I sell on both Poshmark and Ebay, and for some reasons my tems that dont get much action on ebay sell more quickly on Poshmark. I always try to inspect my items and make sure its in great condition, but out of my 30 sales there were two where I missed some damage, I wish poshmark buyers had easier way to return items, because no matter how great of a seller you are, there will be that one or two instances where you miss a rip, spot or something else. I purchased 2 items as a buyer and it has been very good purchases that I received promptly and really liked.
The listings don't require that the seller place the size of the product in the listing. As a buyer you can ask what size, but it becomes redundant and it can sometimes take forever to get a response from sellers. The worst part about Poshmark is that sellers can sell used items and these sellers have the gumption to sell these used items for more than what you can buy the item online brand new. The site is a mess as well. It's like shopping at Ross dress for less at Christmas time. Everything is thrown around the store and nothing is organized. There seems to be no rules. Absolutely nasty. Amazon is better than this. If you tell a seller that you can buy this same product for brand new on X website for $100 less - no response. Poshmark should make it a necessity to force sellers to make their prices competitive - unless why bother with their nasty site?
The claim process if you get something that you did not expect or in a quality that is not to what was described, instead of the company handling it and supporting the buyer, they create a chat window for the buyer and seller to argue it out. Then, they make a decision. It is a terrible platform and customer service is aweful. Spend more money and feel more safe with your purchase. That is my advice. Stay away
If someone can figure out this poorly organized site, please do explain. I did order two items from one seller. I am quite sure that one of them wasn't new as stated.
I saw this site that advertised the first item $. 99 shipping. I ordered and after 5 days I messaged the seller asking when it would be shipped. The response I got was that the sale had been canceled because the seller no longer had the item. Really? That sounds like a scam to me. We will see if I actually get my refund.
I buy and sell on Poshmark. As a buyer you are able to ask questions, get additional photos and negotiate a price. As a seller, its easy to list an item, no cost until it sells, Poshmark handles the $ transactions, as well as other advantages to make a sale. I did have an issue with a purchase that Poshmark handled to my satisfaction. Some sellers are not honest about their product so as stated above, ask questions. Read the descriptions throughly. If buying shoes or handbags, make sure of close up pictures of bottoms too. I pride myself in wanting my buyers to absolutely love whatever they buy from my closet (and I always include an extra gift). I recommend all to use Poshmark - just be smart about it. Unfortunately there are peeps who will take advantage both buying and selling. (@splitmountain)
Ive ordered from Poshmark 5 times. Only 2 of the items ever shipped, the other 3, I had to receive refund for. I will say that poshmark was quick to answer my initial email with a response that they had attempted to contact the sellers and if it had been 7 days since I made the purchase, I could request cancellation and refund. I did make requests and if they dont hear back from seller within one day of their contacting them, they do issue a quick refund without any trouble. I guess my issue is that there is no repercussions for the seller that never ship items, as these people are still selling things today. Also, there isnt anyway for you to contact the seller yourself or even leave a negative review for them to warn other buyers. I will not be using posh mark again.
I received a pair of shoes sold as "in great condition" and when I got them poshmark there were holes on the inside! Poshmark refused to allow me to send them back as they were falsely advertised. Poshmark allows sellers to lie just to get a dollar. This company is horrible and gave me zero support when I was not satisfied with my order. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SITE!
Mostly over priced, fake, knock off goods that are not even close to being authentic. Many describe their designer items as vintage when they are just new but older looking, yet still cheap stuff that is not authentic.
I know we all want a nice designer bag but it's tacky to wear fake designer goods because those who have the real thing know. Even those who don't have the real thing know. Save and get the real thing.
I have bought over 150 items and sold about $2000 worth... I've had no issues as a seller other than low-ballers and people asking question that are already in the description because they don't like to read. As a buyer I've had many issues. I had paid almost $500 for a bag only for the seller to lead me on and never ship. I've been sold a blatantly fake pair of Gucci sunglasses (realized they were fake in hand) and when I confronted the seller they were rude and told me I wanted to return them because I thought they didn't look good on me and she accused me of attacking her. Many sellers think they can get the price they paid for the item 4 years ago. Some of the women can be very catty. Poshmark also refuses to enforce their policy against knockoff designer items. It's easy to get away with selling non-clothing items because nothing is enforced.
I have to find a way to post the communication between the Posh Support Team and myself... I've given Posh many chances, and the website is truly a RIP-OFF! You may as well give your items to someone who would appreciate them, or sell them somewhere else. Posh takes ALL your money, and there's no way to verify whether a buyer has added defects to your product before opening a claim and requesting a refund. BE VERY CAREFUL!
