERO stars!
Booked engineer to look at broken boiler. He told me it was old(it is) could not get parts and I needed a new one. Gave me a quote, vey expensive. Decided to get more quotes. Later that day a local engineer arrived, told me the boiler just needed topping up with water, he did it, it started immediately. He also said parts were not a problem. Rightio charged over 200 pounds for a 20 min visit, and tried to get me to buy something I do not need.Avoid.
Rightio quoted for replacement Shower Screen, Vanity Unit and Bath Panel for a insurance house claim. My loss adjusters thought it was expensive at £2,274.54 and questioned why the qoute included replacement bath instead of just the bath panel.
Rightio said, they mis-quoted about relacement bath, and meant 'Bath Panel' price still stays the same! Hence, I will never use Rightio for any future plumbing work. - Far Too expensive!
Beware Rightio are a National Company who use local telephone numbers so you can easily be fooled into thinking you are using a local company.
Sadly I called them out.
A Rightio Plumber came to fix our shower after it had been fitted by an inept builder during refurbishment. It ran either scalding hot or cold only. I paid the diagnostic fee and 1st hour of work for which they charged me £150 and on the first visit the Plumber told me we needed a new shower fitment. I did say I was surprised as it was already a relatively new shower. However, reluctantly I agreed that he should change it. We looked online and found the fitment on sale from a local company for £215.17. He said he would get it and come back.
He rang me a few days later and told me he had bought the shower fitment as we discussed but it would cost £337. I told him to take it back and I went to the same store and paid £215.17. Following further phone calls, he came to fit the new shower and left. Later I found we still had the same problem. I called Rightio and he came again. This time he said it was the mixer bar on the new shower? He changed mixer bar on the new shower and left telling me it was fixed.
It still did not work. On the forth, visit, he agreed with my observation that it was probably NOT the shower and after a quick look at the boiler and Pipes, he told me that he could not fix it and that I needed a heating engineer. He left.
I called Rightio yet again an asked for a visit from their Heating Engineer but was told there was not one in our area. Odd as the Customer Services had tried to sell me insurance for our Boiler on the first call.
They informed me to get another company and send them a report.
Reluctantly I did. The new company's Plumber diagnosed and fixed the issue within 20 mins.
The hot and cold pipes were fitted wrong way round!. He charged £83 including the report for Rightio. (Or should I say Right rip off)
After numerous telephone calls and emails I was eventually refunded the initial £150 but am still out of pocket by £215.17 for a shower fitment we did not ever need and they refuse to give a refund for this
My advice is DO NOT USE RIGHTIO. They also featured on Rip Off Britain shortly after my experience with very similar stories.
This company is a scam! They charged my 88 year old mum £164.40 just for a quote. Avoid at all costs!
Pretending to advertise as a local company, the customer service and workmanship were awful. There is also no comeback as they get paid upfront. A simple sealer job in a wet room looked like a child had done it, and still wasn't redone to our satisfaction on the third scheduled appointment time, the first two being no shows.
Rip off! Quoted £115.20 took an unauthorised further payment of £164.40, charged £96 for a tap available from Amazon for£20.99.£279.60 to change a kitchen tap, took about 35 minutes. Never attempted to fix a drip in the bathroom, said they would be back in a couple of days, never returned. Now will no answer the phone. Trading standards and my bank informed also trying to get the advertising stopped, crooks and scammers.
My parents asked for a quote of £140 to fit 4 taps which they already owned. It took them 3 hours to perform a simple job and then they got an invoice for £550. When I contacted customer services they said the quote was for each hour. There was no response as to why it took nearly an hour to fit each tap. The plumber spent at least half his time in the van smoking. I suspect watching YouTube tutorials. This is either a complete rip off or utter incompetence. Avoid this firm at all costs. Note it used to have Which Approved Kitemark. It does not have it, or any others. The number of stories here is shocking and the firm is still trading. Currently taking to the police, bank and trading standards. I hope to protect other vulnerable people from this firms poor and misleading practices.
