Scammer company
October 30, 2019

This company posed as Residence Inn. I was supposed to get a medical rate at the hotel in Skokie, Illinois, but they added a fee and took away my discount. They spoke so fast like a
Shell game to confuse you. When I called the actual hotel to check on my reservation, Residence Inn informed me that a third party company had taken my reservation When I called to pretend to book another reservation, it became clear The booking clerk didn't know what I was asking for. They thought I wanted a discount for a block of rooms, and I had no idea that was even a thing. I had never heard of nor known about Reservations.com was until this incident. Reservations.com won't give me the rate I asked for and was told I would get from the medical center for our medical visit. RC won't refund my money, even though they could see I was confused and was really asking for something else.

Miserable company. The date selector is so poorly designed I pick a date 24 hours too soon. I realized it when the 'confirmation' pop-up. I called them literally within a minute to get it fixed as was basically told sorry thanks for your $600 we cant and wont help you. I got steered here and thought I was booking with the Hotel Jerome in Aspen. I will say the Jerome was kind and professional and 'fixed' the reservation for a small upcharge (the cut Reservations.com took) which I thought was totally fair. I will no longer book thru third parties like this.

I purchased a hotel reservation from Reservations.com in error thinking it was the hotel's website. While I accept my poor judgment in this case, I write this review in hopes others will steer clear of this company. I came upon their site in The website opened when I clicked on what I thought was the hotel's website. Even better (sarcasm here), they also offered a non-refundable reservation. Like a fly on a sticky trap, I was stuck with an exorbitant fee. While the advertised rate was $166.00. After the added taxes and fees, the actual rate was an exorbitant $234.69. Had it not been a long day after which I made this reservation, I hope I would have caught this scam. I write this review in hopes others do not get caught in their trap. Stay clear of Reservations.com! You will pay more than what the hotel was charging!

Found what I thought was a good deal on a hotel, but when I tried to pay it wouldnt go through and said my card was declined. Tried over and over again 3 more times only to find two days later they charged me for each time anyway at $200 each. Would rate Negative 5 if i could.

Hotel booked was closed due pandemic yet my request for fee waiver was denied. Also required multiple calls over multiple days to get through to get commitment to credit my credit card (still not credited). Unable to get this done on line. Also they should have done this without any request/hassle on my part. Why do I feel like I'm wasting my time posting?

Charges
July 26, 2020

Reservation.com charged for a six night stay a week before arrival. When checking in the hotel I was given a different room and the cost was $250 less than what was charged to my card. I contacted reservations.com when I returned and they offered no assistance. They explained it was out of their control. I would have $250 more in my bank account today if I had booked directly through the hotel.

CONSUMER BEWARE
February 20, 2018

This is a VERY unscrupulous company that hacks and mask legitimate hotel websites so it appears that you are booking directly with the hotel and you are not. If any changes need to be made you find out then it was booked through a third party website and your cc has already been charged, it is non refundable and no changes can be made. I agree with other reviews they are Crooks and Liars and overall Awful!

So upset, I googled Coast Bastion hotel in Nanaimo which is in Canada, I am Canadian and thought I was booking directly with the hotel. They have charged me in U.S. Dollars! It was listed in Canadian! When I called to complain they said... sorry, if you look on our website you will see its American dollars. Please don't use this website! So upset.

Customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. I was polite and tried to understand why they would not give a refund for a cancelled reservation - from the actual hotel, as they requested I obtain. The second time I called, the CSR was rude and when I asked to speak with his manager, he argued with me! Then cut me off! I called a third time with no resolution. My next call was to my credit card company and I have opened a disputed claim against them.

The website says I can cancel online, but it isn't possible to cancel online. The link to Cancel Your Reservations takes you to a page that only lets you get a copy of your reservation. There is no option to actually cancel. Also, it was almost impossible to understand the customer service rep because of her accent and limited English skills. Don't use Reservations.com!