Stick to eBay to sell your stuff. Buyers on Poshmark consistently submit low-ball offers and the 20% cut that Poshmark takes just doesn't make it worth it. To add insult to injury, buyers will pay $30 for a nearly new $300 top and then open a case that the item isn't in new condition. Ridiculous! I've had it with this silly site and have closed my account.
I placed my first and last order with Poshmark. I was intrigued by the idea of buying new or slightly worn name brand product at a deep discount. I placed an order for 2 Vineyard Vines mens polo shirts. They were offered at 2 for $50 new or slightly worn polos in great condition. What I received was one original Vineyard Vines polo with a stain at the bottom front hem and a knockoff shirt with a stamped on labe of Vineyard Vines made in Pakistan. I immediately contacted Poshmarks customer service and got an email that they were investigating and would get back to me, I wanted to return the items or even offered to keep them for $30, lesson learnedl. I never heard back from them and today noticed I was invoiced the full amount. What happened to their policy of reviewing the customer complaint and forgoing invoices until the problem is resolved? I now have learned a valuable lesson, if it looks to good to be true it isnt. My motive in posting this is to warn anyone like me to avoid this company.
Poshmark emailed me Monday, here was their response to my firm emails.
"Thank you for submitting your return for review. In these situations, it is difficult for our team to determine the order's original condition. Our team carefully reviews all case and user details to make the best decision we can.
We want to highlight that from our experience, most claims come from honest oversights from either party. However, we understand your concern and want to assure you that the appropriate action will be taken. Rest assured, all return cases are noted to prevent future issues.
We truly value you as a member of our community - as a courtesy, we have added your earnings to your balance for this order. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused."
I'm still upset that this lady got away with lying through her teeth, this will happen again, maybe not to me but to others. Taking a photo of the garment with the shipping label should be evidence enough to protect the seller.
I've sold over 100 items, I'm an "Ambasador," and I like to purchase crazy expensive clothes that I couldn't afford at full price. I've read a lot of stories where the buyer is scammed and the seller gets away with it. Well, I'm here complaining about the opposite situation.
Granted, this whole sale left me with $12 so it wasn't a big deal, but the principal of it all will irritate me for years to come. I posted a blouse, depicted all angles of the blouse, blouse sold. Everything on the blouse was obviously ok because there wasn't a hidden inch of fabric.
Buyer receives blouse and claims it was not as described. I read that and I was like ok, it probably doesn't fit and she wants to return it. That doesn't make me mad, as long as the garment is ok.
I open up the pictures and this lady has burnt several holes along the bottom. Maybe done with an iron or something. She claims that these HUGE BURN HOLES I covered up from my listing and I sold her a faulty item. Anyone with eyes would be able to see that was not the case. The state that the blouse was in would have NEVER made it on to my site. It would have gone to the garbage. I only sell my clothes, and ones that are in good condition. Despite all of the pictures, and the lady's admission of guilt, they STILL approved her return.
I am stubborn and I want Poshmark to make a change. I will continue to make complaints about this order. I'll probably refuse the return package. Enough is enough. I want seller protection. Sorry buyers, but I make sure I always buy from a trusted source and if I think any image is sketchy, I ask for new ones or find something else. Good sellers shouldn't be punished for the bad ones out there. It's easy to spot a bad seller, its impossible to know if you're selling to a bad buyer.
I ordered a skirt. Prior to ordering I reached out to the seller and asked if this item was in a pest, pet and smoke free environment. The seller confirmed and I bought the skirt. Because I have a different mailing address and I know how the sellers get paid, when I got an email from Poshmarj confirming the delivery, I accepted it blindly. When I went to pick up the skirt, I opened it and noticed it has white stains and oil spots. When I went.to the site using my cellphone I tried to open a claim and was informed claims can only be opened via their web app or a desktop. I forgot my password and requested a reset email 4 times and never received the email (I am still waiting on that email). I reached out to their customer service and it was reiterated to me how to file a claim and that i am not eligible for a refund because I dod not submit claim within 3 days of delivery, not addressing that I am unable to acces my profile except but through mobile data because whatever the password is (it's masked for privacy), I can't see it.
I am extremely disappointed because I paid money for an item I can't wear not can I remove the damage, yet Poshmark does not seemed too concerned about my rights.
