Along with alot of others, prepaid gift card is a scam and fraud. Cards are being bought at stores and they are doing nothing to reimburse purchasers. We send in our paperwork (several times) and still nothing. I will never buy a gift card again. We are starting a law suit with one of the networks (like joe on your side)
I received a $100 gift card from a local company. I was excited because I never win anything. I went to use the card and it was declined. I called to get the balance and it was $11.67. The other $88 was used online by someone who either stole the card number or was issued a duplicate card.
Called customer service and was told that I need to provide them with a receipt and photocopies of my private information in order to prove I own the card. I informed them this was a gift card and I didn't buy it and they essentially said tough $#*!.
They didn't want to hear about the issue, they didn't want to look into the issue and certainly did not want to take care of the issue. I was treated like a criminal because I didn't use my gift money before somebody could steal it.
Prepaidgiftbalamce.com, you should be ashamed of yourself.
Funds were stolen within a day of loading the card. Website was not working properly. The site would error when inputting the card number and support phone number didn't even work. Called from different phones and would immediately get disconnected. Accessed website days later and only then was I able to see the purchase history and that the funds were used (stolen) immediately. Called support number and after being on hold for 20 minutes, customer service rep (Kristian?) was rude AF. Acted like she couldn't be bothered. Hung up on me before all my questions were answered.
It's not a scam, but rather a scummy businessbmodel. They charge $2 inactivity fees every month so you end up with a minimal balance if the card isn't used right away. Give people money for gifts instead.
FIRST WE HAD ISSUES WITH THEIR WEBSITE... IT DOESN'T WORK! KEEPS KICKING YOU BACK TO LOGIN SCREEN. NOW, FOR THE PAST 24 HOURS, WE HAVE BEEN CALLING THEIR *******536 "CUSTOMER SERVICE" # AND THE CALL CANNOT EVEN GO THROUGH! CARD IS BEING DENIED FOR PURCHASES LESS THAN $20 WITH OVER $300 BALANCE! THEFT! SCAM! MY KIDS GOT THESE CARDS FROM THEIR GRANDPARENTS FOR CHRISTMAS AND NOW THEY ARE $300 PIECES OF WORTHLESS PLASTIC!
Registering these cards for online purchases is impossible. The website just boots you back to login after entering your card information. Trying to register over the phone and same problem, the website freezes halfway through and hangs up on me. It's fine I guess if all you want is in-store purchases.
Steer clear of this garbage company.
Can't activate online for online purchases. I've had it with this company. Fix your flawed system and don't have customers sitting on hold for over a half hour because your selling a service that you are not giving. I can see a class action lawsuit happening here real soon. I will never buy one of your gift cards again. The end
So, I have a card, I've made a transaction and... it was fine, that's it. In fact I made a second purchase before things went straight to hell. Websites started declining me, supposedly because I didn't have enough money on my card. That was my fault, yeah, so I checked my transactions and turns out, I spent more than I meant to on the first purchase. So I waited around to see when the orders would be redacted... and they kicked me off the site. Really? First off, why? I bought your trash so I deserve to use it, no? I've been waiting for about 10 days now, either the site is down (which if it is, there should be some sort of error message, but no, they can't even afford that with the money they've taken from us), or they legit said "F* you man, we're not letting you back on the site because you bein' suspicious and crap" I mean, all I did was log in? Why are you acting this way? Ughhh, tbh just stick to other gift cards, like Amazon, Gamestop, etc. No I would not recommend buying from this company, and I find it quite laughable that they deem this attitude as acceptable in common times. Caution: If you see prepaidgiftbalance.com on your Visa gift card... you're gonna have a bad time.
Unable to use card and unable to log in to the account also I have contacted customer service by calling at the number on the back of the card, my card has been deactivated because a supposed fraud committed with that card, now to reactivate the card I am requested to send a copy of my ID, a copy of my Social security number and a proof of my address, of course I'm not that stupid, I'm contacting BBB to ask for help on solving this issue.
It's not a scam it's just that their website and customer support are really $#*!ty. I had spent a few hours trying to figure it out and after a while I was able to get it working on my phone.
This gift card won't work in any shape or form. I can't reach customer service and every method possible of trying to buy something just declines. Wish the FBI would shut this company down. VISA owes a lot of people money!
This company are complete crooks! My son purchased a $50 gift card in Colorado when he was there visiting my brother. He activated the card and now it's declining when he tries to make a purchase. They stole money from my 13 year old son. They owe him his $50 back. THIEFS! After talking to customer service they couldn't even give a reason except it's under investigation?! THEY need to be under investigation!
Bought a $500 prepaid visa and had to register it over the phone because the website would return to login if I tried to register it online, and used the phone registration to do it finally. A few days later, the card is blocked due to a charge at a city 60+ miles away from where I am, to which they used $215 for Albertsons! Called the company to dispute the charge and was on hold for over an hour and 20 more minutes getting the customer service person to put in a dispute form. After receiving the paperwork in the mail, I had to fax it and it could take up to 90 days for a resolution! Unbelievable! Avoid this garbage excuse for a company!
Also the website does not load 99 percent of the time, to which it just goes back to the login page without anything happening, or it will error out and not recognize the card number!
They steal the money on the card and when they are confronted and told a refund can be issued they lie and lie and lie.
DO NOT PURCHASE ONE OF THESE CARDS!
ALL YOU ARE DOING IS GIVING THEM YOUR MONEY BETTER OFF GIFTING CASH OR WRITING A CHECK!
I have tried using this 2 times I'm not sure why it doesn't automatically register your card but it doesn't and its really annoying it worked the first time then every time after that it stopped working plus the website is complete garbage and doesn't even load half the time.
I received a $100 gift card as a birthday gift. I used it twice with the total amount of $67 and the balance appeared as $0. I called the customer service and it was the worst experience ever. The woman confirmed there were 2 transactions $67 and the original balance $100 and said she had no idea where my $33 has gone. She finally put me on hold to get me wait forever and finally hung up. Total fraud!
99% it does not work. A waste of time to register from the website. The phone registration works better. Fire all of the IT that do the website and backend.
Hire capable people who can make a working website.
Received it as a gift, the website is terrible. Customer service is terrible and lied and said someone already registered the card. No one did. They Stole $100 plus the fraud service charge of $5.95 to activate. STAY AWAY!
I tried to register my $100 prepaidgiftbalance card, and customer service said it was already under someone else's name, so card unusable. I smellSCAM.
I just brought a new gift card for $ 60.00 plus the $5.95 fee at our Smith's store here. I tried several times to activate and register the card online by logging in on their website as a returning and new user, didn't help at all. Now, I'm stuck with a useless card and out $65.95 out of my own pocket and I am very angry! I am warning everybody to stay away from doing business with this " company ".
Answer: I've been on hold for over a half hour and I honestly don't think anyone is going to answer. This is unbelievable
Answer: When you buy at the store it will be activated by the casher, if you have problem go back to store with your receipt and they will fix. You know you should always get a receipt for giftcards!
Answer: From my experience you generally don't need to register a giftcard for instore use, only for online or other types of purchases.
Answer: Contact customer support number. Wait time... varies. Theyll help you register your card without having to deal with the janky website (if the wait times arent 2 hours of course)
