I am beyond happy that I booked through Reservations.com for my vacation. It was easy but most importantly it was secure. I know online transactions are so common but I don't usually buy into this stuff. Tried this for the first time and I'm glad it was legit.
I spent over 4 hours on the phone disputing all of the charges (25.00 penalty charge, one night stay, and 14.99 booking fee). So far I received the 25.00 penalty charge and 14.99 booking fee. I'm expecting the remainder within 7 to 10 business days (though I submitted a dispute through my credit card company). I'm still hoping to receive the funds. I will keep you posted. On the call, I did ask whether I should seek legal counsel since I was never informed of penalty charges and booking fee.
Thought I was booking my reservation on a Canadian site but found out charges were in U S funds (201.84 which is 268.35 Canadian on my Canadian Master Card). I called twenty minutes later to book this room on my Visa U S dollar card. They said that if I were to book this room on my Visa U S dollar card they would cancel the charges to my Master card (Canadian funds). This did not happen. After five calls to their customer service I was never able to talk to a supervisor. Bottom line this company has scammed me out of $365.41 U S which is $478.51 Canadian for a $185.00 Cdn room at the Renaissance Airport Hotel Edmonton. As your president would tweet - SAD.
reservations.com incorrectly reserved a room in the wrong hotel in the wrong city in the wrong state. I immediately called to cancel the incorrect reservation, but was rudely told that www.reservations.com would not change it.
These foreign scam artist charged us double the price of what the room actually booked for. The girl at check in accidentally charged us again for the room, that's how we found out this scam sight charged us double of what the room really booked for. The Hotel refunded us our money back, but Reservations.com (SCAM.COM) wished not to discuss with us why they charged us double, when their site says 60% discount.
Website showed we were booking for La Quinta, and then they switched our room to Quality Inn once we received the receipt. We ended up paying an additional $25 pet fee even after we had called Reservations.com and confirmed that we wouldn't be charged the fee. Complete scam. Company refuses to refund our $25.
Absolutely the worst service I've ever received. I am literally appalled by the behavior that I encountered by their customer service. I called them while trying to help my colleagues rearrange their upcoming hotel bookings through reservations.com. Their agents hung up on me twice while I tried to resolve some issues, one of them was supposedly a supervisor, and one of the issues was a mistake made by their own agent. The "supervisor" told me that it was impossible for an agent to make a mistake in the booking that I made over the phone. What? Since when is it impossible for someone to make a mistake? Our company will never use this site again.
The amounts billed on my credit card after making a reservation are much higher than what was shown during the transaction and in my receipt. Prices which should have been in canadian dollars were charged in USD, which means the amount billed is much higher than it should. Additionally, the service fee was charged twice, both in the total and separately.
Customer service were unable to provide a solution over phone, and don't seem to have access to the necessary information to help in any way. I highly suggest you avoid this compagny.
I made a reservation with this company and realized they did not apply the discount that was offered to conference attendees at the hotel that they told me I would get. When I called back to ask why they said they could not apply the discount and were going to charge me $35 to cancel, 5 minutes after making the reservation. They proceeded to put me on hold for 30 minutes before hanging up on me. Never again.
Without knowing I was booking through Reservations.com, I booked a reservation at a Hilton. Both Hilton and Reservations.com charged ($400/night) for the same stay. When I called Reservations.com to get a refund, customer service said they would investigate my claim and refund within 7-10 days. It has now been many weeks. When I called again to complain, customer service said they would investigate, and would let me know the status within 7-10 days. Customer service is terrible - I provided documentation that I had been double-billed, but they have clearly been told to hold onto the money.
This site was linked directly to Super 8's website in Bedford, VA. I assumed it was Wyndham's reservation site. IT IS NOT. They made a mistake on my reservation. By the time I found out about it, it was too late to do anything... no cancellation... No changes allowed... Nothing. I'm sure that the woman that screwed up my reservation told me about it. She rambled a bunch of, what I am assuming is the standard shpiel. She had such a heavy indian accent, I didn't understand. Anyway, I ended up contacting the hotel directly after I realized that they made my reservation for 2 nights instead of 3 & making a reservation for the 3rd night, myself. It appears that a non-refundable service fee is charged for, what amounts to the shaft.
Booked a hotel with them. They told me no penalties to cancel before a certain date. Called the hotel direct and got a cheaper price. Cancelled with reservations.com and I'm out $70. It's a fraud do not book through them!
Whether I missed it in conversation or in writing, I was disappointed to have a $19.99 service charge added to the cost of my reservation through reservations.com. Or perhaps I didn't miss it -- perhaps reservations.com keeps it a secret until the customer receives a billing. And their customer services representative was quite abrupt and rude when I called to inquire about the additional cost.
Like many other reviews, I did not know I was on this website. Talked to the hotel and they told me this organization is very sneaky how they do it. I made a reservation for three rooms for three nights under three reservation names. They pre-charged me $1467. I cancelled due to business within the cancellation window (3 days prior). After a week of no contact from them, I called back about the refund. They said they would charge one reservation one night's rate, and the other two the full amount, despite me canceling within the prescribed time. So, they charged me $1130. Then to cap it off, they lied to me saying the hotel was the one that required these charges. I talked to the hotel again and they said they didn't charge anything. Stay far, far away. Reservations.com is nothing but a scam!
I was actually on the hotel website when the room I wanted was "unavailable". I was presented an 800 number for "reservations" and found myself speaking to a rep on reservations.com. The rep did not identify themselves as a third party. There was never a mention of the $14.99 booking fee. This is crap, but clearly I will have to pay closer attention in the future.
We wanted to cancelled the first night of our reservation and we were charge $150 MORE than the fee for the actual room that one night! (The charge for the room plus an additional $150!) We only had one day after we made the reservation to cancel without being charged and we were past the one day. We thought we were reserving rooms through the hotel directly. It shows up under false premises. This company's policy is despicable and it's unfortunate that it pops up online so quickly. This was a very bad experience and an expensive one!
Ms. Greil
When you think you are calling the hotel number, you're not. Reservation. Com does not identify themselves and you think you are talking to the motel. They overcharged me $103.95 and I have called 6 times to straighten this out. Believe it or not they keep hanging up on me. I'm trying to figure out what my next move is. BBB, Attorney General or a lawyer. They suck, because you don't even know you are talking to them.
We also were charged almost double in taxes. When we complained, the representative said this was the first case of over charged taxes he had ever seen... I feel lucky I'm one in a million. We were also deceived by the representative stating that this was the cheapest rate that was available anywhere and everywhere and our information was stored and ready to go so no need to look any further. They also didn't disclose the $14.99 service fee. I'd be happy to join the list of complaints. This directly affects the hotels they represent. I also suggest calling the hotels to complain... you'll get further with them and maybe they will listen. With enough complaints, the hotels will take a stand.
This website mislead me that I thought I was booking directly from hotel, didn't mention about hidden fee(US$20), and also didn't clear about CND$ or USD $. Result I lost $40 dollars after cancelled booking.
Expedia, booking, or reservation. Com all the same compay. Do not use
We reserved a suite with king bed-all we got was the king bed. We requested (online and directly with the hotel) to have 4 rooms on the same floor. When we got there they denied getting the info was proven wrong because we wrote everything down when we made the request. We were then put on 3 different floors. We will never stay here again. The maids don't speak any english and we didn't get our room cleaned until after 3pm. It was disgusting and so were the people behind the front desk.
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!

Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
