Car rental agencies in Tijuana, Mexico will not honor the price paid for booking on this website. We tried to pick up the car that we had reserved at Firefly Rentals and when we declined the insurance (which was more than what we were paying for the rental) all of a sudden there was no car to give us, not for many days, BUT they could give us a much larger and more expensive vehicle... plus more insurance of course (we are already insured 2 other different ways). Tried to book on this site with another company and when we showed them the price we will pay if we book with this website... Oops! No rentals available, only larger more expensive vehicles. After a local lady called a friend at the rental agency, then there was suddenly MANY cars available (they are, after all, a car rental agency!) No mention was made of any insurance required but we paid about 4 times what we would have if ANYONE would have accepted the booking from this website. Don't waste your time and then have to fight to get your money back.
I have rented a car in Turkey in August-September 2018 via rentalcars.com and I cannot express how terrible service I had.
The rental car company gave me a car with empty tank; we had to air up tires in the middle of our trip; they charged me extra for cleaning the car; and they've never returned my deposit. And more importantly, RENTALCARS.COM DID NOTHING ABOUT IT although I sought help multiple times. They did not help me at all. It's been a year and no solution was provided and I still didn't get my deposit back. Plus, it turns out I am charged $40 recently (a year after the booking) for a toll fee.

They only allow you to email them via generated email system, which they don't keep a track. Each email, you have to include literally every information, including but not limited to order confirmation number, problem, what was communicated with the rental car company and what was communicated with the rentalcars.com, and all you get as a response is a generated email which includes their policies which you can find on their website.
I got my lesson from this experience and I felt obligated to warn everyone.
I will never ever book via rentalcars.com again.
Expedia, Orbitz, and similar ones are better because they support you when you encounter a problem with a service provider that you've booked through their website. They take customer satisfaction serious and take responsibility to help you have a pleasant experience.

I wish there were a zero star option. Long story short, rental car desk closed when our flight was delayed. Had to rent from another counter that was open at a much higher rate. Customer service is non existent. Wanted to offer a voucher, not a chance I will use this company again.

My experience with rentalcars.com was truly disastrous, I even feel deceived since they did not honour their promise for compensation. My story: I rented a car through rentalcars.com with Budget Car Rental at Tbilisi airport. All rental counters were open when I reported at the agreed date and time, except for Budget. After waiting for a while, I called the airport office, no answer. I called the Budget city office, no answer (it was Friday morning around 09:30). I decided to call the UK number of rentalcars.com. They also checked and found out that Budget could not be reached. Rentalcars.com recommended me to hire a car directly with another rental company. When I complained that this would be much more expensive, rentalcars.com said that I would be compensated for the difference. I did mention that I felt it is their responsibility to arrange a new rental car for me. They confirmed this but said that making a new reservation and waiting for the confirmation would take much longer. Since time was not on my side, I rented a car with another rental company which was indeed roughly 100 euros more expensive. I felt fully supported by rentalcars.com promise for compensation.
Rentalcars.com's promise turned out to be completely hollow. Through my credit card I had already paid rentalcars.com for the Budget car I never got. Even though rentalcars.com knows and confirmed that Budget did not deliver my car, they do not reimburse you for this by crediting your credit card. You thus pay for something you did not get. I found out they keep the amount until they get a confirmative response from Budget. This response never came. I waited for a month and rentalcars.com keeps you on the line by repeatedly saying: still no answer from Budget. When rentalcars.com found out that I had reclaimed the rental amount for the car I never got though my credit card company all further service stopped abruptly.
The rentalcars.com logic for this is as follows: since I had claimed my rental amount back from rentalcars.com for the Budget car rental that never happened I lost all rights for compensation. Claims from me that these are two different issues were rejected. Rentalcars.com one-sidedly closed the case thereby reneging their compensation promise. Rentalcars.com goes for profits not for promises and providing service.

