This website should be renamed Buyer Beware. Luckily I only made a small purchase -- what was supposed to be a size XS Madewell tank dress. What could go wrong? The dress was shrunk so it was so tight in the chest that it is unwearable. Poshmark's response was that there are no returns if something doesn't fit. This was a case of the item being damaged. I feel luckily that this is all I bought. Most of the Poshmark reviews are bad. Only sellers like it because there are no returns so they can pass along all their bad buys, ruined items and junk to unwary buyers. It doesn't get any worse for buyers so just don't be tempted and take the risk.
I am in shock... I purchased an aquamarine ring from a seller known *******@anumah, Evelyn Pulido from Montclair CA, and it was bent in the band! I purchased 4 rings, in a "bundle" and made her an offer that she accepted. When they arrived I was shocked to feel how lightweight and cheap the aquamarine ring was. I took 18 pictures, because she was using a mannequin hand that had extremely tiny fingers, which made the rings look huge! In reality? Rinky dinky POS! I filed a claim immediately (you get 72 hours to do so) and I was asked to take pictures, and Poshmark came back to me and offered a $60.00 shop credit towards a future purchase! I WAS LIVID! I immediately contacted Discover to dispute the charges. This seller basically runs a jewelry store inside Poshmark! Her stuff is pure junk, with cheap, inexpensive gemstones like quartz, peridot, pink opal... nothing that has true value. The peridot had a band just as thin as the aquamarine that was bent up in the band, so I did not want to keep it either, as well as the pink opal, because the rings were so tiny. I am just shocked that Poshmark chooses to treat their buyers with prejudice, because the seller has over 50,000 followers! It's all a scheme, with a cult like mentality in that poshers go around and back each other up, have "posh parties" where they try to sell more items. This lady, Evelyn *******@anumah adds 10 pieces of jewelry a day! I thought this was supposed to be used, consignment items, but they have sellers selling items that are not authenticated (I could have glass as gemstones!), and its an absolute rip off if you are not VERY careful, and ask a ton of questions before you buy. Poshmark policy is that the item has to be "Not as described" to facilitate a return! So, BE CAREFUL with what you purchase! Never again will I make that mistake twice. The seller then blocked me from warning others, and Poshmark is standing firmly behind the seller! It's just not fair, and the way that this woman talked to me within the dispute was hostile. I tried to remain calm, and I was very kind. She just flipped. She is from Brazil, and doesn't write well, and I was just so upset that I spent close to $400.00 to receive carnival rings that were POS!
Seller,@ lizburns2209, held my PayPal $ for almost a month and then Poshmark cancelled the transaction. My money was held for a month, before it was refunded. Is this a Poshmark business practice? There is no way to block sellers or provide feedback regarding sellers on the site.
The item is still up on her site, but now shows as sold.
Poshmark offered me a $5 credit and an apology when I requested additional information, so two stars instead of one.
If you want to steal shop eBay- I sold a perfectly good authentic pair of true religion jeans are on Poshmark and was returned a pair of fake true religion jeans and Poshmark had to give myself and the fire back the money which is ridiculous I think that people that shop online on the site should read the feedback from the sellers they buy from. They should also know their sizes their measurements and the product that theyre buying. I was happy to find Poshmark after being ripped off repeatedly on eBay by stealing buyers
Check the very small print. No returns unless the product is not as advertised or something is wrong with it. The dress I purchased is terrible but now I'm stuck. Think I'll go back to shopping at more reputable stores
And I'm not happy about it. Sold a vintage authentic LV bag for a song on the Poshmark site. I felt I had accurately portrayed its condition, but the buyer did not and filed a claim, which I'm fine with. EXCEPT, they put a hold on my funds so I never received payment and they let the buyer keep the bag. Its been over a week and many emails later I have gotten NO response. I am very very angry. As soon as this is resolved, if it is ever resolved, I'm pulling all of my other items and closing my account.
I sold a red/purple box logo hoodie for over $500 so it was subject to their authentication process. I was fine with it being over $500 I planned this so when people looked at my account and looked at my sales they would see that I was a reliable seller that had gone through the authentication process before and passed so my seller rating would be in solid standing. So I sent it to the poshmark headquarters, 2 days later I get a notification that my hoodie has been deemed counterfeit. I send them an email telling them the hoodie is not fake and I can send them the emails I got from supreme when I bought the hoodie. I never got a reply back and I couldn't send the $25 in the name of my electric bill. So my $600 hoodie is now in ashes. Never buying or selling on poshmark again and I cannot recommend the same to you either.