Phoned what I thought was oral plumber but somehow these scammers came. When I phoned I asked for washer connector under sink simple job, these scammers came without the part and without tools said they would have to come back and it will take two hours
He was told too leave.phoned another Local plumber took 20 mins and charged £70 gave him extra for coming within a hour
I suppose I am one of theucky ones as didn't get hands on my bank details
As I was paying cash
Bit now these conmen are sending debt collection letters for £117 and saying it was for diagnostics how stupid
Want my day in court they threatened me with as I have all your reviews printed out to back me up
I have also reported to trading standers and watch dog
My father called Rightio in order to get his shower door fixed. I don't know what the story was to him about pricing, no doubt some fixed fee malarky. An "engineer" attended. Spent 10 minutes to put the door back on it's runner with little care, covering his poor effort by commenting that 'if it fell off again, it would need a new door". Total cost: £ 188.40 for literally 11 minutes 'labour'. Needless to say, the door did indeed fall off again. It has been fixed again by a friendly neighbour who bothered to find the right nuts to properly hold the door runner wheels in place.
While a fee for attending site is understandable, this outrageous price is an abuse of trust and of vulnerable people. No doubt a large % goes to the Rightio management with a % to the the local workmen they use around the country. Avoid this company like the plague.
I phoned up to see if they did minor jobs as I required a new toilet seat and then just the fitting if it! The old seat had been taken off by my grandson but I brought the wrong toilet seat (costly mistake on my part). I was told it would be £148 an hour and I thought that they said that included a new toilet seat. When the engineer came he knew nothing about the toilet seat! He thought we had s leaky toilet! He had to get me a toilet seat and then I found out that I had to pay for it, so I decided to get a better quality one that cost approximately £75.00 that went in my bill. My bill went from £148 to £245. I would definitely not be using this company again. Think twice, oh yes, the £148 is their hourly rate too! The plumber did do a quick job though and he was very pleasant, a lot if money for a very small job, I feel cheated!
Got the job done quick, pleasant Gentleman an didn't make me feel uncomfortable in my own home like a lot of them do.
Would definitely recommend.
When your electrician came round last Friday I was told he would come between 8 am and 12 midday. After phoning them to find out what was going on he eventually arrived at 13.45. Once he came it turned out that the job was much simpler than I thought it would be installing a light tube as opposed rewiring and reconnecting my electricity. Despite the fact that I already had a new light tube and the job only taking arround five minutes my bill amounted to no less than £153.24. An unreasonable amount to pay for such a small job. I will not be using Rightio again and will certainly not be a member of your care club
We booked an engineer for gas certificate, pipework was incorrect £463 pound later, the gas guy who on the thursday said he would need to do the work before issuing a certificate left on the following tuesday without giving us a gas certificate or invoice. And now they want to charge another £95 per hour + vat for the gas certificate... robbing gits and liars to boot.going to report to business ombudsman and trading standards. So they are asking for more money to check their own work... ummmmmm
TOTAL COWBOY CON ARTISTS BEWARE!
These fraudsters attended my parents house on 26th September and charged £220 for a small bathroom leak. This was early evening so an "out of hours" call but still extortionate given all they did was rip a couple of tiles off to expose a pipe that needed replacement.
The following day they attended during normal working hours and charge a disgusting £305 per hour to fit the new water pipe. Total bill for that day was £420! So well overall £600 for an extremely straightforward job.
I queried the bills with customer service who are equally as useless as they have asked my parents for proof of what has been taken out of their account knowing full well what they had charged. This is because Rightio take bank card details when customers first make contact and then actually take the money automatically without customer consent. Despite emails and telephone calls from both myself and my parents they have still not responded and any contact has been with a different person each time.
This organisation should be investigated by the appropriate parties as their business practices fall well below any level of standards or fair charging policies. I am currently in discussions with Trading Standards who are very interested having received a number of other complaints.
Please DO NOT USE THEM unless you want to get totally and utterly ripped off!
Expensive service and they dont inform you about the amount that you will be charged for additional costs.
We were charged £90 for a toilet valve without being informed or agreeing to the amount.
They take your card details upon booking the appointment, so there is no way of getting your money back.
We look after your home or business plumbing, heating, drainage, electrics and locks. For peace of mind, call Rightio today for a fast response.
