I thought I was dealing directly with the Hotel I wanted to book - it even had hotel logo on web page. I booked, and thought I would not be paying for the hotel until I checked in, I understood I could cancel free of charge up to a certain date. (I was booking this hotel about a month in advance.) I cancelled the hotel two days after booking as my appointment in the city was cancelled.
I looked at my credit card statement and saw my card was charged the $14.99(USD)(which I now see was the cost of doing a booking). Two days later another bill for $300.14 USD. I live in Canada, booked a Canadian hotel - rate was quoted in Canadian dollars, Reservations.com had converted rates to US - then converted back to Canadian dollar and I was being charged about 30% more for a reservation which I had cancelled.
I called the hotel, they had no record of the reservation and no payment from Reservation.com. IT IS NOW 10 DAYS SINCE I DID THIS - AND MY CREDIT CARD HAS NEVER BEEN REFUNDED.
BEWARE OF "RESERVATIONS.COM" IT IS A SCAM!
I called and set up my reservation for a weekend to visit our daughter. Arrived at the hotel at 7:30pm tried to check in and found I had no room. The hotel was booked. When I called reservation.com their response was so you didn't get charged for the room and hung up on me. Called 2 times without any satisfaction. Apparently onc they book you, your on your own. Stay away from Reservation.com
I was looking for a hotel, I clicked on this site, to see availability... I did not reserve a room thru them nor did I book a reservation. But I was charged on my credit card $14.99 for a reservation, then $93.67 for a room somewhere that I never got or stayed in. I am working with my credit card company now to try and get charges removed.
THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM... DO NOT CLICK ON THEM OR YOU WILL BE CHARGED!
They paid google a lot to get to the top of a hotel search session, direct me to a web page that looks like the hotel website, never review itself during the reservation process, advertised a rate of $278 for the room and when I submitted, additional charge of about $120 showed up without any warning whatsoever. Plus, they never sent me a confirmation email even if repeated request through their website. Called them next day, after 15 minutes, finally talked to a person who simply said that their system is down, called back later. But the website was functioning because when I could still pull out a reservation information page after putting in my travel details. Called the hotel directly, couldn't find the reservation under my name, and so I cancelled my reservation using the scambag's website, but it said the charges are non-refundable but cancellable, WTF!
Google search had name of the (actual hotel), reservations.com. Operator led me to believe it was the actual hotel. She did not correct me when I asked her. When I called to cancel the day before the reservation, I called the local number to the hotel and they informed me I booked it through a third party, but they did not show which one. I luckily found my mistake and successfully obtained a refund. Sleazy way to do business.
I am a very seasoned traveller and have never encountered the likes of this! I found 2 charges for $14.99 on my credit card. I phoned an 800 number to see if I could find out what company I had booked with who stuck in this charge. When I book a car, flight, hotel, the charges are always in the grand total! These people are like thieves that sneak in your reservation and rob you. My booking never sent me an email so I don't know which site to blame. I book so many hotels it never occured to chck for hidden fees. Never again will I use a site that is affiliated with these crooks.
I would not use this site and don't recommend it to anyone. I was told so much about the hotel we were going to stay at for example I was told that they had a hot tub, and I would have a room over looking the pool. No hot tub and I had asked the guy 4 times to make sure that there was one, and our room over looking the pool turned into a view over looking the parking lot! Plus I was told he would put in a request for a beach front view if possible, not possible since it was a hotel across the street and the only view that way was a view of the backside of another hotel. I did complain twice to them and they finally gave me back 10% off the bill, but that is yet to be seen. I will be back in touch with them again if this does not happen! Overall, I would never recommend this site to anyone ever!
I went through Res.com and they quoted me a room rate of 182 a night. By calling the motel direct I was able to get the same room for 159 a night. Even worse the pretend to be the front desk. They are crooks and avoid them anytime you can.