I shop and sell on a few sites and posh is one of them, I can honestly say that this is by far one of the best! The only reason I have not committed to selling the hundreds of items I sell to posh is the higher selling fees, if they lowered them, I know many sellers would switch over completely. The customer service is amazing, better than eBay, mercari, depop etc... and most of the seller's are friendly and very accommodating. The items seem to be higher quality and sellers also take better care in their packaging and shipping. Now, I have had a couple negative experiences with a couple sellers but by far less than mercari sellers. I would definitely recommend Poshmark to buy and sell but be aware that as a seller the fees are a bit higher.
Usually a pretty inexpensive way to buy clothes. Items are usually shipped within 3-5 days but lately I haven't been sent an item from Aquaposh after 2 weeks. It can also take about 7 days depending on the seller paying attention to their account, and being able to track the item is nice. Shipping will add a few dollars to the total but if you can buy from the right buyer, being wary of scammers and get the clothes in a timely fashion, typically with a nice "thank you" note inside cute packaging. Overall it's a nice way to shop for usually gently used cute items. Just make sure you hit "love" and don't click on an item you like if you want to keep browsing because you'll have to go back to the top. I might take a break from shopping here for a while though.
While I did not like the fact that your questions/negotiations are viewable by everyone, I did end up buying some tops that were exactly as advertised, in perfect condition, inexpensive (a great deal), and were shipped promptly.
Poshmark did not care that I was Scammed *******@teenatimmer and she is still selling on that website. She sells used, expired and stolen makeup. Worst part about poshmark is that you are giving your personal address info etc. to crooks like her
Please be careful buying from this site. They do not scream the seller, I got a pair a shoes that was listed 39 and I got a size 41 and the shoes is fake. You will be safer my buying from Real Real.
The numerous negative online consumer reviews confirm Poshmark's ongoing, unacceptable, and potentially unlawful business practices. The common theme includes substandard customer service, poor management, no customer service contact number, product misrepresentations, and the sale of prohibited items pursuant to Poshmark's seller policies. Consumers should file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission against Poshmark for deceptive and/or problematic business transactions and request a full charge back to their credit card for merchandise returned or cancelled that was not refunded, for goods not received, misrepresented, or damaged, and for other merchant issues specific to their transaction.
I you NEED to buy products and want you products to arrive on time do NOT shop there. Ordered and item that was over $200 never received my item and took well over 10 day to get my refund. Many of the items on their site are not really available. But they will keep you money for days.
I was sent a wrong item from seller. I open a case with 4 pictures showing incorrect item. The pictures of what I sent and what they sent me, a child could look at and tell you it's not the same item. The seller admits she sent wrong item, but poshmark kept having to send picture after picture to prove it was wrong (pictures of the same thing). I get called out of town for a family medical emergency. Finally after days and days yelp said send it back in two days. I had sent them a message explaining I was at a medical emergency and got the message a day late. NOPE, sorry your screwed you had two days. Bunch of crap. After waiting almost two weeks to get return approval I had a two day window to return. Not good business practices. So I am stuck with an item i didn't order or pay for.
FRIST I dont want to be on a site that is LIKE YOU ARE ON A CHAT SITE TALKING ABOUT SHOPPING THIS IS A HORRIBLE SITE AND THE PEOPLE ON THIS SITE COMENT
ABOUT CLOTHES AND GET INTO ARGUMENTS WITH YOU SO DUMB I WENT SOMEWHERE ELSE GOT THE DRESS ON A DIFFERENT SITE AND IT WAS NEW NOT USED AND CHEAPER DONT Buy from this site!
All I can say is be very, very careful shopping on Poshmark. I personally would never buy anything expensive on this site. They do not accept returns, so if the clothing you bought doesn't fit or doesn't look right on you, you cannot return it and get your money back. This site is full of scammers. The majority of these sellers bought their inventory of used clothing at thrift stores for a few dollars and have now marked it way up to make a profit. Yes, you could have gone to a thrift store yourself and bought the item for a few dollars, as opposed to spending a lot more money on Poshmark. The sellers are taking advantage of the public's laziness and the convenience of getting an item delivered to your front door as opposed to going to a brick and mortar and shopping for an item yourself.
