Have been trying to activate since 3:00p.m. It is now 8:50p. M, still haven't activated card. Customer service is useless. I will never purchase this card again.

Received card as a Christmas gift and spent many hours trying to activate it online. Then called the customer service number and was on hold forever. I read the comments and someone said to use firefox so while hold, I downloaded the Firefox browser and waited for it to load. Was able to log in and the Register Gift Card link took a million years to load but then bombed out when I entered my address. Stay away from this gift card!

I've been on hold for nearly 30 mins waiting for a response. The first time I called they sent me a link-- I had hope after 6 hours of frustration but then it would not load to the next page.

Impossible to activate
December 26, 2018

I am a teacher and often receive gift cards from my students. I received a prepaid visa for $50 recently. I have now been trying for 3 hours to activate my card. The website wouldn't load on my phone for 45 minutes. Finally got the sign in screen, entered my information, and it froze. After reading reviews from people who had similar problems, I used the customer service number. It prompted me to enter the pertinent numbers, yay, I thought, success. When I entered it, it said they would send a text with instructions. Waited 10 minutes, no text, so hung up and tried the website again. 20 minutes later I got a text with a link, tried the link, and back to the non-loading website. Finally got through to customer service who said they are doing maintenance and to try back in a max of 2 hours. I'd be hopeful, but the reviews I've read said they experienced this as well with no luck (calling back later got the same message). I guarantee I will no be purchasing any of these gift cards for others in the future!

Almost impossible to register to the card for online purchases. Website is constantly down. DO NOT use gift cards for online purchases, website never works. Have tried accessing my account 3 days in a row, none have worked.

A Complete Nightmare!

The process of "PrepaidGiftBalance" is worse than the process of buying a new home. The website rarely works; the automated system will not complete the process; and, it is HORRIBLY understaffed, and "Sylvia" that answered was rude as hell!

Website is horrible

I bought three (3) $100 prepaids and tried to register them. The website refused to load on Chrome and timed out on Edge. I had to install Firefox and wait 20 minutes to get to the site. And the phone number is useless. No activity after 2 whole minutes.

I put $400.00 on a Prepaid Balance Visa Gift Card, after using the card for several purchases, I signed on line to find out I had a negative balance! When I called the company they said some retailers hold certain amounts but they will put my money back. After 3 weeks my money has not been put back on my card, They blocked my from the website so I cant pull up any of my transactions and on top of all that they told me the first person I spoke with didnt know what she was talking about! So my money is missing and I cant even verify my transactions! Employee and Manager are rude as hell! I feel like they stole money from me!

I was given two gift cards for my birthday. What a waste of time! I received these almost a month ago and STILL have yet to be able to go online to use these to purchase.

Every time I try going on their website "prepaidgiftbalance.com" it ALWAYS fails, times out, etc.

I have NEVER come across a prepaid gift card that costs this much to use and then the hassles - have to register online before I can use it?

Customer service is a joke. I keep getting put on hold (after at least 10 to 15 minutes of waiting) and then only to be told, the website is experiencing higher than normal volume, try again in a couple hours.

Or if I wanted to register with a live person, I'm put on hold AGAIN, and passed around like some floozy at a biker bar.

This is by far THE worst company I've ever dealt with. What's even more sad it's YOUR money to start with. All this hassle to use your own money.

Never again. Shame on Kroger for even stocking this product.

I am extremely disappointed in this service. First of all, why do I have to register it to make an online purchase? Then, when I go to the website to register, it doesn't do anything. Next I called and they texted me a registration link. That was easy to use, except it failed at the end. Then I had to speak to a rep, which was fine, she sounded like she was used to lots of complaints, although she did complete the registration, but then had to break the news to me that I had to wait an hour to use the card. I have never seen this kind of nonsense for something I paid for. I will be sure to spread the word to everyone I know.

Site is broken all the time

Error processing. Obama and the "shadow" government have been working on the kinks to make SURE you have no anonomyous way of paying anything without the government tracking you down and collecting the info that can be used against you at any time and I mean ANY time years later. T
That is why for the gift card stuff working less and less.

Obama passed a rule secretly that you can't use gift cards international anymore but a lot of people only noticed the hard way and started complaining "My VISA gift card won't work in XYZ country and it's perfectly valid" with the usual generic answers.

If they had their way you wouldn't be allowed to even use cash!.

Hillary wanted to put TSA on trains and buses for "your safety" but to keep tabs on who is on her league and who isn't. People have randomly "died" under her including the person who claimed he started the who Russian crap and a few days later died mysteriously. Typical pattern.

They want the chip in your head as your ID wherever you go. There has been experimental stores that have systems to take money out of your bank account just by walking out the door thru sensors installed. Cashier less shopping.

I bought a new card. As soon as opened it to activate it told me that the three-digit code on the back is invalid. I called customer service and they told me that the card has a balance of zero because there was a transaction posted. Mind you this is within 5 minutes of me taking the card out of the package it comes in. I have now called three times to try to dispute this charge and I always get the same "no dispute agents are available, they are here 24/7 but today nobody came to work". Seriously! THis is what they tell me!.

When I bought a 25$ gift card I tried logging in, it said the 3 digit code was incorrect i looked on the back of the card and it was not incorrect then it told me to call the number and it told me the 3 digit code was incorrect. Complete waste of money

We bought 15 cards at $100 each to buy fuel for our motor home ($400 per diesel fill up). Tried online activation on multiple cards & it would not work. Called toll free number on card and was told they could only activate 2 at a time. What a waste of time. Next time we WONT buy these Visa cards from Kroger!!

Complete waste never buy from them ever they wont even let me log into change my credit info so I can use my card online and even if it does it doesnt let me change it, keeps saying error everywhere. COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY!

I can't even log in to check my balance, keep getting an error that says, We are unable to process this request. Please call the phone number on the back of your card for additional assistance. Then I call them and they say check back in a couple of hours. I waited and still nothing, and it's been days and still can't log in to the website. They are a horrible company, avoid them.

I've been using cards from this company for a couple years now. Since then, I've had times where it works just fine, but other times, it messes up. Today, I tried using the website to check the balances of several cards I have, but it kept telling me the numbers were wrong. I tried calling, and I think they have my number blocked, because calls to them won't even connect. Yet, I used one of the cards today and it worked just fine.

I came to these reviews because when I tried to access the website to register my card, my computer said it was not protected. However, there still is a way to register it. If you call the number on the back of the paper (*******536) then you're taken to an automated program that can help you set up your card. It is annoying that you can't just use the instructions they give you, but if you have purchased this card, you can still use your money.

Bought my first item online and the card was not immediately rejected, so I believe the registering worked. HOWEVER, if you are considering buying this card, don't. There are other card services that are so much easier to use and could save you some troubles.

I bought card with cash. Planned to use it for business gas card. First time at pump they put a $125 hold on my $100 card and also decline to let me pump. IF they had pre-auth'd card, let me pump my $58 in gas and then held other $42 for a day, not that big a deal. Instead they are just holding my $100 until they get around to releasing it.