I would suggest that you all use The Real Real instead of Poshmark! The return process is horrible with Poshmark! Buyers Beware :(
You purchase something and on the 8 day they wont let you cancel. It doesnt say if it is shipped you cant cancel either. Very high shipping. Be very careful, ask questions if they dont tell you dont buy it. I would go some place else.
What they say is true. Poshmark is not that great and at times can be very frustrating. Buyer better beware.
Just left Poshmark. In the beginning it was fine. But the last three items purchased were not as described. One lady sold me New Balance running shoes. Specifically asked if medium width. She said there were medium. Sent and they were 2A narrow. The next item was a Large sweatshirt with the chest measurements of 21 inches. The item sent was a flimsy sweater 18 inches across. Then another item that was new with tags that smelled like a perfume factory. I rebelled after receiving the sweatshirt and said enough. But after uploading two sets of photos on app and attaching photos to 2 emails, customer report said they did not receive photos. So rather than get more upset, I just walked away as a customer... lesson learned.
Don't order an item from Poshmark unless you are going to be around and able to take photos within the 72 hours they give you of receiving the package. Their system won't allow you to submit a complaint without photos, so when I had my mom check my package for me and I found out it wasn't what the seller said it was, I tried to submit a complaint and couldn't because I didn't have a photo. I emailed them about the issue and they refused to help me because it was out of the 72 hour window. When I emailed them back they ignored me. They do not care about making sure their customers are satisfied, they do not look out for their customers best interests, and their customer service (when they choose to respond) is rude. Horrible experience with them, I am never using their site again.
Answer: You've got to be smart about shopping online these days. There are scammers wherever you go. That said, if you follow the guidelines and steer clear from trading, which most sites don't condone, then you'll be fine. I've purchased over 100+ items on poshmark and have sold over 90+ with complete success, with the exception of the one time I decided to trade... I've purchased low prices items before and received junk a couple times, but Poshmark ALWAYS refunded me! Maybe I'm super savvy, so here's what I always do: 1. Always checkout the seller's reviews. 2. Always ask if there are any flaws with used items. 3. Always ask if sizing is TTS: "true to size" 4. And most importantly, always ask if it's authentic (unless otherwise specified in the description) These 4 questions have always led me to receiving exactly what I wanted and at half the retail price! Plus, it's so much fun! I've made a considerable amount of income from it, while also adding a nice set of items to my own closet! Good luck out there!
Answer: I have received every item I have ever bought on poshmark. It arrived on time and was in the exact condtion as was promised and how it appeared in the pics.
Answer: Well yes she received the boots and probably didnt like them or they didnt fit etc. she is trying to get her money back by trying to re sell them for 70.00 however she would only get 56.00
Answer: It took a long time, but today Poshmark said they refunded the entire purchase amount plus shipping because the booties I ordered were misrepresented. It took About a month and a half. Two times they offered me small credits toward another Poshmark purchase. I filed a very well documented (12 pages of emails, screen shots of the ad and screen shots of dialogue between me and the seller, Kimology) fraud claim with my credit card company, and I emailed Poshmark's customer service to advise them. Two days later they told me they were refunding my money. We'll see if that happens. Poshmark's customer service is terrible, but persistence paid off. Best of luck to you!
Answer: Ask probing questions: non-smoker? Ever been dry cleaned? How worn is it? Cats? Etc
Answer: I have the total opposite reaction to this question. This mystery group that decides what the outcome will be is ridiculous. You can't talk to anyone, and my last attempt to get support through emails, took one month! Not a fan of learning who the good sellers are by trial and error...
Answer: She probably stalked the other seller's listing and found you commented on the item you purchased. So technically, yes they can see what you buy as long as you commented something on the purchased listing.
Answer: Be careful on posh because they do not have your back. There is a lot of scandalous people on posh. Be careful on ebay as well. I bought a Michael Kors set on ebay that was listed as excellent condition but it was stained and reeked of cigarette smoke. Ebay did not refund my money. They said since it wasn't listed as brand new with tags I was screwed. I was out $315. Who wants a handbag and wallet that smells like shit? I think twice before buying on Ebay since that experience. Shame on the dishonest seller and Ebay for allowing that behavior. Good Luck!
Answer: Have you sent an email to Poshmark support? I have before and they did respond
Answer: You unfortunately cannot return an item if it doesn't fit. It's best to ask the seller the measurements of the item, if they tell you the wrong measurements you can return it. If they will not give you the measurements then don't buy from them. I'm new to selling on Poshmark and I will allow people to return their items if they don't fit because I believe that's what's right, you will find other good sellers!