I realized most reviews are from buyers so I decided to put one in as a seller (even though I did but a few items on the site). Make sure to buy from a reputable seller, one who has a sold item history on their wall and has more then one five star love note if they had sold at least ten items. There are a lot of sellers to just sell a few items in their closet, and some sell it for such a tiny fraction of the cost, so you can get a super awesome deal. HOWEVER, you will also be at risk for slow shipping, unspecified defects on the item, and scammers, so it is a risk (I did buy some awesome deals and they where exactly as described with fast shipping, so this doesn't happen very often!) If you do find a reputable seller on Poshmark, it is a way more fun experience then Ebay... many sellers (like me) love to package items like Christmas gifts and throw in extra freebies inside! :D
Some disgusting seller had a pair of the Huntress rain boots listed as hunter rain boots even had a picture of the original wellies in the ad. I realized after reading some of the comments on the item that something was off with the description and literally emailed the seller several hours after paying saying that if they were indeed Huntress that they wouldnt fit me and if I could please have a refund. Not only did she not respond, but she waited about 7 days or whatever the official day is to cancel your order. To mark them as shipped. Only did she respond after I opened a case with customer service saying she never claimed they were originals. Well, if you dont have a pair of Huntress boots that are called specifically by that name, written anywhere then how am I supposed to think they are anything other than the originals? Customer service sided with the seller and told me that I should have asked to specificy what exact make of the boot it was. Absolutely ridiculous. That situation would NEVER have happened on Ebay. Also sellers on Ebay ship your items much faster than posh. I since cancelled and have told everyone I know to stay far far away as they have a customer service that is loyal to sellers only and will allow you to be scammed
I've made a few purchases now thru this site. My advice is to ask questions (and more questions) before making a purchase. I also always skim thru their closet to look for questionable items. If all looks legit you should be ok. If item doesn't ship within 2 days ask the seller if there's a problem. I've been happy with my purchases and have gotten some great deals, I've never bought new items tho and I view this website like a garage sale. I've never had to contact customer service so I guess I've been lucky.
Answer: You've got to be smart about shopping online these days. There are scammers wherever you go. That said, if you follow the guidelines and steer clear from trading, which most sites don't condone, then you'll be fine. I've purchased over 100+ items on poshmark and have sold over 90+ with complete success, with the exception of the one time I decided to trade... I've purchased low prices items before and received junk a couple times, but Poshmark ALWAYS refunded me! Maybe I'm super savvy, so here's what I always do: 1. Always checkout the seller's reviews. 2. Always ask if there are any flaws with used items. 3. Always ask if sizing is TTS: "true to size" 4. And most importantly, always ask if it's authentic (unless otherwise specified in the description) These 4 questions have always led me to receiving exactly what I wanted and at half the retail price! Plus, it's so much fun! I've made a considerable amount of income from it, while also adding a nice set of items to my own closet! Good luck out there!
Answer: I have received every item I have ever bought on poshmark. It arrived on time and was in the exact condtion as was promised and how it appeared in the pics.
Answer: Well yes she received the boots and probably didnt like them or they didnt fit etc. she is trying to get her money back by trying to re sell them for 70.00 however she would only get 56.00
Answer: It took a long time, but today Poshmark said they refunded the entire purchase amount plus shipping because the booties I ordered were misrepresented. It took About a month and a half. Two times they offered me small credits toward another Poshmark purchase. I filed a very well documented (12 pages of emails, screen shots of the ad and screen shots of dialogue between me and the seller, Kimology) fraud claim with my credit card company, and I emailed Poshmark's customer service to advise them. Two days later they told me they were refunding my money. We'll see if that happens. Poshmark's customer service is terrible, but persistence paid off. Best of luck to you!
Answer: Ask probing questions: non-smoker? Ever been dry cleaned? How worn is it? Cats? Etc
Answer: I have the total opposite reaction to this question. This mystery group that decides what the outcome will be is ridiculous. You can't talk to anyone, and my last attempt to get support through emails, took one month! Not a fan of learning who the good sellers are by trial and error...
Answer: She probably stalked the other seller's listing and found you commented on the item you purchased. So technically, yes they can see what you buy as long as you commented something on the purchased listing.
Answer: Be careful on posh because they do not have your back. There is a lot of scandalous people on posh. Be careful on ebay as well. I bought a Michael Kors set on ebay that was listed as excellent condition but it was stained and reeked of cigarette smoke. Ebay did not refund my money. They said since it wasn't listed as brand new with tags I was screwed. I was out $315. Who wants a handbag and wallet that smells like shit? I think twice before buying on Ebay since that experience. Shame on the dishonest seller and Ebay for allowing that behavior. Good Luck!
Answer: Have you sent an email to Poshmark support? I have before and they did respond
Answer: You unfortunately cannot return an item if it doesn't fit. It's best to ask the seller the measurements of the item, if they tell you the wrong measurements you can return it. If they will not give you the measurements then don't buy from them. I'm new to selling on Poshmark and I will allow people to return their items if they don't fit because I believe that's what's right, you will find other good sellers!