I went to the Delta Chelsea Hotel website and was somehow rerouted to Reservations.com to complete my reservation which I didn't realize until after I completed the booking. Then there's a message that my reservation in non-refundable. I've never heard of that in my 49 years. We booked this hotel to go to Toronto to see a concert which was, months later, cancelled due to lead singer's illness. I called Reservations.com to cancel and try to get a refund due to the circumstances. I was speaking to someone from a foreign country and all I could understand during the conversation was that I could cancel the reservation but I would under no circumstances receive any kind of refund. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS WEBSITE AND BE CAREFUL, because they claim to be an extension of Expedia so you may want to check when you book, that it doesn't re-route you to this website without you realizing it, like I did. THEY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN and I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. DON'T LET THEM TAKE YOUR MONEY.
When I looked at my credit card statement online, I discovered that I got charged $14.95 for booking. I had no idea that I wasn't dealing with the hotel when I made my reservation. I also found no information indicating that there would be a charge. I have read the Terms and Service and Policy sections. I didn't even get a confirmation from these people and had to call them to get it and the confirmation number. A while later when I called the hotel directly to ask a question, they didn't even have a reservation for us. Learning this I figured there was something wrong and I immediately used the confirmation number "reservations.com" gave me and cancelled. I don't know if they are real or scammers but I certainly don't want to do business with a company that isn't transparent in their charges and fees.
I too was mislead by this website into thinking I was booking directly with the hotel. Luckily my credit card company caught the error realizing it was US booking company. I cancelled my reservation within 5 minutes of making it but they have still charged me 30 bucks cancellation fee. Never use this site, try Booking.com instead, they are excellent.
I thought I was talking directly to a hotel. But I was with reservations.com. When I arrived at the hotel, I signed a invoice for $81.00. Reservations.com charged me $127.00. I do not understand how they can charge so much more. If I stayed one more night, the hotel would have charged me $81.00. I find it very difficult to understand why this company has not been checked by state agencies that protect consumers.
So upset, I googled Coast Bastion hotel in Nanaimo which is in Canada, I am Canadian and thought I was booking directly with the hotel. They have charged me in U.S. Dollars! It was listed in Canadian! When I called to complain they said... sorry, if you look on our website you will see its American dollars. Please don't use this website! So upset.
My wife typed into Google "Sandman Signature Hotel" in Richmond to book a Canadian hotel directly and in hind site we now see she was sent to SandmanSignature.reservations.com. At the time she assumed she was dealing with Sandman Signature directly. She was charged approx $130 US for the room that was listed at $130 Can on other sites. She was charged US currency on her Canadian card plus a $14.99 US reservation fee. I have booked hundreds of rooms over the years and rarely seen an scam so cleverly scripted. This should be criminal!
We booked a hotel in Portland OR and where charged for a hotel in Argentina.
When we called, they said it is a non refundable.
Internet scam and I am surprised they are still in business.
Do not use reservations.com for any of your bookings EVER!
This company falsely represented themselves as the Hotel - confirmed my booking - then sent me a confirmation in USFUNDS. When I complained, they charged me a 14.99 US funds fee to cancel.
This is a Canadian Hotel chain, booked in Canada, from Canada. They blamed me for not asking if it was in USFunds -
Horrible customer service - all they say is "I'm sorry - company policy"
After spending half an hour with my credit card company in fear of a fraudulent charge, I realized after reading other reviews that reservations.com had sneakily tacked on a $14.99 surcharge to an online hotel reservation I had made. There was no indication that this charge would be applied, and I not only paid more for the reservation than if I had phoned direct, I paid this hidden charge on top of it. And their customer service was horrible. I am really angry at Trip advisor too for letting such dirty businesses operate through them.
Do not make any reservation in this company, hidden fee and charge at no reason, even cancel still charge your money, please do not make reservation at this site.
I am not impressed at all by this Company. They are not upfront about the service fees. They get you hooked by advertising a lower price for the room, but don't indicate the total service fees until your card has been charges. When I called Customer service they just said that it is listed in the terms... yah like everyone reads every single sites terms... of course they know that and it is shady of them to do it this way. I told them I will never use them again and that they need to be upfront like Travelocity and other sites are.
I will NEVER use Reservations.com due to their "Service Fees" and customer service. Their final price was $14 higher, even though the room rate was cheaper. When I called I struggled to understand with her accent, and was not pleased with their customer service. Never again!
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!

Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
