Customer service is a runaround. The website is a scam. You make a mistake and they will not help correct it and will keep your money!
Once they have your credit card number, you loose site of the total and info you entered so you can't really know how much is going to be charged.
They pretend to help but keep up the runaround game. I went along with their suggestions and just kept getting more excuses or another step towards refund that's impossible to do now that I'm not in that city. Like getting a signature from the hotel manager stating that we did deserve a refund.
You will be surprised at the total charged on your credit card!
If you use a debit card you could be deleting your account and you know what happens then!
DO NOT GO BY THEIR OWN REVIEWS ON THEIR WEBSITE! THEY ONLY SHOW POSITIVE REVIEWS!
Truth is over 2000 reviews, less than 2% positive! 98% negative!
I recorded conversation approving for Mariposa Inn rep came back said they were booked charged a non approval for Park avenue Inn told her refund my money going bull crap getting my refund with my recording for something l didn't give permission happened 4-6-2022 they ask for proof l gave it just refund my $469.11 this is fraud
The Marriotte website showed $148 on their website. I ended up paying $300.48 with this thieving company's hidden fees. Leave this site now. You have been warned.
I booked a reservation and then cancelled less than 24h later. I received a cancellation email from the hotel and now Reservations.com refuses to give me a refund saying I agreed to "special rules". I asked to speak to a supervisor and Rex Employee ID ******* refused to provide me his supervisors name or phone number. This place is a scam!
I just booked with this website because I was redirected to it when searching for rooms on the hotel website. I thought the prices looked really good so I booked it but I did not realize prices were in USD (I live in Canada.) USD is mentioned on the very BOTTOM of their site where people will quite often miss it. I know that is my fault but they shouldn't keep it so hidden. Also, not to mention all the hidden fees and how they are non refundable! I wish I did more research before booking but I will now know for the future.
If I could give them no stars I would! We had used them to book a room at the Menger Hotel in San Antonio for a concert. The concert was cancelled and I provided proof of the cancellation to them. They said that I had to call the Menger Directly and cancel, so I did. The Menger said that because I used a 3rd party booking agency, that the agency would have to cancel directly. So I called back Reservations.com 3 times and they told me they would call the hotel and cancel. Then they rejected my claim saying that they didn't have any record of my request, even though I sent them the emails of correspondence we'd been having. They said that the Menger Hotel does not refund cancellations. When I spoke with the Manager at the Menger Hotel, he stated that that is not true. I have his response in an email also, which I forwarded to Reservations.com Please do not use this company to book reservations for you! Book with another company, better yet, book directly with the hotel!
I travel often for my work so I am too familiar with hotels. Last week I drove 7 hours to work at a Naval Base the next morning. About an hour left in my drive I stopped for fuel and booked a room online. I knew I would be staying at least 7 days. I booked through reservations.com, it was a good rate at a decent hotel. The next morning I went on base and was told I cannot have access to the machine I was sent to work on. Not the 1st Gov't mix up. I went back to my hotel, while in the parking lot about 9:30 am I called reservation.com after a few people and a broken english conversations, I was told its the hotels discretion to refund any of the remaining nights. How can that be when they buy hotel rooms and resell them online?
I checked out and drove 7 hours home. I tried another phone call. Nothing. Then I sent an email to customer support. Within 3 minutes I recieved a very corporate response saying they reached out to the hotel on my behalf but could not get me a refund.

To me
Dear Ray,
Thank you for contacting Reservations.com
In an effort tried to secure a waiver on your behalf we have reached out to
The Hotel and requested a one-time courtesy cancel to waive the penalties
Associated with your booking. Unfortunately, the hotels have denied the
Request and will not be extending a courtesy cancel.
Please accept our sincere apologies, we know this may not be the preferred
Outcome, however it is out of our control, and we are obligated to abide by
The hotel-imposed penalties.
Sincerely,
Bryan