When things go bad at the counter after booking with Rentalcars then DO NOT expect much support. And be very careful of their Cancellation Fees even when the car renter cancels on you. And DO not use their Insurance as tryin to get a refund requires excessive evidence of NOT getting a car. In the end I have lost $620AUD and still had to use Hertz next door to get a car! Rental Cars has been nothing but problematic for me. I would never recommend this company to anybody. I was incorrectly sold full protection cover, and they DID NOT provide me with a refund despite probably about 8 attempts on my part to contact the company for my 68 euros back!
My advice is pay slightly more and because it isn't worth the stress and goose chase for nothing back.
They charge you money for an insurance, nothing else! You are traveling with the idea that you got a cheap car and when you arrive to the desk... they told you the real price of the car!
So... Rentalcars is just an intermediary who charge you money make you believe that this is the finale price.

I seriously think this is their trick but the website is purposefully broken so that you can't cancel the existing booking. I kept pressing cancel button and the screen looks as if you did but won't get email.
Turned out it wasn't cancelled and they were like, if you are cancelling within 48hrs, you need to pay. I was explaining the reason why there was a delay (aka broken site). They simply don't care.

Car has been booked 2 weeks in advance. When I arrived Adelaide airport on the 7/09/2019@ 7 am, Rentalcars told me that the vehicle is unavailable due to being over sold for the week. My family was frustrated for this worse service of Rentalcars.com

Very bad customer service and they are thieves, i rented a car from them, i took a smaller car than i was booking. I tied to call them, however, their reply was that they can not do anything until my booking is completer. I suffered with the small car all my trip and after that they did nothing.
Booked the car. They took my money and said they would be back in touch. Silence. Then two days later, an hour before pickup they send me a breezy email saying too bad there are no cars after all. And of course there is easy no way of contacting them to complain. Never again.
This booking required a security deposit of over £1000. Two weeks after returning the car in perfect condition I'm still fighting to get it back.
We aimed to hire a car with baby seats in Florence via rentalcars.com We gave 6 months notice. They emailed out a checklist which stated that one credit card was needed and also there was a link on the app labelled "Important information. Please read before picking up your car" This also stated that one credit card was needed. Pretty definitive right? Two direct communications one via email and one on the app. Well when we got to the desk of the company B Rental, they said we needed two credit cards. They also tried to sell us damage waiver insurance that we didn't need and then told us that they had no baby seats. So on two levels the booking was useless.
Rentalcars.com refused to take responsibility for their inaccurate email and app communications and pointed us to the small print. Basically their communications are there to catch you out it seems. They offered us a discount without saying how much discount but also advised us to call well in advance to activate this undefined discount and also refused to say what "well in advance " meant. So therefore they were offering nothing concrete whatsoever.
They have the worst communication and their customer service is shoddy and unhelpful in the extreme.
I had the misfortune of renting a car through booking.com/rentalcars.com. I got a great deal for a 2 week rental in London but when I got to the counter of Europcar the insurance I purchased through rentalcars.com was deemed insufficient and I was not allowed to take the car unless I paid an extra £700 which I did not have. Rentalcars.com STOLE $294 from me and would not refund it. I canceled that day and they gave me the run around for 2 weeks then finally said it's not their fault and STOLE $294 from me.

Onze heenvlucht was vertraagd waardoor we niet op het afgesproken tijdstip onze auto konden ophalen. We hebben dit netjes via mail laten weten. Bij het ophalen van de auto werd hier ook verder niets over gezegd. Na terugkomst van onze vakantie werden er ineens extra kosten afgeschreven van onze creditcard omdat we te laat waren met het ophalen van de auto. Wij kunnen er niets aan doen dat een vlucht vertraagd is en we hebben er alles aan gedaan om dit zo snel mogelijk te laten weten. Komt erop neer dat we uiteindelijk het dubbele hebben betaald. Belachelijk! Als je auto's verhuurd vanuit een luchthaven, dan weet je toch dat vluchten regelmatig vertraagd zijn! Hoe kun je daar je klanten voor afstraffen! Wij hadden ook liever geen vertraging gehad. We hopen dat Rentalcars dit toch nog op een nette manier wil oplossen.