Ripoff
May 10, 2022

I tried to use the recommended reservation site for a hotel in France, was directed to Reservations.com. They charged me about $250 for a room, when the base price before taxes and fees was less than $150. Rex at their customer service number in Orlando could not explain this, except to say that the fees exist, and could not provide a detailed breakdown, except for their $19.99 nonrefundable fee, which was buried somewhere in the payment panel. I swallowed the $20 and told poor Rex politely that they would never get another dime from me. I then went to another site and booked the room for $178 TOTAL. So even with their $20 fee I came out ahead, and with a valuable lesson as we continue to book our France trip. Safe travels, everyone!

Reservations.com is a scam. They exist solely to add a BS "service fee" (the "service" is charging more than the hotel would directly, AND making it non-refundable, and non-cancelable). That's it. I'm sorry all of you who work there couldn't find better jobs.

My wife called to inquire about a hotel booking, was asked for her CC info and then to hold for a 'confirmation number'... woman came back on the line to say the last room had just been booked and, as such, there was no Confirmation number because there was no reservation. Then a few minutes later our Chase alerts showed a charge on our card. We called reservations.com back and they claim to have NO RECORD of my wife's call, not her phone number or email... of course they wanted the 'confirmation number' but, because of the issue with a sold out hotel, they then said since there's no confirmation number they are unable to help us...

Called Chase and their dispute department... once the pending charge settles then we can call and place a formal complaint so they can then pursue this as a fraud case...

Terrible room
June 30, 2016

For some reason you gave me a "handicapped" room practically at the front door. Shower small and not so great, and living room, where I tried to sleep on soda bed, was the worst. Coils practically springing out. And it was a single. I also booked a room for my son and his wife and cold. Same price. But big and much nicer. So you see my problem I hope.

What a SCAM!
January 26, 2018

I went to book through what I thought was the actual hotel... same logos, pictures, etc. Instead, it was reservations.com! Not only did they charge their OWN booking fee of $14.99, they charged additional fees in excess of $50! Then they charged my credit card FULL PRICE for the hotel, that I was reserving months in advance! I cancelled my booking immediately and called their customer service, which is sorely lacking. I was asked if I had booked online, which I had, and the rep laughed and said Oh, so you didnt see our fine print saying that we charge full price up front! So, within 10 minutes, they charged my credit card, but cant refund me for 10-15 days... up to 30 days! And, they keep the $14.99 for MY trouble! What a complete SCAM! Even if they keep my $14.99, its STILL cheaper to book directly through the hotel! Im so upset that this type of thing can happen!

Scam
May 12, 2017

Booked a hotel room on what looked like a Hampton Inn website. Checked in at the hotel and was told I had booked through reservations.com. Week later a charge for $14.99 shows up on the credit card. Plan on fighting the charge. If you can't make a dollar by providing a legitimate service and you have to do it by deceit then you are a scammer.

Not just great pics
November 8, 2018

Reservations.com has great pictures of hotels, like any booking site. But they also provide customer reviews of these hotels so you don't get fooled into booking a "nice looking" hotel in pictures only.

On 11/30/2017 I wrote that Reservations.com scammed me like many others that have written a review. PLEASE NOTE... I continued to followed up with "Reservations.com" and after many emails they decided to do the right thing and refund my money. Persistence Pays. Now I am looking for the credit on my statement.
Again... I have been calling direct to the motels and been getting a better price. Always check online first, then make the call and use the best pricing you found online... and offer a little less. Better pricing... and refundable should you need to change your plans. Good luck.

Scam
June 28, 2017

I made my reservation under what I thought was the hotel website. I was given a price and then my receipt had an additional charge. I tried to cancel but they would not refund the additional charge... I don't know how people that work for a company like this can sleep at night. I will never make this mistake again and neither will anyone I know

Scammers
November 25, 2022

Hopefully it will serve more people, they should not book with these people, at first, very friendly, once they took the money from you and by the way an excessive charge for the rooms, they will never admit that they scammed us, if someone wants to sue them, let's do a group, the more strength we can, I don't know if we can recover what is ours but if they take these scammers out of the market