The worst service I have had in my life. I needed to change my reservation 21 day prior to my check in and they would not change or refund any of it! Do NOT EVER USE THEM!
Booked 4 rooms, when I called the day of my flight to Vegas to make a change. I was told I only have 2 confirmed rooms. I argued with the gal for 20 minutes and told her I have the credit card charge to confirm, but the reservation did not show up in their system. I then hung up and called the Golden Nugget and they confirmed there was only two rooms not four. I had to scramble and book two more rooms at a substantially higher price. I then show up at the hotel and now I have 6 rooms, my reservation now magically appears. I called customer service and get the 20 minute hold, back on with customer service, then on hold again for another 20 minutes. Total scam!
I only called to check if there were rooms a available at the hotel I wanted to make a reservation with. The representative decided to help with the booking and even asked for the 3 digit number at the back of the credit card. The money was instantly taken. The agent did not disclose the service fees and other charges related to the booking. The booking is made months in advance and the agent said that incase of cancellation all money will be returned back. I decided to download the hotel app and found the rate much cheaper. Hence I cancelled the booking and requested for the refund. When I got my credit card statement I found the hotel booking refunded but not the service fee. As a rule disclosures must be revealed to the customers before making the booking. And in this case nothing was said. After calling several times the money is still not being returned. With my experience it is much better to download the app and self serve rather than calling reservations.com and getting duped. Thank you
I made a reservation for a Mariott hotel today, thinking I was on Mariott's site. Nope. On reservations.com site. I was not informed that the reservation was not cancellable until after I made it - they did a bait and switch so the price was much higher than the advertised price. Called customer service - no refund under any circumstances - even if I had Covid.
Be wary when clicking. Be sure which site you are really on. Stay the hell off this one, they are jerks.
Also, they charge you $19.99 for the privilege of being ripped off by them.
This company charged $204 ( including all fess), for our reservation, found there was a non-refunable $!(<(( service fee not listed, I called the front dest@ hotel & found out that had I called the hotel frount desk, we could have booked the room for $155 including all fees. Reservations, com charged almost $50,00 more with much more restrictive cancelation & changing charges, that Radisson did not have. The customer service would only refund the &19,99. The original charge was $224,99. We will never use again, reservation # was: R*******238(did not know how to do screen pront for proof.
Do not ever use this service. I thought I was linked to my chosen hotel website and would have never used this website for making a reservation. No refunds and money is taken from account when reservation is made. Horrible and dishonest business. Would not recommend! Would give minus 5 stars if available as a choice.
I reserved a room at a hotel in England. I thought I was booking direct, but apparently it was through reservations.com. I had to cancel the reservation and did so (I thought) by email to the hotel, but the cancellation was never confirmed. Then I noticed a charge on my credit card for the hotel plus a "service fee" (?) of $19.99. So, if I hadn't followed up on the credit card charges and contacted reservations.com, I'd be out the hotel fee, plus I was still charged the $19.99. Lesson: always book direct thru a hotel.
I made a reservation through reservations.com for a hotel room. The charge was supposed to be $89 but the charged $138.00 to my credit card. I called for a refund 4 times and was told there was no refund. I called the hotel and was told reservations.com paid them $75 for my reservation and they charged me $138.00. They are scammers! Do not make reservations with them!
Had rooms booked for three nights, got billed $554.67 plus BS $19.99 service charge when rooms booked, billed automatically on credit card. Cancelled a room for first night due to highway closed due to snowstorm, when we arrived at hotel next day my other nights two rooms had been cancelled since we didn't show for first night despite room being prepaid. So had to pay again, now fighting tooth and nail with Reservations.com to get reimbursed, customer service very rude, can't understand english, understand whatever lanquage
I unknowingly used reservations.com to book a hotel in Fort McMurray Alberta, Canada March 2022. The site represented itself as I was booking as directly with hotel. It was not. In addition it charged me in USD for Canadian hotel Without clarifying (charged 35% above market price). In addition to charging me they never sent confirmation email. In addition after my stay they continued to charge my credit card $25 for unknown reasons. I left my room early, but there was no number or method to get a refund. Total scam website, should have google warnings... I hope to report to police.
Went on hotel website and was directed to reservations.com not knowing I was on a third party. When I got confirmation, I realized the date was wrong. Call them back and requested a change. Was told it was non-refundable. Explained I did not request a refund but a date change. Was told I had to call the hotel. When I called the hotel, was told they needed an email from reservations.com to confirm my request. Then reservations.com needed they could not email the hotel. They are SO dishonest. Can not believe they are still in business.
In February and I had the misfortune of stumbling across reservations.com and made a reservation for what I thought was a month out from the booking date. Somehow the calendar reset and I accidentally made the date for the booking date instead of one month out.
I had previewed their cancellation policy and saw a $19.99 fee—Which in its location under cancellations made me believe this was a nonrefundable fee for modifications and cancellations. Upon calling customer service to tell them of my error in my booking dates… I was informed there were no changes… And no cancellations. Even though my booking had only taken place a couple hours before.
I was billed $1083. Nonrefundable. I disputed with Capital One my credit card company… They immediately took the charge off but I found out today that it was reinstated because the company responded. I was told I could escalate my dispute which I am. In the process of reading through the documentation reservations.com submitted to capital One I see they have changed their name two times since my February booking one month ago. They are using the names "getaroom.com" as well as "roomvalues.com"—
They are a slippery, shady fish.
Today I also filed a dispute with the Better Business Bureau in hopes that this company might be stopped in their fraudulent and deceptive tactics.
I can't help wonder if their booking calendar Refreshes to current booking date for the sole purpose of creating an error that cannot be corrected.
I feel the search engines and hotels that host/use these fraudulent companies should also be held accountable. With as many complaints on sitejabber.com
You would think the search engines would take notice of this and stop giving them a platform to rip off people.
NEVER EVER EVER USE THIS SITE IT IS A COMPLETE AND UTTER SHAM! YOU WILL GET OVER CHARGED AND THEY WONT EVER CANCEL A ROOM. I WOULD LIKE TO OPEN UP A LAW SUIT

Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
